Seaview from out bedroom was beautiful. Room was clean and beds very comfortable.. Bus stop was right outside to take you to town or to the airport. Proprietors were friendly and helpful and made our stay so relaxing and enjoyable.
You have to be reasonably fit to walk up the hill to this hotel. Taking the bus (56) for 2 pounds is a good alternative, which runs hourly except for Sundays. We took a taxi to the airport which is less than10 minutes drive away cost us 24 pounds which I think was overpriced so shop around before booking.

Stunning views from the property. Lovely homemade breakfast, very clean and good shower.
For some people it is a little outside Newquay but this suited us well as we like to walk and to be in a quieter spot.

A warm welcome from Laura and Kevin and a great room with a lovely view. The breakfast is good with a varied choice. A 2 minute walk from the beach, a 5 minute drive to town and drinks available from the guest bar when you return. What better way to end the day than sitting outside in the evening with a G&T looking at a beautiful panoramic sea view.

I loved everything about my stay at The Kenton Guesthouse; hosts Laura and Kevin continually went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and made to feel at home and they totally succeeded.
The seaview rooms may not be the largest but views more than compensate for this. Opening the curtains each morning never failed to lift spirits regardless of weather conditions which, during our stay, were actually rather excellent.
Rooms are serviced each day to a high standard and cleanliness throughout the guesthouse was of the highest standard. And if you enjoy a full English breakfast you won't be disappointed.
Kevin hosts the baroom every evening seven days a week providing the best of company so if you are visiting alone and seeking conversation you won't be disappointed.
The Kenton is a family owned/operated which accounts for that instant reassurance that guests are not just an invoice number: we were made to feel welcome from the moment of arrival to day of departure.
I highly recommend The Kenton on all fronts but if you are seeking to take small excursions in the evening The Mermaid Inn is less than 10 minutes walk. A large buzzy pub right on the seafront offering a range of pub grub, quiz nights and live music during summer season.
I have nothing to add to this section and would happily return but would need to do so well in advance as The Kenton enjoys many repeat bookings so if you're looking to stay book as soon as possible

Fab breakfast and location is absolutely amazing.

Great full English breakfast, and amazing location - the coastal view from the dining room is pretty exceptional.
Private parking in the rear of the hotel is a bit of a tight fit for bigger cars, although there are public spaces available right out front.

Excellent breakfast choice every day. The room was very comfortable, including the bed and shower. It was great to have proper bath towels. So many places these days offer smaller and smaller ones, sometimes almost the size of a hand towel. Laura and Kevin were great hosts, making you feel very welcome.
The only thing we could think of was the climb up the hill to the hotel from the nearest pub.

Everything. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. And the walk from the hotel to Watergate Bay was lovely.
The website, only because it was better than I was expecting from the website, specifically the location.

An absolutely lovely couple. A fantastic location. A warm welcome. Superb breakfast and the eggs were cooked to perfection! Spotless and the sunset was stunning from the lounge area. Can't recommended it highly enough.

The couple who ran it were marvellous and quite sociable. The breakfast was good, something that is disappearing
from many small hotels The bed was very comfortable and in that respect it was good. They also had a small bar which was a good touch, these things in small hotels are nearly extinct. It was nice chatting just before bedtime by the bar.
The location is quiet and not central to Newquay town centre, but the scenery is excellent.
The location isn't central to Newquay, it is about 1.5 miles away, and a walk up a big hill if you wanted to catch a bus after 7p.m. But Porth is an handsome spot, but if you want to come back from town at night a taxi is the best bet. I am in my early 60s and the hill up to the hotel is a bit steep. Also they have problems with their bar toilet, but they are fixing things. I
think they work hard and as far as I could see had no one else working for them.So no real big problems

Lovely welcome and very friendly staff.
The rooms were spotless, and the breakfast was very good.
It was somewhat far out of town was both a positive and a negative.

Laura and Kevin were fabulous hosts who looked after us from the moment we arrived.
The room was fab and had the most spectacular view and the proximity to the cove beach, including a few heart boosting stairs, meant pre brekkie dips were a must!! Freezing but absolutely revitalizing!!
Brekkies were prompt, social with our fabulous co guests , delicious and filling.
Proximity to a wide range of options was wonderful!!
The headland walks....both north and south were nothing short of awe inspiring and the spring wild flowers added that special bit of colour to life and pics!!
Sands restaurant up the road was excellent too with wide range of really tasty options and the staff were warm, welcoming, professional and thoughtful. They added to the entire experience! Thanks a million Laura and Kevin, we also love the standout sky blue colour of THE KENTON and the furniture you had just repainted!!
There was Nothing we didn't like. The entire experience exceeded our expectations!! 🌹
