Views are great but you walk past peoples rooms that are getting undressed to get to the last room in the house to open the door with a key outside thru Ranch sliders. I feel we should be walking down the hallway to open up room s and not outside everyone’s lake views with people half dressed.

It was winter and cold and frost, the heater panel turns off after some time thru the night and bed room temp drops off to just above zero , good thing bought my own feather topper and feather duvet as I slept in my car the second night . Synthetic bedding is freezing with heating panels on timers. . Ok for summer but not winter

Nice location but I was super cold.

Good view. Clean. Good facilities if you want to self cater.

Was too cold. no electric blanket, heater was in a timer and kept going off. Never been so cold ever!

Overnight stay

View was really cute. We stayed just one night, so we didn’t need much and we were prepared that we will need to pay a lot since it’s a great location at Lake Tekapo.

You’re paying here for the view (if you are about to take a room with no view, please consider it twice as it wouldn’t be worth it at all), we didn’t have much baggage but if you are about to have big suitcases then be prepared for not having much space. We stayed during Easter time so I believe we paid even extra. There was also an issue with payment as I had information that I need to pay in cash at the property, so I have prepared it in advance, unfortunately owner charged my card without any information. No hairdryer (for such price I think it would be good to have one at least to share in common area. Walls pretty thin so you could hear everyone around.

Room frustratingly small with shared kitchen and living and great view.

Great view. Spotlessly clean. Well equipped shared condition.

The room was ridiculously tiny with nowhere to put luggage except on the floor in the walkway at the end of the bed which meant a trip hazzard. The vanity basin was also so tiny you couldn’t wash your face without getting water on the floor and there was nowhere in the tiny ensuite to put a washbag or hang a towel. The room was hot but no air conditioner or fly screen so you could keep the door open.

Wouldn’t return

Nice view of lake from bedroom.

This is a multi bedroom house converted into a backpacker style accom - you book a small room. Quite crowded when every room is full. Nice place but definitely not worth the price for the amount of people that can be crammed in. Would be preferable to book an Airbnb or just stay at the backpackers.

The view was great and comfy bed.

No ventilation as there was no air con or even a fan in the room. Mould in shower. Exhaust fan in shower not working and filthy. Way over priced.

A nice view of the lake but a bit small.

The view of the lake at the top of the hill was very nice. The manager was very friendly and informative.

The room was very small and the sink was way too small. It was difficult to brush/rinse your teeth and wash your face. There were no wash cloths. The common room was very nice with plenty of cooking utensils and space for cooking and eating and talking with other guests.

Pretty bloody awful couldn’t wait to get out the place .

View

Was cold, very small , dirty and the bathroom shower was pretty horrible. Door didn’t shut was going green and mouldy. Was uncomfortable was so small there was nowhere to put anything. Bed was hard as a rock.

Perfect for a casual and relaxing time where you just need a bed for the night.

The location was fantastic with the Lake view room looking out over the lake itself. Lovely tidy room and a nice pateo to sit outside and enjoy the view and talk to other guests. There was also a larger table with chairs outside. Lovely tidy kitchen area, and lounge which also opens out onto the pateo. Plenty of onsite parking as well.

The bathroom is a tiny bit cramped which makes it difficult. Also the thinness of the walls means needing to be pretty quiet when everyone has gone to bed. The TV had a issue with WiFi as it wasn't getting an IP address and couldnt sign into Netflix etc...

our evening down at McKenzies cafe,Tavern was great. Because we had extremely heat snow as well

The view was excellent

The parking was difficult to get out and driveway narrow, the toilet seat was loose and off hinge, the basin was so small you couldn't get your head over it to wash face or clean teeth, you couldn't lock the internal door and go to the common kitchen then get back through it as there was key or code. you had to take key walk outside into weather and enter again through external door. slightly overpriced for these reasons

An adequate but pricey stay.

The shared kitchen and living room facilities of the property were nice, and handy to be able to cook food rather than needing to eat out. The room itself, whilst small, was adequate for one or two nights - but I wouldn't want to stay a long stay in them.

Room heating was ineffectual - barely took the chill out of the room. Staff took a loooong time to arrive to check us in (other guests seemed to have key codes for their room keys). Parking was narrow. Overall value wasn't great, but must keep in mind that this is not a cheap town.

Location ,location , location .... Expensive BUT walking ( too bloody cold to do so ) distance to the Dark Sky Experience . Small rooms BUT large fully equiped communial kitchen .

Room size v tariff , Parking very squeezy . Did I mention small rooms ???

Beautiful and comforting stay in the most stunning place on earth

The view was outstandingly beautiful and the space was very clean and warm! The showers were hot and the room was very cute. The Patio took the cake, being able to have breakfast and coffee outside was perfect.

There was not too much storage space and sadly the heater was too strong

We were only there overnight, but another day would have been great!

Beautiful position. Lovely mix of a private room and bathroom with beautiful communal kitchen and lounge area. Deck to sit on and look at the stars! the hosts were super helpful.

We only stayed one night and that was fine. Beware that not all units have a view.

Breakfast was not part of our accommodation deal. We provided our own. The location was handy to the Tekapo township but the view was spoiled by a neighbouring property.

The check-in process was a bit confusing but once the host representative arrived, all was clarified quickly. We do think that this process could be improved however.The host was very friendly and helpful.

Call the owner fot check in. Recommend to call before the arrival. Easy to access, pay money. Good location to see the lake from your room. But the room is very small if you compare with the price. I actually love this place because the lake view can see from my room

Great accomodation but terrible check in system

Wonderful rooms, super clean and great views on the lake side! The communal area was our favorite part of the stay - we made multiple friends in there and the vibe was great! Lots of cooking supplies and facilities, close to everything in town which was so great! It even snowed during our stay which was so special! Loved the accommodation!

VERY weird check in system. Did not receive any information on how to check in. We attempted to contact the lodge before arrival via internet but no response. As tourists, we didn't have easy access to making phone calls. Had to pay for mobile roaming just to call them - host met us at house. We had previously been messaged that payment would be taken out 1 day prior to arrival, but in the end had to pay at hotel WITH surcharges for our overseas card, which wasn't a lovely start. The staff were really friendly and nice but a little more communication would go a long way for a better experience. Please put up signs or contact guests prior to check in, explaining how check in works. Other than this, the lodge was an absolutely great place to stay.

The view was good the shower had plenty of hot water. The kitchen was clean and there were plenty of cups,cutlery and cooking utensils.

The room was tiny not enough room to put suitcases inside. The bathroom sink was too small. It was totally overpriced for the size of the room. No kettle in room no fridge everything was shared in the kitchen. It would be ok if the price was comensurate with the size of the room but it wasn't plus a 3% surcharge for credit cards.

Nice views from the shared deck, modern and clean facilities.

Rooms and bathroom small, sound proofing wasn't great, check-in instructions wasn't too clear (had to go a check emails, forgot after booking). Instructions for how to use oven would be helpful

overpriced and very disappointing

too small , no room for even one suitcase let alone two ! The hand basin was ridiculously inadequate . I would question the cleanliness of the bedroom and shower .

Very clean and well thought through. This was the best accomodation of my whole trip. Everything was very modern and comfortable.
