Beautiful

Charming historical plantation house. Staff welcoming and accommodating!

Dog hair all over furniture in common areas. Not food available. Pool was dirty. No greeting or explanation given about property. No assistance with luggage and all rooms are upstairs. Property is not as described. This is really a wedding venue with room for the wedding party to get ready and not a boutique hotel.

Peaceful, relaxing. the host Holly met all of our needs, and the other staff were very good as well. Pool was very nice, and the rooms were great and kept very nicely.
3.8
Beautiful building and grounds—a little fatter from town than expected however

This an interesting and different option. Great if you want a secluded place away from the bustle. Country house feel. Not much in the way of food or amenities but very relaxing. Close enough to town and entertainment, restaurants etc.
3.8
Comfortable, very spacious rooms, excellent meals, friendly staff
3.8
Confusing on prices. A little rundown, but a great venue.

Never knew what was included and what we would be charged. Staff wasn't really around much. No coffee in the morning before we went out. No ice. No hot water two days.

Fabulous most relaxing stunning place, great staff and two wonderful dogs had a lovely holiday in a small independent hotel. Would recommend it if you want a real Bajan experience and Pamelas pancakes are the best.

This was quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had in my life of travelling. Upon arriving we had to take a cab which cost over $80 US to the site. The hotel was under renovations and the entire road leading to the hotel was ripped up with construction vehicles blocking our passage. After an hour we finally managed to locate a staff member who told us the hotel was closed. We spent 6 weeks trying to get our money back only to have Expedia tell us that the hotel would not reimburse us. We were forced to find other accommodations in high season at significant cost to us. Stay away from this hotel at all costs.

Best word to describe our stay would be "confusing". We were warmly greeted and the place had beautiful potential. We enjoyed our stay, and Carlos was very hospitable. But we were left to "fend" for ourselves quite a bit which we love to do, but did not want to invade the space of the staff and come off as rude to them. The room we were given was not very nice compared to the others available. We were the only people staying there the night we stayed (which in itself was a little weird) so i think they should have asked our preference. We had prior arrangements for a taxi to the airport upon leaving so we did not need help with anything upon departing. But we joked at the airport about wondering if they realized we had left yet since the staff was so scarcely seen and nobody said goodbye, thanks for coming, etc. All in all a fun experience and would love to visit again with the awareness we have now of how to enjoy and what to expect. With some "hands on" management The Bellevue Plantation could be one of the highlights to visit on the island of Barbados.

Love the peaceful house and the welcoming, friendly staff. Will def return.

quiet. breezy porches, car necessary. relaxing. friendly staff. big rooms more like suites.

Really interesting house representing the colonial past. Location good to catch the breeze. Good grounds and loved the hammocks.Comfortable room and excellent sitting areas
Catering could be improved at least with the provision to get coffee or tea when wanted and possibly the option to get a basic breakfast (toast or cereal) without pre-booking it

The house is beautiful and the room is clean, but the place is in the middle of nowhere, just to get out to eat you need to call a taxi that costs $25 usd. Wish I had booked somewhere in the town, by the beach...

Pleasant location and facilities. Not very suitable for walking anywhere local due to the terrain. Beautiful grounds. Mediocre food.

What a wonderful surprise! Our weeks stay at Bellevue was magical.
The rooms were lovely and the Plantation house so quirky.
Very different!

The guest house is a converted plantation house from that period - with modern fittings but kept decorated from that period. That was a bit disconcerting. It’s set on a large estate. However, all but one of the taxi drivers we used got lost finding it. There’s a gate which requires a PIN to let you into the compound. On return at the end of the first day we had to call several times .... finally getting to the room of another guest who then gave us the PIN to get in. When we requested dinner, the chef came out dressed to head out and with his backpack to let us know that there was nothing in the kitchen and therefore we would not be able to have dinner without prior notice. This was not something we were told when checking in. Similar story for breakfast. However we were ‘lucky’ as other guests had requested breakfast ....therefore we were able to have a meal. The ‘plantation’ isnt located within walking distance from restaurants so very inconvenient to not have reglaur access to kitchen service .....

What a lovely place to stay. There was a group of 6 of us, and at the start of our week we were the only ones on the plantation (there are only 6 rooms anyway) The staff were so friendly, the owner was on site for the first few days and he said for us to treat it like our own houses.Breakfast was not included and l thought at 20$U.S.it was expensive for a continental breakfast especially as there was nowhere else locally to eat.The rooms were very nice with fans and air conditioning if needed. Beds very comfortable. Heated swimming pool. The plantation is an oasis to the extent that our taxi driver from the airport had never been there before. You would need a car as it is isolated Not cheap but well worth a visit.
