Friendly staff, cozy room, delicious food… what more do you need for vacation? The hotel locates close to all the major tour sites while hiding itself in a peaceful and private garden. This has become my only choice for hotel in north Wales.

For the cost of the hotel I expected better service. There was one waiter serving from the bar and we sat on the lawned terrace for 25 minutes and no one came to serve us so I had to ask reception to send someone. The spa is very old and desperately in need of a full refurbishment. The food was fairly good but considering the cost wasn’t worth it as I've eaten better three course meals for less in many other top restaurants. It’s a shame as the setting is lovely with the hotel buildings, gardens, and the Snowdonia hills in the distance. It could be so much better with some improvements here and there but I didn’t feel it was worth the high end cost for what was in my opinion a mediocre experience.

Such a shame, incredible grounds but massively let down by the service. As someone who travels extensively, most of which in premium establishments - this was one of the most disappointing stays I have had (Room, Afternoon Tea & Spa)
- The greeting was inappropriate, only ever acknowledging me, never my fiancée (as if she wasn't there)
- The room was very very tired. I totally understand the constraints with the National Trust / listed building. However the room was very tired, extension cables around, alarm clock from the 70s. The cherry on top was at very high cost for a double bed - this ended up being two mattresses pushed together, absolutely no excuse for this
- We ordered afternoon tea, after sitting there for 20+ minutes I had to go to hotel reception to seek someone out to take our tea order. This was very surprising considering there was total 6 customers total there at the time. After this it was simply "which tea?" - service was very poor for this.
- We eat there for dinner. I ordered lamb and was asked how I want it cooked, I then said rare please - pink. However, I was given some of the most overcooked lamb I have ever eaten (see pic) it was then begrudgingly changed. Restaurant manager was very rude with this.
- For breakfast we were sat next to multiple dead flies. Rather than apologies from the restaurant manager we were told "this is simply nature". I would expect this at Wetherspoons, not for £30pp
- They charged us twice (rectified after complaint)

Wonderful. Beautiful gardens, gorgeous country house, friendly staff. We stayed in cottages in the grounds…the best of both worlds. Hotel with all the amenities and the privacy of a cottage.
4.7
excellent country house. Staff where great and everything was very well thought out. Grounds are amazing. Lovely little cottage. Will return in the summer.

Place is amazing staff are too. Rooms are so warm and comfortable.

Took myself to Bodysgallen for a couple of days, lovely hotel and beautiful grounds. The Spa was well worth the visit.
4.7
The hotel was lovely, very country house look & feel. The cottage we stayed in had open oak beams as had originally been a barn. The room was spacious but the decor was abit tired & could benefit from a re-furb eg new wallpaper. The bathroom & kitchenette were also abit dated, but everything was very clean & well equiped with good quality towels, bath robes etc

Unbelievable find and the best meal we had all week

Amazing building with fantastic gardens, only a short drive from Llandudno, Conwy and Snowdonia, so an excellent comfortable base for exploring the area. Good food in the restaurant too. Also has a very pleasant pool and a small but not busy gym.
4.7
The hotel has character and the most beautiful gardens. The staff and service are excellent and the restaurant serves delicious food. Gorgeous, quirky accommodation but it could just do with a bit more of a thorough clean to try and avoid extra guests (spiders). Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel.
4.7
We had a wonderful time at the Bodysgallen Hall with incredible service and wonderful facilities. I would recommend it highly. The only down side was the size of the dinner menu. We were at the Hall four days and were loathe to repeat some of the dishes since we enjoy variety. If the Hall were to have a different special each day, it would help. Otherwise, the food was good.
4.7
A beautiful hotel in fabulous gardens with excellent service.

A great experience, lovely atmosphere and you could not fault anything.
The people who work there can’t do enough for you. Plus the food was excellent

I have just returned from an overnight stay at this wonderful hotel - it was a truly utopian experience! From the first moment that I arrived the service was outstanding and the staff really take time to get to know you and make your stay special. This is a beautiful, historic house where you can escape the cares of the world and almost step back in time. Not once did I see any guest walking around with a mobile phone in the public areas and everyone respected the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the hotel. The public rooms such as the library and drawing room are kept in their original state so you can sink into a plush sofa in front of a roaring wood fire surrounded by history. I particularly enjoyed my afternoon tea which was served privately to me outside my room on the first floor in a delightful alcove area. I had two wonderful treatments at the spa which is also an oasis of peace and calm. My room was perfect and very spacious with views over the surrounding countryside. Guests should definitely take a walk around the grounds and beautifully landscaped gardens. On my last day I just didn't want to leave and will definitely be returning for a longer stay next time.

I loved the whole experience - especially given I could have my dog stay with me in one of your cottages.
My only complaint was my breakfast - very disappointing. - bacon and blood pudding very dry and tasted as if it had been cooked for a while.
I had meant to write about this on your cards left in cottage - but ran out of time.
I would definitely stay again, but probably have the continental breakfast.

