Super Cool place to stay, right in the heart of beautiful Bath. A lovely bar/ restaurant downstairs and modern remodeled rooms above. Breakfast was terrific. The surrounding area was just amazing. So much history and beauty. Please note :
A remote car park is needed if you’re driving. There are options close by.

Great all around.

We had a very pleasent stay. The only difficulty was the stairs.
3.0 / 10.0
The room was spotless but unfortunately it was very warm in there and the window wouldn’t stay open . There is a fan provided which I would imagine in the summer you would definitely need.
We also found that you could hear all the noise outside and it didn’t quieten down till around 3am but maybe this was because it was freshers week ?
We also didn’t like having to use a side entrance outside to get to our room and then again to go back to the pub .

We loved the big room with the bath tub. Staff was very kind and the breakfast was great. Very walkable to all the sights.

Very pleasant stay, would stay here again

Very unique property. A lift would have been nice for getting our luggage to the top floor, but we knew there wasn’t one available when we booked our stay. Still a very enjoyable place.

Really comfortable bed, great room temperature and felt clean/spacious. It’s worth going up narrow stairs

That was my first time in a pub/hotel. And i cannot be happier about my experience.
The place at all - either room and pub - are so cozy! The cleanliness was surprising, as well the food. A silent place, very well located. I strongly recommend your stay. 10/10!

The property was in a great location and within easy walking distance to all the major attractions. Breakfast was good and the bar area welcoming.
The rooms were clean and comfortable.
A major problem for us was the lack of a lift as my husband struggled with the stairs to the second floor. If you are young and fit though this would not be an issue

Lovely, quiet, quintessential British pub. Comfortable and clean. The provided breakfast was lovely and the staff were friendly. Very much recommend. A great place to stay right in the heart of Bath.

Love the room! Clean and spacious. The reason I gave only 4 stars is the steps you have to climb to get to your room. In our case, we were given a room on the 4th (or was it 3rd) floor and it's a good thing we were only carrying an overnight bag and not a 50 lbs luggage.

First of all; This is not a hotel, it's a bar with a couple of very overpriced rooms to let out. There are no hotel staff to help you but bar staff who can't help you and only tell you that you can give a bad review and that they know that the rooms are overpriced.
Furthermore there was a very loud fan outside the window, large stains on the carpet, a very uneven and unconfortable bed and a very small basin in the bathroom. The few positive things were the breakfast, the wifi and the location.

Loved it here - really well located within the city centre and easy to walk around the city from. Great breakfast too!

What a fun place to stay! Spacious room and excellent breakfast included!

Best part is the location, super close to the town center! Breakfasts were excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful. My room was on the top floor. Old building, so the winding staircase and slanting floors were not a surprise. Didn’t like the odor in the room, and could not open the window or ventilate any other way. Poor water pressure, sometimes cold water not available. Nicely updated bathroom, comfy bed, well decorated, but carpet was shabby and should be replaced.

It is not a chain, but good for a short stay, though one downside is that there is no air conditioning.

Lovely old building with lots of character. Room basic but clean and comfortable. Close to shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs, bath spa, cathedral, all you would want to see in bath. Staff friendly, enjoyable stay.

We loved it! Everything was perfect. The room is big, clean, beautiful. The building is quiet old and that is why we were surprised to find a spotless well decorated and well maintained room. The king bed is very comfortable, we slept sooo good. The hotel is in a great location. The breakfast was good. We really enjoyed it.

The Black Fox is excellent. Even though the building is very old, the room had been recently refurbished to a high standard, and was spacious and comfortable. A great breakfast was provided in the cafe/bar. Very friendly and helpful staff. Recommended.

lovely accommodations! modern yet historic

This property, a freehouse since the 18th century, is exactly what I expected. Close to all Bath city sights, rooms are efficient and have everything you need. The property has had recent painting to lighten and brighten the spaces and they are inviting in a relaxed manner you would expect of a freehouse, that is the charm of the place. There is a bit of street noise but nothing not expected from city living. I throughly enjoyed my stay.

Great location. Helpful staff. Very clean comfortable room. No lift so lugging luggage up narrow stairways was challenging.

It was a really nice walkable distance to a lot of the different parts of Bath - the museum and thermae spa and food options. It was a little cold and noisy though but I knew that ahead of time from other reviews and brought a jacket and ear plugs. The breakfast was a nice touch to the stay. I would definitely return in the future.

Wonderful stay at a fantastic venue

We had a great stay, coupled with delicious breakfast. The bed was extremely comfortable and the location is in a prime location, close to anything and everything. Be aware of no lift if you have a higher level room and parking is not available on-site, but very reasonable (£17 for the night). Would highly recommend this great stay.

Good value and excellent clean room, with good pub and restaurant below. Central to access all in Bath and very much recommend.

Great location in the centre of Bath. Parking is offsite - but a 5 min walk (same for most accommodation in the centre). Fantastic room and a lovely pub.

Couldn't be happier with our stay at the Black Fox. Breakfast was delicious and fast, the room was big, comfortable and clean, great value for money and a brilliant selection of beers and gins at the bar A*
