About this cabin rental
Faraway Lodge is the perfect place for multi-generational family gatherings. On the main floor, there are 3 roomy bedrooms/2 bathrooms, 2 large living rooms, a new kitchen, and walk out to wrap-around decks. There are two driveways with lots of parking, and the upper one does not require stairs to get into the house.
You’ll love the views while you are grilling on the large propane grill, relaxing in the hammock, or enjoying your morning coffee with the sunrise.
This cabin is a dream!
This 2900 sf log cabin is situated in the back of a 2-acre wooded lot adjacent to Tonto National Forest. You'll feel like you are in the woods, but Pine restaurants and shops are only 1.5 miles away. It's quiet and secluded and has views for miles.
has 4 bedrooms, 3 of them with king beds, one with two doubles, 2 full bathrooms and 2 with a walk-in shower. There are two lofts with beds, as well.
The front living room has a chalet window looking out at forest and mountain views, with access to the deck. A pellet stove keeps you warm in the winter with a cozy flame to add glow to the room.
The living room flows into a dining room with a table that seats 10, plus 3 barstools at the kitchen bar. The remodeled kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare fabulous meals, including small appliances such as a crockpot, waffle maker (the flip kind you find in hotel breakfast rooms), a blender, coffeemaker, toaster, griddle, hand mixer, and more.
There is a spacious living room in the back of the main floor that also has a large chalet window looking out to Tonto National Forest with no houses or buildings in sight. This room has a large TV, games, and children's toys. Climb a ladder to the loft above with two twin beds on the floor. Kids love it!
The Primary bedroom is upstairs, and has a king bed, a lounge chair, and ensuite bathroom. There is a private covered deck attached with comfortable furniture, heaters, and even a twin bed with mosquito netting for a nice afternoon nap when the monsoons roll in. The loft has a very comfortable queen sofa bed and a chair/ottoman for relaxing with a book.
This is a special place to create memories and get the relaxation you crave.
You'll have access to all areas of the house and lot except the garage, which is locked.
Once you book, you will receive our digital guest guidebook app that you can add to your phone screen. It has lots of info about the cabin, including amenities, instructions, wifi, safety and rules, communication with the host. You'll also find an entire Local Area Attractions section, so you'll know where to eat, the best hikes, shopping, and day trips.
You are free to contact your host, Debbie, for anything that you can't find in the guidebook.
The Faraway Lodge is in a beautiful walkable Pine neighborhood with paved roads just 1.6 miles from the nearest restaurant and grocery market. Even though it is in a neighborhood, the cabin is situated on the back of two acres, adjacent to Tonto National Forest. You'll feel like you have the forest to yourselves!
Step out the door, across the lot, and you are on a beautiful walking trail that connects with the Arizona Trail. You’ll likely see elk, deer, javalina, rabbits, and the occasional cow or two at the pond. A 15-minute walk the other direction will take you to a trail with the best views of the Pine valley.
The neighborhood has a mix of residents and other vacation home guests. It’s expected that you wave when you see neighbors while driving, it’s a friendly place. You’ll see elk wandering through the area, you can wave to them but don’t get close or try to feed them, even though they seem docile. Babies start to drop in June, so keep an eye out for the spotted cuties in the summer. You may hear them crying, they sound a bit like a falcon.
All of the streets you'll be driving on are paved, and snow plows clear the roads in the winter.
There are two long driveways to the house, with plenty of parking for cars and trailers. Let us know if you are pulling a trailer with toys, and we’ll give you some helpful suggestions for parking. Our camping trailer may be parked on the upper driveway, but you will still have plenty of parking.
There is a wood fire pit to use in the area to the side of the house. We don't usually provide wood, but if you see some stacked below the parking area, you can use it (we sometimes have it).
When Tonto National Forest is in Stage 1 or higher fire restrictions, you cannot have a fire outside of any kind. This includes smoking. You can receive a hefty fine from Gila County Sheriff's office. We'll let you know, plus there are lots of signs as you drive in. It is your responsibility to be informed about this. Stage I usually starts sometime in early June and lasts until it cools off or if we get significant rain.
I'm ok with vaping outside away from open windows, but no cigarettes. Check with me about cigars. During summer months I will say no to all smoking.
No loud parties or amplified music any time of day.
You’ll love the views while you are grilling on the large propane grill, relaxing in the hammock, or enjoying your morning coffee with the sunrise.

Place was exactly as pictured. Host helpful with great app. Kitchen had absolutely everything. Bathrooms stocked. Stayed midsummer and the AC worked great. Views were amazing. Elk everywhere in town. Deer wandering below the deck. Floorplan ideal for separate activities. Can have two movie nights at once!

The house is spectacular! We all enjoyed the lovely surroundings, the inviting kitchen and how nicely stocked the kitchen is. The beds and linens were wonderful, and there was plenty of seating inside and out. And having AC during the summer even up in Pine was much appreciated. We would love to return to this special place. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. The views from the large deck were unbelievable. Our large family with kids had plenty of space to spread out and were very comfortable. The play room was full of games and toys for all ages. We cooked every meal for a week at the cabin and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need including spices and cooking tools. We also brought our furry friends and they loved the space. Communication with the host was the best I’ve ever experienced. It backs to the National Park and trails nearby. I would highly recommend and book again in the future.

Faraway Lodge in Pine, AZ exceeded all expectations! The stunning setting amidst nature provided a tranquil escape, instantly relaxing and rejuvenating our group of four friends and their 7 year old daughter and our sweet pups!
The proximity to amazing hiking trails made outdoor adventures only a few steps away-the hiking was incredible! Meals with sunset views were magical, and watching Elk grazing from the porch added wonder. We enjoyed morning coffee watching vibrant birdlife, such a peaceful way to start our day. Being pet-friendly allowed us to enjoy time with our "entire family." The game room loft delighted our friend's daughter and she indulged in the Disney movie library and all the amazing game amenities.
Our host Debbie was phenomenal, from the moment we booked the cabin to our day of departure she had excellent communication to help ensure we were comfortable and enjoying all aspects of our stay! She has also curated an incredible virtual guidebook, that has everything you will need to know to enjoy your pine adventure!
Stargazing was awe-inspiring, and the location offered such memorable atmosphere. Faraway Lodge is a must-visit for a serene retreat. Unforgettable surroundings, impeccable amenities, and caring hospitality make it unforgettable. Whether hiking, enjoying sunsets, or unwinding on the porch, it exceeds expectations! We can't recommend it enough and are already talking about making plans to visit again in the Fall!

This was perfect for our family of five (3 children, ages 5-11). The home was very well appointed with everything we would need and want. Our favorite part was the direct access to national forest. We hiked out the back door every morning and evening. A wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the valley. Debbie was friendly, welcoming and answered my questions before I needed to ask. Our family highly recommends this property and would love to come back again.

My experience renting this property was AMAZING and I will be doing it again. Deborah made booking easy and was in communication through it all. The property is beautiful and has everything anyone can need or want. Children had a blast in the snow as well as in the loft with all the games and ping pong table. Enough space to accommodate 14 and not feel crowded. Renting from Deborah is a MUST, she has another property available if you don't need one this big but this was perfect for us. I will definitely be reaching out in the near future for another stay. Thank you Deborah for helping make this stay so memorable!!
