We had a great time at Spy Run Hideaway! The kitchen was well equipped and we made good use of the gas grill on the porch. We spent most of our time in the huge covered deck or running in the front yard. Lots of great bird watching to be had. We had one night of bad storms and were excited to find there was a back up generator ready to go. We were prepared to “rough” it until power restored but instead we just limited our use of power to necessary areas and had a great night of games listening to the storm roll through. Things worth noting: the road in can be a bit winding, it’s on a mountain after all. Do not recommend driving in or out at night unless you’re really comfortable with narrow mountain roads. Phone service can be spotty, but there is WiFi, we liked the forced disconnect. The fire pit is up on a hill so bring head lamps for traversing that slope after a night at the fire. Skyline drive is a stones throw away and we enjoyed the close proximity. Lastly, I forgot my travel kitchen kit and the hosts were great about getting it sent back to me. That was hugely appreciated. We hope to visit this home again in the future and are thankful the owners share their bit of heaven.

The house was clean and well stocked with anything you could need! Hidden off a dirt road, peaceful and quiet was just what we were looking for! We didn’t have cell service, but we connected to the WiFi provided and could text etc. The beds are extremely comfortable! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home!! We truly enjoyed our stay.

My Family and i had a short getaway to bring in the New Year away from the city. The home was perfect for our small bunch. Even our dog enjoyed his stay. He had a blast chasing the kids in the yard.

This was an ideal getaway for a Thanksgiving break. Our group included several teenage boys who enjoyed the house as much as the surrounding area. We had a dog as well who also enjoyed the hikes! We were able to explore the local area and enjoyed using the kitchen to cook. All in all, we had a great break - thank you!

This house and property are beautiful. It is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway and is secluded and private. The owners have provided any and everything you will need, even wood to burn in the fire pit. The house was spotless, very dog friendly, and the owners are awesome and extremely easy to communicate with. There is a huge, beautiful front porch with rocking chairs and a grill. I had a wonderful time and I am looking forward to my next stay here.

This home was perfect for the 7 of us and a newborn. It had everything we needed and more. We loved sitting on the porch in the am and evening. The weather was perfect except one day but that was ok as well. Thanks again for making us feel at home and hope to come back again soon. I call the Blue Ridge Mountains GOD'S Country.

We cant wait to return in the fall. After fun with family at the sights, we enjoyed our evenings watching the stars in the rockers and listening to the rain pour down. Totally awesome in the large covered porch!

The house was very clean and well kept. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. The beds were comfortable for a good nights sleep. The most beautiful front porch and view. It was so peaceful. We even saw some deer in the field. So close BRPW which was also a beautiful drive. We had a great stay.

Hideaway mountain is tucked away in the Blue Ridge mountains. The house is very cozy and fully stocked with everything you need for a quiet get a way. It was a nice way to end the evenings during a busy college graduation weekend.

Lovely property. Very clean and well thought out for guests. The only issue I had was being afraid to open the windows due to the ADT security monitors on them. I would have loved to breathe the mountain air while sleeping! But overall a great stay. Will definitely come back!

This property was spotless and very well kept. The house truly felt like a home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you can imagine. The beds were very comfy. The front porch was spacious and a great place to relax and enjoy the view. There was even a gate blocking the stairs, it was just amazing for my toddler and keeping dogs on the porch. While we didn't use the firepit, it was cleaned out with wood already stacked. There was plenty of seating provided. When we had a question, the owners responded within 10 mins and were very polite. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic place to escape from the everyday crazy. Kids had a fantastic time chasing our dogs around the property and we loved sitting around the amply stocked firepit. Front deck was the perfect place to listen to the birds and the breeze in the trees with a drink in the morning. Very close to the Blueridge Parkway (make sure its opened when you plan your trip)! Would stay again.

We decided on short notice to visit family in the area for the holidays and were so grateful for the quick confirmation, easy communication and use of the home. We were very comfortable, the spot is lovely, and we may return again sometime in warmer weather to enjoy more hiking in the area!

This house is set back off a gravel road with amazing views in the mountains. Absolutely secluded from surrounding properties. We've stayed in another house not far from here, but that house was closer to the main road. You could hear the occasional car at night, but not here. Absolute peace and quiet. The home is well furnished, and the Wi-Fi is spot on. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes. We stayed over the Thanksgiving Holiday and cooked our holiday meal with no problems. The front deck was great and had a clean gas grill. The house sits on quite a large lot, and you can hike to the top of the hill in the back. The owners were quick to answer any questions we had, even over the holiday weekend. We definitely plan another visit.

In my years of traveling, this was the most enjoyable place I’ve stayed. Everything was very clean, well stocked and spacious. It was truly a home away from home. The hosts were available and accommodating. Traveling with little ones for a wedding was hectic and they even had a pack n play and crib on hand. If you are traveling to the area for an event, or want a peaceful retreat this is the place to stay! I would highly recommend.
