Great hotel in an excellent location. Easy access to all the attractions and especially handy for Waverley Station. Great views from the roof top bar. Nice extras like a complimentary glass of fizz and free mini bar. Staff were also very welcoming,

Room presentation and finish is crisp.
Mini bar has a nice variety although snacks did not appear to be stocked for two people (a possible oversight)
Air conditioning when fan at a certain level felt like we had a continuous morse code due to this and unable to achieve a comfortable temperature we did not sleep well. The soundproofing is non existent, you can hear your neighbours and if the kettle is on or shower, walking back and forth ,talking and so on,for light sleepers this in not a win.
The room even at a discounted rate was not value for money. Was disappointed overall. Great location geographically but if you wanted a view or even a window this room didn't have it. Other than physical appearance the window was no more a window than a gesture to building/room compliance(we assume). We called it the crevice. No complaint made which we would normally but it was a busy schedule and we didn't want do dwell on it and overshadow our festive day out.

A great hotel for our short trip to Edinburgh. Location is perfect and the hotel itself and the service were a 10 out of 10. Will definitely stay here on our next visit.

Loved the hotel, all the staff were super friendly and helpful from being greeted at the door, reception through to restaurant. Location was amazing and views from the bar balcony across the city were stunning. The welcome glass of champagne was a really nice touch and the free mini bar with snacks and drinks. Absolutely couldn’t fault the stay, we will be back!!

Excellent stay at a really good city centre location. Well equipped rooms with excellent cleanliness, friendly staff and very quiet guest rooms. Best hotel we have stayed at in Edinburgh!

The room was comfortable and very clean. The coffee service in the room included excellent coffee and a milk frother with the milk resupplied daily by the housekeeper. There was an interesting supply of items in the refrigerator that were complimentary. The bar was a great spot with a spectacular view of the city. The location was excellent—easily walkable to the Royal Mile and to New Town.We would certainly stay there again.

Perfect location for train service. Many great restaurants within walking distance. Very close to Castle and St. Giles. Would stay here again.

We stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is located perfectly in the center of Edinburgh, which makes it easy to walk to the popular attractions, places to eat, parks, shopping center and more. The receptionists and the others who work there are kind and friendly and will greet you every time. we got a room on the second floor, but the wifi didn't work for us there. we told the receptionists and they moved us straight away without hesitation up to the fifth floor. The wifi worked for us there, and we also got a nice view of the city. the cleaners are quick to make the bed, change the towels and anything else that might be needed. The hotel rooms have everything you will need, and are also very clean. There was a bit of noise between the walls and out towards the hallway, but not out towards the road and the city.

Complementary minibar is really a good service. I enjoyed a local beer after checking in.

This hotel is the best stay I have ever had in Edinburgh, the staff are courteous and welcoming. The city view room was well appointed and and had the softest bed, very happy. The room mini bar had a good selection of essentials including milk for tea and coffee, as well as good selection of alcoholic and soft drinks!
The attention to detail in the room even went down to branded socks snd slippers both sides of the bed.
The Market Street Hotel is just a roads width from Waverley Railway Station so easy to get anywhere involving rail travel and the trams are a short walk away in Princes Street, but because of the standard of glazing you would never know!
Looking forward staying again, thank you for great service and a great time.

Wonderful hotel in a convenient location. We booked for location and price, but were delighted with the amenities, decor and friendly service. Steps from Waverley train station, steps from the royal mile and New Town.

Nice hotel. Incredibly convenient to Old Town and New Town areas and especially to Waverly Station and Airport Shuttles. Hotel is clean and very quiet. Only oddity is the fact that you enter on the ground level but must travel up to the 7th floor for reception. Would stay here again

Check in was great, and the hotel took our bags a few days early and had them ready in our room. The main issue was a strong smell of sewage coming from the bathroom. When I raised this issue with the front desk, they said they would get maintenance to look into it. When we returned later in the day, the smell was worse and we received no further communication from the hotel.

Superb stay 1st class

Overall, Market Street Hotel is in a wonderful location and has great, comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. The only thing that didn’t give it five stars was the check in process. They require you to go to the top floor, luggage in hand, to check in. When the line is long, it’s an extremely cramped space that is shared with their rooftop lounge.
