Excellent place to relax. Good views and food. Only negative that your balcony is close to your neighbors and there is no privacy. Other than that everything was great.

This property was the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. The pools were clean. The food was wonderful and a good price. We were hungry late at night and they delivered food to us in the room at no additional cost. They put us in a corner suite on the 3rd floor. Panoramic view of the ocean. Gorgeous. Quiet. Clean. The bed was super comfy. The bathroom shower was impeccable. Hot water. Good water pressure. Modern. Soap, shampoo, conditioner. I was very satisfied and will definitely be coming back.

This location is absolute perfection! The view is just outstanding even during cloudy days. The staff is helpful and friendly. There are security guards all around the property which made us feel real safe. They also got mangoes and coconuts for us all for free. The buildings, as stated by other reviewers, could use a little maintenance but that would not stop me from visiting again. Dinner at their restaurant was ok but breakfast was good. We really enjoyed the walk to the beach (a workout) but well worth it and all the vegetation throughout the property. Lovely place. It's only twenty minutes from Las Galeras beach and it's a beautiful drive. Lots of restaurants in that area as well.

The location of the property is amazing.
Views are amazing.
But the property needs maintenance.
When arrived LOCKS DID NOT WORK.
Washer mashing did not work
A/C in the living room was leaking lots of water.
JACUZI was NOT working.
You can tell the property has seen better days.
THE STAFF WAS AMAZING, TRYING to solve all the problems we had with the 4 bedrooms apartment
Lots of stairs, (not good for heavy luggage) but they sent people to help us to carry our luggage upstairs.

Maintenance issues are real. We had multiple issues and response was very slow.

The property is dirty, full of insects, and the staff are not very friendly. They seem to be reading off a script for every question asked. They did not have hot water for us. I asked for an extra bath towel and they did not have any. There are better options.

I had an amazing stay. Only had 1 issue, no internet for 12 hours. This has been my 4th visit here to the vista mar. Id definitely will be back.

The property that I stayed at had extraordinary views from the bedroom one night you could see the moon rising
The next day there was an incredible thunderstorm I enjoyed watching from the apartment.
My only suggestions I would say to the property owner that is managed by the maintenance staff on site.
The sliding doors had some difficulty opening and closing a microwave would be nice in addition the grease trap for the vent above the stove needed to be cleaned.
There was a washer and dryer on site, which is amazing if you’re spending more than a week there you just need to remember to bring your own detergent.
The restaurant offered American and Dominican breakfast options prices were reasonable.
I would also like to suggest to the Property owners to have some good pool cues since they
were missing the cushions on the tips.
If you were to walk to the beach, you need to put on some good walking shoes no flip-flops since there are very steep hills and steps to go down and up.
I would definitely come back to this again. It felt like home and it was very comfortable. I
There were two controls to the air conditioning unit one for the Living area and one bedroom
Everyone on site was very helpful and friendly May happen to be the seasons for mangos we were able to get mangos that had fallen from the trees close to the apartment for breakfast and snacks if you want a quiet place with incredible views, this is for you

Me and my family stayed at this beautiful hotel from 02/15/24-02/19/24.
The apartment was spacious, clean with a breathtaking view of the Samana Bay.
We were able to spot lots of whales out of our balcony!!
The beds were cozy and clean.
The breakfast was delicious.
I would recommend this place for everyone and would definitely come back here some day.
Special thanks to the manager Freddy, Alejandro receptionist for the smooth check in/out and for everything!

Our visit was very relaxing. The pool, the beach, security, reception and restaurant were all very good. The start to our day was excellent, as we enjoyed coffee on our balcony overlooking the ocean! Highly recommend this place!

The place is terrific with a gorgeous view to the bay and the beach and pools are amazing. The only thing that dislike me was that the villa wasn’t very well cleaned. The bathroom toilet was dirty and the floor and walls dirty as well.

We had a whale of a time in Samana if you can pardon the pun! Vista Mare has suberb views, excellent staff and overall a10outa10 place to stay. Would love to return.

The views are outstanding. The buildings tier down on a hill and every room has a good view. The pool area is nice, the restaurant has great views. The buildings definitely need a LOT of maintenance, however, and overall the restaurant is quite expensive.
We booked a 1 bedroom apartment and it was a nice size with a great patio. The AC works great and the couch was comfortable. Unfortunately, there was no hot water and there was no real drinking water. The hotel does not sell large bottles of water so unless you have a car, you are out of luck. It's very bizarre to me to not offer any way to get water in a country where you cannot drink from the tap.
The restaurant was fine, very overpriced but the service was good overall. I never received my $25 credit and had to argue for it, but still very unsure if they ever applied the credit.
Would I come back? yea, for the right price, I have the right expectations now. I will definitely bring groceries, water, coffee next time because there's no where else to go nearby. It's a good base to explore Samana from.

The value is in the view and the service!
But they should really up their game in the maintenance of those beautiful apartments. Things like jammed doors, electronics keys that don't work, clogged toilets and burst pipes in the kitchen (it happened in our friends room) really can change the whole entire experience. They would send someone right away the fix things, but they should not happen in the first place in my opinion

This was a very beautiful spot to stay. The grounds were very clean and the staff were nice and helpful. The beach was so amazing. Very private. I’ll be back next year for sure.

The premises are stunning, boasting a beautiful and immaculate pool area, along with a friendly and helpful staff. However, the rooms/apartments require maintenance and upgrades. Many kitchen utilities, including the stove and washer, are non-functional. Additionally, the bathroom toilet was leaking, and the television connection is extremely poor.

Once we get here, there seemed to be blood colored stain on the hallway floor near our door. We than had to switch rooms because the A/C to our room wasn’t working and half the kitchen was dismantled from some work they never had finished. once we get to our new room, we realized there was no running water. Bathroom sink had hair in it and drainage was awful. We had to call reception everyday because running water was nonexistent at least once a day. Once we checkout I ask for some kind of discount for all the troubles we had to go through and they tell me I can get half of on my next stay, like I’m looking forward to going through this again. Staff is extremely nice and they try to be helpful. It’s unfortunate because this property can be great. Never seen a better view than this one but the property needs heavy updating

I had a fantastic time at Vista Mare, all the rooms had an ocean view and it was whale watching season, this place is perfect for that. It also has private beaches. I'd recommend staying here. The staff was lovely, but the food wasn't excellent would be the only downside but you have a kitchenette.

We happened on this place after looking at maps of Vista Mar jutting out into Samana Bay, promising both sunrise and sunset from the same property. And that’s just what we got along with great daytime views of Samana Bay, occasional whale shows off shore, and the stupendous mountainous national parks lining the South side of the bay. And then there’s two idyllic private beaches. It’s a great Resort with all the service and amenities you could ask for as well as a wonderful home base to explore the beaches and mountains through the Samana Peninsula. We found the staff friendly and helpful, particularly the resident manager (Freddy), who responds and often anticipates whatever we needed.

Beautiful setting and excellent service. Only one small TV problem. But I would stay again

The staff was so warm and welcoming. The restaurant was excellent and accomodated are requests for "Dominican " cuisine. However, the roo mhad many deficits: no place to put clothes. We lived out of our suitcase for a week. Shower head needed to be changed upo arrival. No hot water upon arrival. No instructions how to use the equipment, TV, oven. Lack of cooking utensils and pans for oven and microwave. . No soap , shower gel or shampoos until four days after we arrived. It seems as if no one checks the rooms after the previous guest leaves to make sure everything is working. Also we had to use a key to ope and close the safe since it was't possible to open the safe.

Stayed 2 days with no water on the shower, they made up a lot of excuses and never resolved the problem.
