Second stay at this gorgeous hotel. Christmas decorations are beautiful and so convenient to walk to train station and Providence Place for IMAX theater.

Beautiful, unique hotel. Large rooms, all kind beds and walking distance to everything. Loved it!

Beautiful historical hotel. The rooms could use some TLC. Peeling and bubbling paint. Ballroom on 17th floor was beautiful!

Always a good stay here, nice and clean rooms, polite staff, and a fantastic area of the city close to a lot of restaurants and nightlife.

Beautiful historic hotel redo inside. Great location, near the Riverwalk, College Hill, mall etc. Great dining/cafe options nearby and desk staff most helpful. Only 15 minutes from the RI Airport. We will return on our next trip to Historic Providence.

First time staying at this hotel. It was in the perfect location and the staff was extremely helpful and very friendly.

This is a beautifully decorated hotel in a great location to explore downtown Providence. Very close to several eateries and the Art Myseum. The staff were great and kind allowing me to store my bags until my room was ready. I stayed in multiple hotels on my visit to RI and this was by far the best. Comfortable bed, nice suites, and helpful staff.

We’ve stayed here before and seems like they haven’t kept up with upkeep. Maybe this is the new Hilton buyout? Used to give out coffee tokens for the Pointdexter Coffee shop and that’s no more. Hotel website says there’s a Peloton with a photo and there’s no Peloton and the gym is pretty lackluster with no towels. Rooms are large which is great, but it’s an old building so outlets are low (AKA water kettle for coffee didn’t reach an outlet.) Overall, it’s beautiful and quirky and there’s not a lot of options in downtown Providence, but it just needs some love.

Super convenient. Nice atmosphere

Nice spot to stay for a long weekend. Convenient to everything. And we could see waterfire and the state building from our room. Would recommend.

We have stayed here before, and it is a beautiful and unique hotel. However, this time there were issues with sediment in the water, and I had to clean out my tub a couple of times to use it. Apparently there was an issue with the pipes or something. I asked if we could have any discount so I am still waiting to hear. Regardless, we will stay here again, but it was unfortunate that happened this time. But they were great at housekeeping and the lobby is stunning. The rooms are very very spacious and it’s a great location.

If you are doing something at the University this is a good option. Walkable. Lots of restaurants nearby and the river walk is beautiful.

During peak check in period (between 3 pm and 4 pm on Friday), .there was only one very young person at the desk. There were at least 6 sets of customers waiting. During this period, it was hard not to notice the phone at the desk was constantly ringing and the person at the desk, would answer, immediately say "front desk, please hold and hang-up the phone. This continued for the entire 30 minutes we were in line to check in. Other interesting observations, apparently the hot water in the building had been unavailable for several days just before we checked in (this was pointed out to us while in the elevator to our room). There was no mention of this at the front desk, but even though the water was running it was a dark brown and stained the shower enclosure. For the entire hotel there was only one ice maker (on the 4th floor, we were on 17) which worked, again no mention of this during check in. In this case tribal knowledge from the guests distributed the information. Finally, while visiting family in another room, the battery operated fire/smoke alarm began to chirp loudly, signalling that battery needed to be changed. Every minute or so it reported (note this was now 8pm). 45 minutes passed before "engineering" arrived with a ladder, and removed and then replaced the detector. Before departing "engineering" commented that "lately alarms had been chirping at an unusual frequency" and when asked why they just didn't proactively replace every detector ...

Front desk staff was horrible. Ignored people in line. Put you on hold and never came back on line. Fire detectors going off in room and took forever to get maintenance to come up to replace battery. Friendly service would have made such a difference! Brown water and one ice machine for entire hotel also made it difficult to stomach considering price of the room. I can see it was once a gorgeous property Nothing a little TLC couldn’t fix!

Stayed for 3 nights. Room on 4th fl. There was a musty/moldy/ damp smell. No bathroom ventialtion. After shower room was wet/gross. Traveled with 2 kids under 5 y/o. H cleaninless needs improvement. As others mentioned, wallpaper peeling off, dead/ live bugs. I cleaned dresser cabinets, nightstands, windowsills, bathroom and kitchenette counters as well as light switches. Some of the dirt ranged from green to black. Cleanliness rating a 6 /10 with 10 being the cleanest. We went downstairs to the bar/restaurant within the hotel to eat dinner. Our meal was interjected by a couple who identfied they were homeless & kept talking to us (we were polite but had just driven from NY for 4 hours in a storm. We were hungry and tired). They were drinking rounds of alcohol. Asked for check and left, didnt finish our food. From 12a- 3a, there were people screaming/ fighting near the lot. The showerhead in the bathroom was different than depicted online. The wall mounted blasting showerhead scared kids. Id recommend requesting a detachable/hose showerhead if traveling with kids. I was told ONLY available in Handicap/Accessible rooms. The hotel doesnt have a parking garage on premises, theres 1 down the block (additional $34 x day). The staff is friendly/ try to accommodate guests but smelly room, no ventilation, parking, people screaming, among other things accumulates. Left a day earlier due to the no hot water issue on 8/ 29. Overall not bad but we're happy to be home.

