Stunning drive in in late evening all very impressive, we ate at the hotel from the bar menu which was not offered initially until we asked for it.
Our room was in the cottages, heating was off, november stay so would have expected a warm welcome. could get the TV to work despite good instructions.
Staff offered to help when asked wgoch was great. Rooms were a little tired and functional which given the setting was a surprise, an opportunity missed.
Bed, however, was very comfortable and immense. The row of 3 pillows offering intreging possibilities
Basically a good place to stay but not quite as exciting as appearance suggested as somehow lacked a finishing touch
I would stay again but perhaps not the same room.

What a lovely place to stay! A beautiful and very traditionally styled venue. Nice to see an old building that has t been completely modernised inside. We had a Castle View Suite and it was beautiful, and very comfortable. Service was superb and all staff were very helpful and attentive. The little tour of the castle on the morning after our overnight stay was a nice little treat and it was very interesting to learn the history of the castle.

It was a great experience to stay in a real castle. The castle , the bedroom, the staff, the breakfast, the dinner and the TOUR was great.
Expensive but worth every penny.

Interesting place. You're more than likely not staying in the actual Castle. Rather, in building a short walk down a hill. We stayed in the middle of the week, so no weddings in the way. Our room had an amazing bathroom. The Staff wasn't rude, but also wasn't very nice. The restaurant was expensive and limited choices, but it was nice to have breakfast each morning. It was nice to have a stay in the country. So quite and calm.

Spectacular castle set in beautiful surroundings however I'm afraid I came away a little disappointed. Lots of cobwebs in our room and the in room furniture was in need replacing. This was a theme which repayed throughout the hotel. There was real lack of attention to detail. The other issue was the staff- with the exception of two waiters and one fron of house , they generally seem to lack enthusiasm for the role and paid little attention to the guests. I feel more training is needed in this area. If they can sort thisbissue out and begin replacing the old worn furniture then they a far more likely to see more guests returning.

An extremely nice place, almost too swank for me! But it was very comfortable, the service was excellent, and both the hotel and the surrounding countryside are beautiful. Well worth the trip, especially if you have an interest in history.

I stayed in the DeLucy room #2. In the morning it was noisy. I believe the staff room is just below. For a posh castle, the food was horrific. French fries with a simple 10 oz rib eye steak cost 58.50 £. It was horrible!

The castle and grounds really lovely with friendly staff.
Castle view room was spacious and comfortable.
As we had 3 dogs with us we could eat in the lounge which was a lovely space and we had booked for breakfast and had dinner one night of our 2 night stay.
My only issue was that it was the only place we could eat with our dogs and the lounge only had low chairs and sofas whereas a proper table and chairs would have been great. The staff also had to run up and down the stairs to collect food which made us reluctant to ask for anything extra as we felt sorry for them.
We slept really well and the bed was very comfortable.
We were also charged £20 per dog per night which was quite a lot as this couldn’t be selected on my initial booking. Most places charge a fee per stay rather than per night. I also think for that cost there would be a welcome basket for the dogs.
I would stay again but plan it better if I’m bringing my dogs again.

Let's just say, I'm going back, in fact, everytime I need an overnight stop enroute for Scotland holidays.
Or even just a wander around the magical Beamish Living Museum, Banbaraugh Castle or Cragside. They're are all in easy reach without going near the madness of our city's.

Beautiful location and hotel. Friendly and top-notch service.Very accomodating staff. Free guided tour in morning was a nice touch. Stayed in Room 9 at the top of tower which was v.cool but had a wonky bathroom tap and thick cobwebs around the ceiling though.

Beautiful 14th century castle with lots of charm and history. staff and food were excellent. Spacious and comfortable room but bathroom could do with updating.

We booked a room in the castle but unbeknown to us was moved to an annex complex outside. (Because we had a dog) fair enough but we still assumed it was within the castle itself - Had we known this, we would not have booked

Lovely property with enormous rooms. Beautiful drawing room for cocktails and restaurant. The castle is stunning and the grounds are immaculate.

