very nice breakfast, very good location if you go by train. room is big but a little bit old.
4.1
Localización y habitaciones espaciosas
El baño, la regadera falla mucho, sale poca agua caliente y tenía fugas
4.1
Breakfast was excellent.
Room very nice.
Room very warm, no aircon.
So lot's of road noise with window open.
4.1
Its location close to the train station was ideal, as we could arrive drop our bags and explore
The only downside was the lack of AC in the rooms, give the heat it meant sleeping was very difficult.
4.1
The staff was really friendly! The bed was comfortable. The location is good.
The hotel is a bit old and therefore tired. Unfortunately no A/C, but fan in the room, and possible to open the windows.
4.1
The staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious and worth it!
So, close to the city with restaurants, bars and a cinema literally on the same street.
Nothing
4.1
SO close to the station. Super friendly staff. Gave us a fan cause it was so hot.
Really dated. Peeling wallpaper, dirty looking paint. Uncomfortable bed.
4.1
Ideally located. Had a lift. Very pleasant staff.
Room nice & big but very noisy because it faced onto the street, opposite the station. Dinner we had much too dry pie. Quite unpleasant. Very tired decor and net curtains are very dingy. We were offered another quiet room but it was very small so we bought ear plugs.

This is a lovely historical building in a great location - all of the the staff that I had any interaction with were really great: welcoming, attentive & efficient without being obsequious; friendly, without being over-familiar. They obviously know what they are doing and have perfected the art of doing it well!
The ambience & feel of the hotel is very much of a bygone era and of a type of hospitality that large chain establishments are sadly (or not!) unable to provide. If you like that big international corporate hotel chain way of doing things then you will be disappointed - if you like the more intimate and personalised attention then you will be very pleased indeed.
The shower pressure was fantastic (even if it did take some time & wasted a lot of water before it turned hot).
Nice selection of beers and spirits
It must be remembered that this is an old building that has constraints that new build corporate box-buildings do not have. So, with that in mind, here goes:
- I appreciate that some travellers expect bottled water (even if our tap water is fine!) but it would definitely be a good idea to investigate alternatives to the plastic bottles;
- The single room that I was in was not overlooking the road, so was quite quiet, apart from the refrigeration equipment kicking in & out (it was a rare warm night so window had to be open). Unfortunately, the flat roof just below the window also looked to be piled up with dirt and detritus, but which could be very easily removed;
- The bedroom itself was very much suitable for an overnight stay, however it should be made aware to potential guests that the bathroom and shower are, to be polite, very "compact" there is very little room to manoeuvre & this could be a problem for some. { See the photos where I used a clothes hanger for reference}
- The negatives are far outweighed by the positives and I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN 👌

Did not have breakfast at the hotel.
A later closing time for dinner.

the bathrooms sink have separate hot and could water taps, so it was unlikely that I could hurt my head when I having my face wash. not like other (head injury hotel bathroom). breakfast were fabulous
a coat of paint on skirting board will improve the outlook brightness of the room.
4.1
The staff was especially friendly and helpful.
The hotel is a stone throw from the centre of Bath and a 2mn walk from the coach to the airport stop.
It was difficult to open the window in the room, the floor was very creaky and the bathroom could do with a revamp
4.1
Very convenient for the railway station. Close to most attractions, but outwith the buzz.
Evening meal was only average.
Single room was o.k. but a little small
4.1
Ex cellent breakfast staff very polite good location will definitely be staying again
Nothing really if I wanted to be very picky I could have had an extra pillow
4.1
Location. Decor. Efficient friendly staff.

Really helpful and personable staff, at reception, in the bar and restaurant, and also those servicing the rooms etc. The food in the brasserie was excellent, and the 3-course a' la carte menu was amazing value. The breakfast too was lovely, with tea and coffee refills without having to ask. A really relaxed and cosy atmosphere added to the stay.
There was a problem with getting hot water in the bath. I think it was just a matter of having to run the taps for a long time, but it felt wrong having to keep the taps running for such a long time and so made do with tepid water. The shower was fine the next morning though.
4.1
Breakfast was lovely. We were made to feel very welcome by Tim the receptionist who was so kind. The bar area was lovely and cosy. The room was perfect and very clean.
Nothing, everything was perfect.
4.1
Hotel was comfortable and clean. Food was very good and all staff were friendly. Lovely central location which was great for exploring this lovely city.
Traffic noise was a little loud but you got used to it and it didn't affect sleep too much but what can you expect from an hotel centered in the heart of a city.
4.1
Location
Felt a bit dated and breakfast staff distracted
4.1
Location and comfort
No car parking and train noise
4.1
Location was excellent
Unable to get breakfast and evening meals at hotel due to limited spaces in the restaurant.

I was really worried that I'm gonna be alone in the city, but Tim Dyer at the reception made me feel welcomed (Thank You!). I studied in Bath for 4 years and always wanted to stay in the hotel, so my dream finally came true. It's really cozy and beautiful, had everything I needed in the room. The location is right opposite the train station and in the heart of the city!
4.1
The front of house were amazing! - the lovely lady at reception was a pleasure!
The older chap in the restaurant - not so! He was rude and did not want us to book and dine in the restaurant - we weren’t late, - he just couldn’t be bothered so we went elsewhere.
4.1
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was great. Lovely breakfast in the restaurant and tea and coffee making in room.
The pillows kept sliding down between the headboard and the mattress. Water pressure in the shower was poor and no plug to use the bath.
4.1
Room was great just a bit hot
4.1
Spacious room. Comfy beds. Chocolates and biscuits. Lovely breakfast.
Room smelt of damp. Somewhere to put. Clothes on when using bath/shower. Pricey.
4.1
Fantastic location, lovely building, great bar and breakfast, lovely rooms, has a lift, exceptionally friendly helpful staff.
Everything was perfect - except - no air con, it was sooooo hot in the room, we had to sleep with the window open , but then the noise because of its central location kept us awake. We tried closing the double glazed window but then the heat was unbearable. There was one small, noisy ineffective fan.
A decent fan for each occupant (we were in a triple room) and some earplugs would have this hotel 11/10 because everything else was perfect but unfortunately all 3 of us had no sleep at all and were exhausted all day.
4.1
Good value
Compared to a queen bedded room, the size of the twin bedded room is smaller and more expensive then the queen bedded room.
4.1
Location - at center, across from train station. Good base to explore. Parking available with reservation at 12£/night (1pm to 1pm next day). Elevator is available. Stay at triple room.
Elevator is small and slow. No power outlet near the third bed.
4.1
Great old time hotel in good location across from train/bus station. Easy walk to main attractions of Bath. Staff helpful with suggestions for food and sights to see.
Liked everything.
4.1
The breakfast was great. The location was excellent. Our room was nice we just had very noisy birds outside our window. The staff at the from desk were exceptionally helpful especially, Chris.
Just the birds that were very noisy.

4.1
Nice hotel in a great location. Breakfast was very good . Nice staff.
Tired room in desperate need of refurb Evening meal in restaurant was lacking in choice as they had been busy previous days. Only a handful of guests eating so not a deal of atmosphere.
4.1
Friendliness of staff helpful location excellent for travel and city centre and shops

It was all perfectly wonderful.
My only small nit was that the spoons for the coffee and the coffee press pot had not been washed since the last visitor. We washed them, no problem, and they are easy to overlook, but it made me wonder a little about what else was missed.