We checked in, during the evening. The two ladies were very helpful and friendly. They greeted us with big smiles and help us find restaurants that were open late. The Security gentlemen was also helpful. He told us we can exit through the back to get to the parking garage faster.
I was disappointed in the morning during our checkout. The lady, she seems like the manager, did not greet us. She looked like we were bothering her when I asked, where to drop the key card and if I need to do anything else for check out.
Also, there were only 2 towels. It was not enough for my husband and me. Next time, I will need to request for extra body towels.
Overall, we did enjoy our experience at this hotel. We will definitely book at this hotel again.

There was mold in my room - I request to be moved but they were too booked. So they removed the moldy curtains. Still filling uncomfortable to sleep in a mold exposed room ( with other issues built up; hair on pillows, stains, dead bugs on shades, cracked window, toilet lid not fitting, wallpaper coming off in multiple places, broken ac cover…) I asked the next day for any free rooms. Though they had one to move into - I requested to have at least 50% refunded due to having to sleep in an unsafe room and they said they couldn’t because it was booked through 3rd party. So, I will be asking Hotels.com what can be done.
2 women where very helpful in all this, but sad that the end result was not met.

This is my second stay at a Graduate hotel. Just as the first time, if was a wonderful experience. The history of the Biltmore building was unique and fun to see! The Poindexter Coffee Shop have great breakfast sandwiches.

We were quite disappointed in our stay. The room was dated, not maintained. Might have been grand 30 years ago, but at this point seems to be riding on old glory. Specifically the toilet was loose, bathroom door couldn't close, only one electric socket under the bed, the AC was really loud, the only light came from 2 bedside lamps. And there was no possibility to get breakfast?!

Easy to get to like the easy drop off and pickup. Enjoy walking to all the eateries

The Graduate Providence is the former famous Biltmore Hotel. In 2019 new owners purchased and renovated the hotel. Fortunately, they kept the ornate and beautiful lobby, and added quirky, modern touches to the decor of the rooms. But staff and maintenance still need work. There was no soap at all in our room (like many hotels, dispensers are mounted on the shower wall, but the soap bottle was empty. It took 3 tries, over 6 hours, with a different front desk clerk each time, until we were able to get someone to deliver some little bars of soap. While getting into bed that night, I found out the carpet in front of the air conditioner was wet. The next morning we informed yet another front desk clerk about the wet carpet. Maintenance came up quickly, and worked on it while we were out. Considering the carpet was wet I expected an offer of a different room, but one wasn't offered. We wore our shoes and kept the AC on to dissipate the slightly mildew smell. The room itself (a junior suite) was a corner room and nice and spacious, Bathroom is tiny by modern standards, but the footprint is original to the old building design. Location is great in downtown Providence, and we felt safe walking around after dark. If you like staying in old historic hotels, this is the one. Management needs to focus a bit more though on ensuring a good guest experience.

We chose to stay here for the unique decor and location. The lobby and mezzanine areas are beautiful! Overall the hotel met expectations and the room was comfortable. However, the details of the room are falling apart - paint/wallpaper chipping, water damage on the bathroom ceiling making the room feel a little unclean and dated. The parking garage is not connected to the hotel, but is a very short walk away.

The room was very spacious and the hotel had a cool history.

The hotel seemed a bit old and tired at first but then we realized it was intentionally projecting a vintage vibe. The facility must have been spectacular in it's day and it still exudes that "old world" charm. Interesting and retro with unique and beautiful decor in every direction you look. The rooms are small due to the age of the hotel and the bathrooms are tiny but the place was very clean and quiet and the beds and bedding were comfortable. Although the place was retro with old-style furniture, it was all very tastefully appointed and the furniture was actually new and in great condition. No drawers in any cabinets was unusual. Vault in closet. Parking behind the facility in a parking garage for $34.00/night- a two minute walk- safe and easy to get to. Nice little coffee shop with the best cappuccino ever. Very walkable area A very pleasant stay. Only criticism was that our door security lock was broken and the "engineer" arrived after a long wait and was totally stoned and stunk of weed. Very nice guy though.

I loved how the original property built in 1922 was preserved! Beautiful foyer and many original things were left to show how it looked years ago.

Beautiful old hotel but rooms need update especially bathrooms. Large room with comfortable mattresses. Unique stylish decor. Conveniently located to tour Brown.

Shabby. Not well taken care off. Old. Poor amenities. Poor tasting instant coffee. Outlet for tea kettle didn’t work. Staff professional but impersonal. The hotel clearly well past its prime. Absolutely the most run-down Graduate I have stayed in.

A lot of homeless people near the hotel and parking sucks you have to pay $35 a day to use their parking structure

Enjoyed stay at the Graduate.

We were so disappointed in our stay. No valet or help with bags. Have to go in to get parking tag for garage that has homeless people sleeping in the way of the stairwell. Security comes in and out of the entrance to check on things bc they are unsafe. Our first room did not have air conditioning. They moved us to a second room with only one bed when our reservation was for two and then to a third. All around bad experience and not cheap and no credit was offered.

Unfortunately, the charm of the property was lost in the fact that the place was very dated and was in a very unsafe area. Parking was about a block away from the hotel and in the evening was poorly lit and felt unsafe to walk to. The restaurant staff was terrible and there is no room service. The coffee shop had good quality items but seemed like an inexperienced staff.

No bell man upon check out available at all. No AC properly working. Constant loud noise from AC. Front desk asked us to go downstairs for towels.

This was my 4th stay at the Graduate and as always it did not disappoint.
My only two issues were that the automatic doors into the lobby were not working and there is no receptacle for ciggarette butts outside so people were tossing them on the ground.