We needed a break and were grateful to be able to take our dog. The walks around the hotel were delightful and the trips to various places we last visited twenty years ago brought back wonderful memories.
4.7
It is an elegant old estate, but that said, there was no heat in our cottage so they brought space heaters in. And some electrical plugs did not work. But estate is 300 yrs old, so must give it a break, bc its charmingly elegant
4.7
Really enjoyed our room in the Castle View. Dining was a bit too formal for our tastes.
4.7
Bodysgallen is superbly situated on its own hill. This does by necessity entail some up and downhill activity when using the site, eg visiting the spa - but that’s just part of the charm. I was on the second floor in the main house and had a charming room with views on 2 sides. There were great touches such as fresh shortbread in a tin by the bed! Service was accommodating, and I never had to sign for anything. Very much in the country house mode of a guest. A fine stay. I recommend their picnic to liven the trip home - a spot of bara brith made me smile as I chomped it on the train home.
4.7
Beautiful! make sure you get there in time to walk the expansive gardens. Though the rooms were a bit dated, they had the best towels we have used in a long time! Lots of character throughout the grounds and multiple buildings. Excellent 3 course dinner.

We were pleasantly surprised to see that we were in a beautiful little cottage off the grounds with our own front door and garden. I must have missed that when booking from overseas. It was cute however a little cool (coming from HK I suffer from the cold). On our first night we unfortunately had an issue with the toilet. The staff (Matt) came within a few minutes to try to fix it but couldnt. So they quickly moved us, and all our bags, to the main house and gave us an amazing suite with a four poster bed. We were completely bowled over, all because of a toilet issue! Given the period of the house, we jokingly expected chamber pots to be brought over! :-). Next day we expected to move back to our cottage however, the hotel staff told us that we could stay in our suite the whole 3 nights. We were delighted, obviously. Luckily for us, plumbers dont work during the Easter holidays. We had a lovely time at the hotel and tried everything, spa, pool, massage, breakfast, silver service dinner and afternoon tea. Backgammon in the library, walk around the beautiful gardens and up to the obelisk. Thank you for a lovely stay. We genuinely felt and was treated like the lord and lady of the manor.

Beautiful setting, wonderful surrounding gardens, great restauarnt. We stayed in Smithy cottage which was very roomy and also had a separate sitting area. The only issue was a long walk uphill to the hotel itself. Tough on my wife with a bad knee.

Celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Everything was excellentl

Room is in a stone barn.. One problem, the wifi quit on second day of stay. Had to go to main house to get mail. My husband and I got lost on first day in the woods beyond the garden. Had hard time finding way back. Map given was just too small and the dark was coming in. Otherwise food., staff, and room fantastic.

This is a hotel for those who appreciate history, historical building preservation, pampering and quiet. It's a unique hotel, secluded location-- you'll be one with nature, surrounded by green and above all, the best service! the good is excellent, the spa offered a verity of services- high quality. We will be back!

Service at hotel restaurant was first rate

Perfect place for my 50th. Staff more than accommodating. Lovely food for the evening meal.
4.7
We enjoyed the restaurant and spa facilities. The gardens were peaceful and beautiful.
4.7
Stayed 3 nights, from Friday night.
Stayed in Gingerbread Cottage, slightly away from the main house. Split level with living room and private garden below, kitchen/bathroom in the middle and bedroom above.
Used the pool in the adjacent spa complex, room service and fine dining in the hall on Saturday night.
4.7
This country house is magnificent, the staff attentive and really really helpful. We were in the Lady Augusta suite which had two large rooms plus bathroom and felt so homely. The lounge was really welcome, one day we had lunch out and it was so good to be able to curl up on a settee and watch tv in the evening, rather than go down and share a lounge with other guests. The fine dining was a bit of a let down, very small portions and that night I went to bed still hungry. The wine was awful, but maybe we chose badly, but at £38 it broke my heart to leave it all! I had a really good back and shoulder massage at the spa. Teas and coffees were always delivered to our room within minutes of ordering but I would still prefer to have t&c making facilities in my room. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay though and would definitely go back if I were to revisit the area.
4.7
A very old hotel full of character within an amazing setting. The gardens and walkways are so tranquil with great views is Conwy castle. Stayed in a quaint garden cottage with everything you could ask for. Ate in both restaurants and were both very good. Will definitely return to thus hotel
4.7
Stayed in one of the cottages in the grounds of this beautiful country hotel. The cottage was comfortable with a huge bed and appropriate country "cottage style"decor. The one comment I would have about the cottage was that the kitchenette had no cooking facilities at all - just a sink, kettle and fridge so there it would be impossible to self cater - not that we wanted too! The grounds are stunning to wander around and the spa was excellent.
We loved that we could have room service and have it delivered to the cottage - perfect for a cosy evening in! The room service food was delicious.
Overall this was a perfect weekend away location and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

except the breakfast, everything is perfect. There are not many chose for the breakfast.

Wonderful place - Truly stunning location and gardens. Quiet hotel and the staff do not pester you in any way.

4.7
Surpassed our expectations. Wonderful location, accommodation and spa.
4.7
The most beautiful place in Wales. The dinner was special! The gardens were beautiful. Next time I will stay longer

Booked a cottage but none available when we arrived so upgraded to a Snowdon View room[an e mail about this would have been a nice touch].Huge room with fab views.Everything you could possibly need.Even brought us a free tea and coffee making tray when we asked as none available in rooms [only in cottages].Beautiful building and grounds.Near to lots of places eg Conway,Llandudno etc whilst being in the country.Didn't eat in the hotel itself but did eat in the Bistro which was superb.Excellent food and service at a reasonable rate.
4.7
One of the best hotels we have stayed in in this country. A charming place, full of history, quiet and in a beautiful setting, and yet within very easy reach of the bustling traditional seaside town of Llandudno. Staff extremely attentive, but simultaneously unobtrusive. Bed a bit soft for me, but noticed for next time that a bed board can be requested, and a next time there certainly will be.
