Great place to stay, feels like you're in the mountains near Poas and close enough to the capitol city of San Jose. Easy access to the area without the busy hustle of a populated area or the city. Great service at the restaurant and delicious food.

We stayed at Casa Villa for one night on our way to La Fortuna with our family of five. We had to book two cabins, but they were adorable with a loft-like design. The bedrooms were upstairs, while the ground floor had a small living area.
The on-site restaurant served great food, and the staff was wonderful. The only downside was the location right next to the road, so the noise from trucks and cars driving by throughout the night was quite loud.

This was a beautiful property with hiking trails on-site. The restaurant was excellent with fair prices. Breakfast included was top notch. The cabin was cozy and had a fireplace stocked with wood and a fire starter kit. The only issue we had was the bed was extremely firm.

It’s lovely! The staff are so kind, friendly and helpful. The food is great in the restaurant. The rooms are lovey and clean and cosy. The resident peacocks are a bonus as one did his display for us shaking his tail and looking glorious!
The hummingbird feeders outside the cabins is a nice touch. Thank you.

The staff was really friendly. The breakfast is 7-11am and you order one dish from a selection of around 6. There was no heat or AC. There was a refrigerator. The shower had only cold water.

Somewhat like a chalet with a full kitchen and fireplace we loved our accommodations. Our first night, the clouds were so dense we decided to eat at the restaurant and it was excellent. We had the pumpkin and tomatoe soup and sea bass - perfect!! The breakfast is also fantastic. Wish the weather had been better because views and property looked wonderful. Great location - easy trip to airport …. Staff is extremely helpful.

The staff was wonderful, the food was exceptional, and the grounds are gorgeous. I would give 5 stars for those things alone. However, our cabin (#14) was more rustic than the description led me to believe. If you like that, and you don't mind the smell of a well used fireplace, then I recommend Villa Calas wholeheartedly. Although the shower was quite large, the rest of the bathroom was uncomfortably cramped. The mattress was very firm and could benefit from a padded topper. The worst thing for me was the very strong smell of burned wood in the fireplace that gave the whole cabin a stuffy, smokey smell. The place was redeemed, however, by the restaurant, exceptionally accommodating and helpful staff, and the beauty of the surroundings.

Nice view, nice food, nice staff, comfortable. I would suggest removing ashes from the fireplace so that it would smell better in the room. Overall a really nice place to stay pretty close to both Poas volcano and La Paz waterfalls which is great because to see the volcano, you must be there before the clouds, so as early as possible.

Beautiful views and quiet cabins. Had a great time and the restaurant was wonderful.

This place is incredible. The property grounds are beautiful and they have a great walking trail. The cabins are so cute and cozy. Especially with being able to make a fire in the fireplace with plenty of access to more wood. The food was beyond expectations. Every dish was so amazing, especially the homemade bread. Even the drive up to the property was gorgeous. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Good place close to the Falls. Not very convenient to shower in the morning .. water too cold. Additionally, the cabins have a "cold / white" lightening.
Overall, not a very comfortable stay.

The staff was so friendly and helpful! The food was terrific. We did have an issue with the coffee maker not working - they got it replaced right away. We would stay there again.

Booked a stay for one night in the two floor house. Unit smelled terrible and was full of bugs, including roaches crawling out of gaps in the ceiling and other places. We had to go into town to try to find spray and air fresheners. Also, bedrooms were stiflingly hot and beds were hard as a rock. With no screens on windows/doors, it was impossible to get any air flow. Additionally, there were brown spots on the bath towels and hair on the toilet. By 6pm, we did not feel safe or comfortable staying and left. Disappointed as place would not even give a partial refund. Had to throw out $130.

Overall a hidden gem. I’ll definitely stay there again!
Very few issues - room wasn’t cleaned during stay, but I’m pretty neat and clean so I didn’t mind.
Laundry service was awesome. Cottages are super cozy! Staff is wonderful and felt like family.

The owner stayed up late just to let us into our room, which was a life saver since our flight was delayed and we didn’t get to Villa Calas until 1:00am and we were both exhausted. Breakfast was great and the property is absolutely beautiful. We didn’t sleep great because it was extremely windy and loud, but obviously they have no control over the weather. Would recommend this place for the tourist looking for a good place to stay on a budget.