We arrived for a 2 night anniversary treat. We parked up, took our luggage in then was informed our room was in a separate annex, so had to lug our cases back into the car to drive down to the Castle lodge area. Our room itself was adequate but very dated. The bathroom door didn't close properly, the shower was in the bath but the bath water still continued to flow whilst showering. However, we had a lovely balcony where we sat and watched the birds and the peacocks came to say hello.
We dined both evenings. They have a relaxed dining menu and a fine dining menu. I wasn't told about the vegetarian menu as not much choice on the other menus .I had to ask. We thought the food we received was not in keeping with the price we paid. You are paying for the location. It is a wedding venue after all. All staff were wonderful, big shout out to Francesca for a lovely welcome and also Diana who was our waitress both evening. The surprise chocolates were a lovely gesture. I really do not think we will be back. Too overpriced.

Our accommodation in one of the out buildings was superb. It was tastefully decorated and had air conditioning with a really comfortable bed. The en suite bathroom was big. The grounds of the castle were fabulous as were the 2 peacocks who freely roamed around. From the gardener to the reception, bar and waiting staff were very friendly and professional.

If you've ever dreamed of staying in a real castle, this place will make that dream come true. It is the genuine article. Not only was the room amazing, but the meals in the restaurant were out of this world amazing. Breakfast was superb. And if you want to live like a king, splurge on the fine dining dinner option. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic service, staff are excellent, a great and unusual place to stay with very good food and well kept beer at a reasonable price. Be aware, if you chose the Tower Room there are 101 steps from reception to you floor, quite a treck if you're not in great shape, but doable.

It’s a nice castle , however not suitable for people with semi mobile . Receptionists are nice but not the best . We were given a room supposed for disable people , but the shower was over the bathe tub . Checked with the reception only realised it’s the wrong room . There was only a lift for goods , also used a disable guest lift , however it has to be used with a staff member .

It was very good. The staff were professional and friendly and the building is unique with lots of history and character. It was very quiet and pleasant to wake up to the peacocks. The food was excellent quality

Langley Castle Hotel is situated near to the main tourist access areas to Hadrian’s Wall. We stayed for 1 night in room 25, which is a deluxe room with a castle view. What one actually gets is a partial view of the castle, as most of it is obscured by trees, which are lovely.
The room was lovely, but being honest I wouldn’t class it as being deluxe. The room was on the first floor of a row of terraced cottages. The decor of the entrance, stairs and small landing needs attending to, as does a significant area of the ceiling over the bath where the paint is peeling off. When one pays a high price for something, then it is only too right to expect high standards. The room was otherwise very comfortable and spacious.
Although fairly expensive, the dinner chosen from the “relaxed” menu was excellent, as was the breakfast the following morning. The choice was excellent, with everything being cooked to perfection.
The staff were all very attentive and friendly, with nothing being too much trouble.
On the morning of departure, we took part in a historic tour of the castle which was lead by one of the waitresses, Eilidh. She was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the property and its surroundings. She was an excellent guide, who quite honestly made our stay that bit more special.
We’d certainly consider staying at this hotel again and it’s thoroughly recommended.

We stayed in a castle view suite - the bed was terrible - I think it was a double pushed together. Expected better. This was the most expensive place we stayed at on our trip and I don’t think it was worth the money. Very over priced so can’t recommend.

The majority of the staff were very helpful. The first impression as a seasoned business traveller was not good. Whilst waiting to check in at reception I watch a chef walking through the dining room towards me ~ vaping!
Breakfast was probably one of that worst I have ever had. The soft poached eggs were cold and very undercooked. I left after paying a rather large sum to stay in the Castle very disappointed, good job I had a packet of biscuits in the car to see my through the 4 hour journey home. I won’t mention the rude comment made by the head waiter regarding a certain football team which just happened to be my place of birth.

Incredible place, top class!!

Even though it was May in Northumberland the room was quite warm, it's a good job it had air conditioning. The heating towel rail in the bathroom was on all the time and I could not turn it off.
The room was quite large and the bed was huge and comfortable. You have to go down a slope to the castle view rooms and is quite a strenuous climb to get up back up to the castle. Could be a problem for people with mobility issues.
The food was first class but dining is quite formal.
Beware of the peacocks making a noise at three o'clock in the morning in breeding season!

Langley Castle is stunning, we are staying in one of the outside rooms, lovely large room with everything that we need.
Lovely grounds, with a Peacock in .
Outstanding food & interior of the castle, staff are very friendly too.
You can even go on a tour of the castle.
