The home is private, yet surrounded by amenities galore. With the Galena Territory Owner's passes you will have access to indoor pool, outdoor pool with slides and a zero entry pool for kids, 225 acre lake with marina, 4 championship golf courses, indoor basketball court, state of the art fitness center, game room, and 31 miles of biking/hiking trails. The Shenandoah Riding Center, a convenient general store, the Eagle Ridge Resort and Stonedrift Spa are also located within minutes. All this within the Galena Territories you just nestled into.

You are only 5 miles outside of historic Galena. It is known as "The City that Time Forgot" for its rich 19th century heritage. More than a thousand buildings in Galena are listed in the National Register of Historic Places by the U. S. Department of the Interior. Galena's Main St is the place to dine, drink and shop.

There's plenty to do in the winter months as well. The best skiing in Illinois is 20 minutes away at Chestnut Mountain. Chestnut has over 220 rolling acres and 475-foot vertical drop are home to 19 ski trails and a 7-acre terrain park featuring over 25 rails and structures.

During the warmer months, there is plenty of outdoor seating on the deck and inside our screened in porch.

The overall stay was good; however, the home needs a little love. Hooks in walls, but no artwork; so many scuffs on walls that could easily be rectified with touch up paint; one small bedroom has no closet, or even hooks to hang anything. It's kind of like the 3 bears. Master br. is huge with night stands, dresser, TV, trash can, closet, luggage stand, and nice mattress, 2nd br. smaller with 2 night stands, closet, hang rack on wall, luggage rack, trash can, & TV. 3rd br. has a bed & 2 night stands. Nowhere to hang clothes, not even a hanging rack on wall. That was disappointing.

This is a great summer vacation spot with access to many accommodations like pools, golf courses and many other amenities. I would highly recommend it to families. It is also very close to Galena which has tons of things to do and many great restaurants.

The property was lovely. The area is beautiful. We loved the waterfall so close. While at the property itself, we spent most of our time on the screened in porch. We just wished it would have been cleaned prior to our arrival. We always do some cooking and the kitchen was well stocked. We saw some wild turkeys running between the houses and the symphony of birds was wonderful. Debbie C

This place was a great place to relax, with places indoors and outdoors to sit and read or watch the birds. Our family also enjoyed the games provided at the property. The heating and cooling systems were easy to regulate for our comfort level. This property includes access to an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a game room, boat rental, and more. We spent some time swimming and kayaking. The Galena Territory is a beautiful place, and our hosts were very helpful. We would recommend having insect repellent handy when spending time outdoors. We would definitely enjoy staying here again!

My family and i had a short stay at this property for spring break. It was wonderful, plenty of space. We even got to enjoy the outdoor patio, 65 degrees in March! FYI - if you plan to cook buy/ bring spices. Only salt and pepper available. Plenty of towel, blankets and pillows. Lots of games and books too! House is only about 10 min from Main St Galena where all the shops and restaurants are. Be sure to do the goat hike nearby at Hoof it goat treks. So much fun!

Galena was the halfway point for us to meet up with my daughter and her husband. It was the first time any of us had been there. What a beautiful area and awesome town! Our accommodations were exactly what we were looking for, great setting in the woods, yet conveniently located close to town. We will definitely be back!!!

My family of 4 had a great stay here. If you’re preparing meals at the home expect to have every piece of equipment you may need but to bring along everything else. After a grocery run for oil, salt, spices etc we were set for a lovely few days. Not a diss, just a heads up to future renters so you bring it all along. We got about 3 inches of snow while we were there, which was gorgeous and glorious for the kids. Snow removal throughout the Territories was quick and thorough. Even came home to a plowed driveway.

We stayed in this house with my parents and our infant child. We had enough bedrooms to accommodate the 5 of us and it was optimal location to trails, golf course, and city center (Galena) . Would recommend this house for anyone looking to travel to Galen.

Three of us stayed comfortably at this lovely house. The primary suite is especially nice. The two other bedrooms have double beds and pleasant decor. We were visiting friends and family in nearby towns so didn’t take advantage of all the extras the property had to offer. The house was very clean and sunny and inviting. The deck surrounded by woods was a great place to chat with a glass of wine. The little store at the entrance of the Territory is convenient for picking up snacks. Communication with the owner was superb. Highly recommend.

My sister, niece and I stayed here for 3 nights. The check in was easy and the home was lovely. The beds were comfy cozy! The kitchen had everything we needed, although the most cooking we did was scrambled eggs. The bathrooms were very nice, with great water pressure in the showers. We would certainly stay here again if we come back to the area.

My girlfriends and I had our girls weekend here and loved it. The house had everything we needed. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. We saw wild turkeys and a beaver in the backyard. Beds and furniture were very comfy. The stairs were a bit steeper than we expected but we managed ok. We would definitely come back!

We were super impressed with this home. Beautiful inside and out, with stylish and comfortable furnishings. I really liked the memory foam mattress in the huge master bedroom and everybody loved trying out the whirlpool bath. The upstairs sitting room is very inviting. Everything was clean and in good repair. We really enjoyed relaxing and taking walks around the neighborhood, as well as checking out the falls. The third bedroom is on the small side, which was fine for my teen daughter but it might be a bit crowded for two people with luggage (there is no closet in this room).

The home was so cute and cozy! It was exactly as listed and exceeded our expectations. The neighborhood was beautiful, the area was surrounded by nature, we felt safe, and the home had lots of windows, which made everything so bright and magical with the surrounding trees. The host was also easily accessible for a few minor questions we had. We just wish we took our bathing suits because we didn’t realize you could use their passes for the pool. I look forward to staying here again!

Stayed here to attend a wedding in Galena. House is very clean, A/C worked well. It's a rustic area - You have to drive to pool (2 miles) - walking paths are absolutely beautiful! Would highly recommend over hotels in area (which are 2 night min $$$). Kitchen has everything you need including kruig and drip coffee maker. Overall enjoyable stay.

What a beautiful location and home! Was easy to access, clean and spacious. The screened in porch was a great bonus for some great family card games and wine! An added bonus was the ability to use the amenities included as part of the Galena Territory like the pool. We recently stayed for a girls weekend away trip. We enjoyed the screened in porch in the mornings, watching the wildlife and in the evening, a glass of wine in hand. It is in a quiet, secure neighborhood and yet so close to everything. One idea, it would have been great to have some small shower gels and shampoo. Or note to others, bring your own. It was a great time!
