Good location and amazing value for the cost, especially with full board. Staff were fun and appeared to love their jobs.
Way too much food!! (= . I would not do full board again if staying multiple days as the french cuisine is way to rich for me, esp with the amount served. Always leave room for dessert tho. Simply amazing!
It would be nice to see some benches added to the garden so one can sit outside in the sun.

Best lodge we've been during our stay in Costa Rica. Comfortable. Really amazing food. Best staff giving you suggestions and carrying for you. Quiet and appeasing.

The food was outstanding. The atmosphere of the hotel was absolutely dreadful! It was that bad, I cut my stay short.
The place has a toxic vibe about it. Very tense.

Location, super positive attitude of al staff and the owner who was also omni-present, competitive cost to value ratio, high and diverse quality of the meals ( breakfast & dinner) served. The staff were always ready to « go the extra mile ».
Nothing.

The breakfasts and dinners were great. They have a very good chef. The location was excellent- an easy drive to the Park as well as to the town of Bijagua. The lodge was beautiful with nice common areas to sit, have a drink and look at all of the many plants growing inside of the lodge. The lodge also had large windows everywhere to look outside to see the spectacular grounds, manicured hedges and beautful flowers. They even had their own private hiking trail in the jungle.

The location, the ecological awareness of the place, the amazing common space with view, the meals !
Rooms a bit small for a family, the place is really not young kids friendly.

the location was wonderful - incredible views of Tenorio National Park. the hotel has a fantastic free trail through the rainforest that is available to do alone. highly recommend this as it was just us on the trail and we saw capuchin monkeys which were fascinating to watch in the trees above. the trail was far better experience than the main touristy National park walks. hotel access was good - off a good paved road, good gravel road around site to parking. a particular highlight - the food! breakfast, lunch and dinner were all outstanding carefully thought out delicious meals and excellent value. the owner/host and staff are really friendly and happy to talk to you with recommendations and the background to the hotel. they have a reasonably priced laundry and dry service which was very needed as our wet clothes were struggling to dry in the rainforest! the room itself was great - some might think a bit basic bathroom, but for us it worked well and we loved hearing about the reasons for the window ventilation etc. the restaurant area is fantastic - areas to relax surrounded by plants, and seats overlooking the forest and birds and grounds. located very close to the Tapir Valley night tours (very welcome given driving the road in the dark) which we also recommend.
nothing - we wish we could have stayed longer

the most amazing hotel we have ever stayed at!
loved the design and decor, and in fact the whole
sustainable tourism ethos.
great location just 10-15 mins drive from Parque
Nacional Volcan Tenorio and Rio Celeste
stunning views of the volcanos
beautiful gardens
delicious meals, dinner and breakfast, all with either locally
grown or produced ingredients
tea, coffee, juice and drinks put out at 5pm
for you to help yourselves too
local beer, wine by glass or bottle and 3 local cocktails available to purchase from the bar
highlight was watching the resident tapir taking his evening stroll through the gardens
while we had our pre dinner drinks
We also walked the hotel’s own nature trail through
their privately owned section of the National park
on the hillside opposite the hotel - about 2 long.
we walked it early in the morning at 6.30
before breakfast, took about 1 hour, on quite a steep looped path
Owner Joel was a charming and attentive host-
also very helpful. he spotted our hire car had a flat tire
and helped us put the spare tyre on, whilst recommending garages to get to to get the tyre mended
nothing
there was no aircon but we didn’t need it as it wasn’t hot at night at that elevation

Breakfast was delicious and if you can eat dinner there, Do It! They have a chef on premises and the food is of extremely good quality and delicious.
We unfortunately were there the morning of garden maintenance day of the month so our morning and breakfast was not so peaceful.

The lodge is lovely with a great design and uses recycled materials when they can The owners are passionate about sustainability and have done a lot for the community since they built the lodge in the mid 2000’s . Meals are available , the chef is French, what’s not to like?

The food is really unique and delicious, and the garden view from the open air restaurant is paradise! I love the overall sustainability philosophy of this lodge. This is my second time here, and I will definitely be back!

we liked how personal this hotel felt, after travelling around allot of different places feeling like a number it was a lovely change to feel as if though we were being welcomed into someone’s home. all of the food was absolutely fantastic, it is small choice which is understandable when you consider the logistics of serving food in a location like this. But I’d rather pick from a small selection of fine cuisine rather than be bombarded by a larger menu with zero quality like you find in most resorts. the garden was lovely. we did the private walk that belongs to the grounds which was really mystic. all the staff were super friendly. and being only ten mins drive from the main attraction was a big plus.
highly recommend room 9, definitely the best in the house,
merci beaucoup!

Great eco lodge located near to the Volcan Tenorio national park. Enjoyed the peacefulness, the views, and the trail to explore more closely the flora and fauna. Brilliant hospitality and delicious food. We recommend staying here.

We loved the breakfast and the location was great. Although there was some rain during our stay, the restaurant area has great views of the grounds and the bird feeder. The hiking trail into the park right across the road is great also.

A very friendly owner and also an excellent cook in the hotel. I can highly recommend to have a beef steak for a dinner.
Beautiful gardens with lots of birds and nice views.
Great location if you have a car to get to 2 places that I can recommend: 1. Volcan Tenorio NP for hiking and seing the waterfall 2. Finca Verde Lodge to see many animals like birds, sloths, frogs etc.

Lovely lodge with amazing view, nice trail and perfect food! We loved everything about our stay! Bathroom small but functional, nice shower so no remarks there! If you go to Rio celeste you should stay here! For sure reserve 2 hours to do the private trail, it's beautiful!!!
The bed was small.. 2 small 2 persons beds is not ideal..
