Stayed in small camping pod and loved it. Loved the atmosphere there. Overall, much greater than I expected, and I already was excited for the stay. the restaurant overlooking the waterfalls and river, the troll garden stroll, the hot tubs. All superb. It is in a remote area and provided us an excellent view of the northern lights, which we watched from the hot tub. Ideal experience, I recommend giving it a shot.

It was cute and cozy pod, we could see northern lights during our stay. You have to carry your own sleeping bag or you can rent a bed linen at the reception

This was a great place to stay on a budget and the piece and quite was well worth it

When home wishing I could escape, this is always my favorite choice! It takes 12 hours of flights and two hours driving, but there is no place I’d rather be.

The Pod was beautiful. The smell from the wood sent us directly in our best deep sleep on our long trip.

Great pod and facilities i.e. kitchen and washrooms. I thought the hot tubs might be nicer. Troll garden was fun.

Very well kept property. We stayed three nights and wanted to stay longer.

The pods were extremely confirmed cozy! There were three radiators so we were warm. The property is beautiful and the staff was welcoming and accommodating. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and both were fantastic. I will definitely stay here again when I return!

Loved it so much. Nice cute pods that kept nice and warm. Very comfortable. Lovely scenery all around.

Great bargain option! Gorgeous waterfall area on the property, good breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. Very peaceful area. Stayed in the camping pod, very basic but had a comfortable bed. The mini fridge in my room only could fit maybe one can of soda and it didn't seem to work, and the shower was a communal shower and make sure you bring shower shoes it did not look like it was deep cleaned in a long time, but it if you consider you are essentially camping its really not a big deal. Spa tubs were nice as well but only open limited hours. If you are looking for a nice budget option to stay in this area stay here!

Quaint cottage. Gorgeous views! Will return!!

Pod was really fun to stay in. Car parked adjacent to your pod. Private enough despite all surrounding pods being occupied. Paid additional for supplied linen and towel - very basic and looked well used/tired. Towels were good. Shared showers involved two open showers next to each other in a small room - did not use as did not have appropriate footwear. A number of private toilets scattered around the site. Overall found the shower/bathroom underwhelming and was glad to move onto our next accommodation. Two shared kitchens were well equipped including a small microwave oven.

Enjoyed our stay in the pods, it was one of the highlights of our trip.

Interesting place…. Good amenities and pods are warm and comfortable. Great view from restaurant and some quirky mess that was fun to investigate. Food was ok but that’s Iceland… everyday food with high prices…. Overall would def recommend if you’d happy to be in remote place that’s pretty and enjoy hot tubs.

Love the uniqueness of the property. Comfortable yet offers great facilities for cooking our meals. The view of the property is spectacular and nice troll garden.

Great camp ground with friendly staff, and good restaurant. Hot tubs are NOT worth visiting. Uncleaned, and not well maintained. All other aspects of the stay were great.

I love the settings of this place, just next to a beautiful waterfall. The hot tub has water from natural hot spring. very reasonable price. You could bring your own sleeping bag and rent from them at a price of 2,000ISk per person (around $15). Will come back if I visit Iceland again

Lovely warm and cosy in the pod
Great to have the hot tub
Fantastic location with a view of the waterfall and we even saw the northern lights

I had a wonderful stay here. The pods are perfect for viewing the aurora and night stars since this location is far from light pollution. I came here in winter time and it was nice and warm inside the pod. I opted to eat breakfast and dinner here. Both were great, and I would recommend the dinner (by reservation only) if you can since it was amazing!

An enjoyable experience somewhere between a decent hotel and camping. Shared kitchen, bath, and shower areas were clean and everything in working order. We stayed in -20C weather and camping pods were cozy and comfortable. We saw the northern lights both nights. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We only had one meal there—no complaints. Drinks and vinyl in the main house at night are a must for music lovers. The troll walk is is a riot, even for adults! Borgarnes is 20 minutes away and is a great town to explore during the day—just another reason to stay at Fossatun. The Settlement Museum is a must for anyone wishing to learn more about Icelandic history. Narrated headphone tours in lots of languages come with the price of admission. All in all, a great area and Fossatun is a fun and memorable place to stay.

The pods were super cute and so warm...if you leave the windows shut! The location is amazing, and the restaurant has a view over a river, the bridge, a trolls face imbedded into the side of the embankment and parts of the troll walk. Yes the bathrooms are all shared facilities and yes there are three hot tubs that you can use between 5pm - 11pm but it is literally just across from all the pods which is great .

This was such a fun place to stay. The camping pods were like perfect tiny houses. The property had gorgeous falls nearby and the view was beautiful. The troll theme, area for hanging out with all the records, and the walking trail made this a special place. It was also super kid friendly.

Hands down my favorite stay driving across Iceland! The bed was so comfy and the common area amenities were clean and helpful. We paid a bit extra for the blankets and pillows since we didn't have sleeping bags and it was well worth it. Breakfast was good too!

I had an amazing time staying at the camping pods! Truly a special and unique spot. My cabin was cozy, everything at the place is clean and the views of the waterfall and mountains are breathtaking. I loved having a relaxing breakfast looking out at the waterfall. The dinner was great as well. I don’t mind sharing a bathroom as long as things are kept clean- and they are.
