About this cottage rental
This lovely Grade II listed cottage was built for the local lime kiln workers and is one of a terrace of cottages, which cluster around a charming chapel, frequented by the former landowner and still in use to this day. A peaceful location in the older part of Alcombe, a few minutes walk from the Exmoor National Park whose boundary is just up the hill beyond the cottages. Alcombe is situated on the outskirts of Minehead, a popular seaside town with shops, restaurants and a large sandy beach. The historic village of Dunster is also within a 20 minute walk with its' Castle and Yarn Market.

Everything was perfect for us at Lime cottage, all the facilities we could need and an ideal location. I was slightly apprehensive about parking but had no problems, being able to park directly opposite the path to the cottage, I even manged to return to the same spot every time I moved the car. Thank you for making a lovely holiday.

Had a fab time during our weeks stay at this lovely cottage. Had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The pics on website really don’t do this cottage justice. It’s an adorable property with lovey views. Offers a quiet and relaxing setting with the beach only a 5 min drive away. Would fully recommend

Interesting Cottage
Small cottage set in unique courtyard with nice neighbours. Well equipped, though a new upstairs carpet and sofa would be very welcome. Lovely small back garden which is a sun trap though really needs a sun umbrella. Bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the cottage was a bit 'doggy' and we needed to clean it. Though to be fair the owner did offer to get her cleaners back to put things right. So we were disappointed but this cottage could be really nice with a few improvements.

Parking was not good. Quite central to different places to go
Good overall, but could not understand why we had to bring our own towels when bedding and tea towels were provided

beautiful, surprisingly spacious cottage !
We really enjoyed our stay in this perfectly located cottage in Alcombe. The village itself has just the best fish and chip shop as well as a nice local pub and access to everything you would want food BD drink wise. There are great walks to be had on your doorstep into Exmoor as well as access to a whole host of other seaside resorts along the coast like Linton, Lynmouth and Woolacombe a little further away. Can’t fault it and will be back!

This is a great budget cottage. Whilst it is small there was still plenty of space for our family of 4 and it was a perfect cosy place for our winter break. Electric heaters kept the whole house warm and the gas fire was a welcome addition in the evening.Great location for visiting Dunster Castle and village which is just a 30 minute walk away. We love the area and would recommend.

Relaxing short break, home from home
This property is in a perfect location, easy to walk to Minehead and even easier to explore Exmoor and Dunster. I definitely felt like I'd 'got away' from it all. Thank you for the little touches, the helpful maps and books. I'll definitely be returning.

Lovely cottage in quiet courtyard
We loved our stay in this cottage, situated in a quiet courtyard. Very well appointed house with sunny patio and lovely courtyard garden at the front. The neighbours were very friendly and up for a chat. Jet van den Toorn, September 2018

Perfect cottage in a perfect location!
We have really enjoyed our week in this lovely cottage which is part of a courtyard group of former workers homes and still houses a small chapel. There are many walks to be enjoyed up on the Moors above the cottage, just a short 1/2 mile up the road and it only takes 20 minutes to walk downhill into Minehead town centre. Both we and our dog enjoyed them, including coastal path walks between Minehead Harbour and Blue Anchor beach.
We had expected the cottage to be small but NO ...it was adequately roomy and would hold a family of four easily. There was everything we could wish for in terms of facilities and the owner had left a welcome pack of essentials for our arrival.
We would recommend this cottage to others and wouldn’t hesitate to return ourselves.

Great cottage with a homely feel,
A lovely place to stay, not just the cottage but also the village, and of course within walking distance to the seafront in Minehead.

Would definitely book again!
Lovely cottage, ideal size for myself and 2 children. Nicely furnished and spotlessly clean. Very peaceful if you want to get away from it all but ideally placed with all the amenities in Minehead town centre close by. Welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend.

Such a Lovely Place!!
What a lovely place! We stayed here for only three nights and left wishing we could stay longer. The cottage, if not very clean, had every thing we could have hoped for. The town of Minehead is very lovely with a great lunch spot in Owls: a cafe/restaurant with fantastic meals, good prices, comfy sofas and wifi. Owner is lovely. A visit to North Hill is well worth it, with wild ponies and views over the town (bit hard to find. Ask a local!) Cottage itself was nice and warm on a dreary summers day, but you could open the windows to catch a cool breeze if needed. Beds were very comfortable, booking was quick and easy, and was amazing value for money. The only reasons we would not give the collage five stars is the fact that it was not clean and the parking was about 100-150 meters away. This will definitely be our spot for exploring Exmoor in the future!

Quaint and cosy cottage
Very cosy and clean cottage. Not ideal for a young dog, very small back garden which was all covered in decking. Would not class it as dog friendly.

Wish I could give this 6 stars!
The cottage is spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and very well equipped. The location is perfect too, just a short walk to the Combe with its woods, moors and numerous bridle paths - a veritable doggy heaven - within very easy reach of all the amenities Minehead has to offer and an ideal base for touring Somerset & Devon.
Booking and paying was simple and hassle-free and the owners very helpful. Lots of information provided and still willing to answer extra questions.
