My husband and I had a great time at this fantastic Bed and Breakfast Hotel. This time we decided to avoid resorts and feel instead how an islander lives. The location is perfect for exploring the city center with many attractions and restaurants around. Walking around the bay was amazing and walking down and uphill was our perfect amount of daily exercise! We would like to thank the hosts Jess and Mark for being so friendly and welcoming. Also, Lauren who was helping them, she was very sweet and attentive. The room was care for and beautifully prepared, very clean and with everything you need to make your stay at home. They also provide beach accessories such as chairs, blanket and sunscreen. Every morning we have a different and delicious breakfast next to the pool with a stunning view. So if you really want to feel at home but in the tropics, in a quiet and romantic environment, this is definitely your place! We highly recommend it and we will return in a future visit.

This property was absolutely breathtaking! The rooms were clean, bright and airy. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and some of the ingredients were grown right there on the property. Mark and Jess were so wonderful and truly cared about making our trip enjoyable. The B&B was a short walk to downtown/restaurants/shops. Unfortunately, there were quite a few stairs to get back up to the property if walking. I did not mind the stairs as it was a great way to get some exercise on vacation, just not so great for those who are physically disabled. I would definitely recommend this property and look forward to staying at their other property when open, Hotel 1829.

This was my 2nd time back to At Home at the Tropics? Great location and such an intimate experience. With only 5 rooms, we welcomed getting to know the others guests. The pool is new and clean. And, Jess’ breakfasts were all sooo delicious! We will definitely come back in the future, and recommend this BnB to friends visiting St Thomas!

Hosts were great. Breakfast was great. Located 102 steep steps to town. Do not come if you cannot climb a lot of steps. Room was very small and shower was in the bedroom. Bathroom was only large enough for camped and small sink.

Mark and Jess truly provide beautiful place for you to stay. Mark is always available for tips on the island and Jess's delectable homemade breakfast is the highlight of each and everyday. This is truly a gem in the tropics, they make each and everyday you stay with them memorable. The rooms are just perfect and views of the harbor are beautiful. If I could give 10 stars I absolutely would! This bed and breakfast is an absolute dream for your short or long stay while in St.Thomas. It's located within Charlotte Amalie and in walking distance or a short taxi ride to most things. Our room was impeccable, comfortable, and inviting. Your hosts Mark and Jess are genuine, welcoming and overall just wonderful people. The delicious breakfast every morning appears to alternate between sweet and savory. Trust me the breakfast won't disappoint you. In closing I will only stay at this property when I return to St.Thomas and I highly recommend you book here too. You will love it!

We enjoyed the historic property. It was clean, quaint, and quiet. The view of the harbor was outstanding. Excellent innkeepers and wonderful food for our breakfasts. Swam in the pool daily and watched the sunset from our balcony most evenings. Highly recommend staying At Home in the Tropics.

I can’t say enough good things for our stay here! The property was always locked and safe, our room was so clean and cute, our breakfast was amazing!! All the food was homemade by the host, Jess. My personal favorite was the morning we had a coconut smoothie with eggs in a homemade bread bowl. The view was amazing and the property was so picturesque. Additionally, the bed was so comfortable, probably the most comfortable bed and pillows I’ve ever had on vacation. To top it off, the hosts were so hospitable and welcoming. Can’t recommend this place enough! Thanks guys!

Our 8 day stay at At home in the Tropics was excellent and made more pleasant by the helpfulness of the owners Jess and Mark. The breakfasts were a treat to be looked forward to each day and were varied and tasteful, cooked fresh by Jess each morning. The property is 200 years old but well maintained and a credit to the owners. Everything worked as it should except for a TV glitch that we overcame with Mark's help. We would highly recommend this B & B for any able bodied guest as being on a hilly island results in plenty of steps to negotiate which seemed to get easier after a few days.

Very charming property, quiet and a real getaway. This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we were pleasantly surprised. Breakfast was delicious and it included a beautiful view of the harbor. Location was near shopping centers yet peaceful at night. The owners were amicable and definitely would return. Don't even know where to start. Mark and Jessica were fantastic hosts. They were mindful of everyone's personal space but always seem to be right there when you had a question. The property is perfectly located and the view was fantastic which over looked the bay and the town. Room was exactly as seen in the photos. We walked down the 109 steps down into the town several times to eat at the many local restaurants and bars. Hitting the chicken truck on the main waterfront road is a must! If you want a quiet place to stay and be fed a great breakfast (Local coffee they served was the best) then look no further. No resort fee, no parking fee, free use of beach chairs, snorkel gear, Coolers and other items is a big added bonus. As McCarthy said when he left the Philippines...."I shall return" applies to At Home in the Tropics for us!

In a word, At Home in the Tropics is perfect! It starts with the setting, which is not only gorgeous, but very conveniently located a few blocks from the main St Thomas shopping/eating district. Our room was spotless (cleaned very day!) and plenty big, and had everything we needed for a comfortable week away. The pool and breakfast area are delightful. The breakfasts themselves were one of the highlights of our trip… fresh and delicious, a different breakfast every day (and mine were vegetarian, as requested). Jess and Mark were lovely hosts, offering many tips and suggestions for local touring and transportation. We can’t recommend At Home in the Tropics enough! Stop looking… this is the place!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Our stay could not have been better. We do not enjoy large hotels or resorts. At Home in the Tropics is small and quaint.Jess and Mark are amazing host. The view from the deck where we enjoyed our morning coffee and spectacular breakfast, was a wonderful beginning of each day. Everything Jess made was so tasty and Mark always made sure we had plenty coffee. They were both very helpful with information about things to do, restaurant’s and beaches. Truly one of the best vacation spots we have ever been to. It was for our honeymoon and me and my wife loved every second. Breakfast was incredible and everyone was so kind and hospitable. We loved getting to walk to restaurants in the area AND it was still so easy to go to any of the beaches via vans. Can not express enough how amazing this B&B is!!

We loved our stay with Marc and Jess. They are amazing hosts and always available to give recommendations or assist in creating an itinerary as well as helping with taxis. It’s a very convenient location with a breathtaking view. My favorite part of the stay was the breakfast which is thoughtfully made each morning and a great way to start your day. Our room was comfortable and clean. Couldn’t recommend their place more! Would love to go back.
