It was an ok little cabin themed loft but I cannot give this a good rating. The beds are terrible. And I mean absolutely awful. The most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. 3 queens and each one was bad. If I owned a hotel, the #1 priority would be investing my money into comfortable mattresses for my customers. It's unbelievable that owners take profit over investing into what clearly needs to be updated. Also the main large TV was not equipped with any working streaming services, so that TV was worthless. Finally all we had was 2 rolls of toilet paper. At least keep a pack of 6 ready if you know a family is going to be staying for a few days. The main plus to this hotel is it was in town and right next to Yellowstone...the sole reason we booked it.

Last minute reservation after an exhausting day visiting the park. Rooms are cute and kitschy. Stayed in the “chipmunk” cabin. Pleasant for the money, pet friendly, cozy, close to all the tourist stops. No contact check-in was a first for me, liked it! Easy check out. Would stay in the future.

We had been on the road all day and wanted to possibly check in early. When we got to the front desk, they were very accommodating and made arrangements for us to be able to get to our cabin early. Every interaction we had with the staff was beyond pleasant. The cabin itself was very clean and well maintained. Great place to stay!!

I liked the configuration of the room with a bedroom and a sitting room with an extra bed.
10.0 / 10.0
Liked the size of the room, the checkin/out/etc display/app in the room, the little extra touches of having cutlery, plates, wine glasses, enough coffee, makeup cloth, etc.

Exactly what we were looking for.

Very cute rustic property. Everything was clean and in order. Great value and very handy for visiting yellowstone.

Great place. Nice and clean. But I just rate 4.5 stars at property condition and facilities as the coffee machine didn't work well. I booked for 4 people 3 nights, but just small things like water, napkins...are not enough for 4 of us. The rest is great. Definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

The stay was extremely disappointing and we felt deceived by the pictures, as the rooms are comically small. No support was provided from the property after multiple attempts to request an upgrade to one of the cabin rooms, I was ghosted and left to deal with 2 miserable sleepless nights.
The pros: The property is well maintained and clean which is great. The parking was easy and most every hotel in west Yellowstone is walking distance to restaurants and stores.
The cons: the rooms are insanely small I have no clue how this company gets away with making a room so small. I am 6’1 and was miserable in the room, the bed is for a single person not couples. The bathroom toilet is unusable as it is pushed against the wall and you will bump against the wall each time you get in and out of the shower, beware of the pictures as the room is literally a closet that is decorated nicely. We contacted the property by phone and no answer during business hours, e-mail was the same situation no answer during business hours but I received a response close to 9pm when it is too late to change the rooms or do anything about upgrading.
No extra amenities provided they give you just enough for your stay and won’t pick up the phone and ignore you if you request towels, pillows or a blanket ect. The “no front desk” model is a scam.
For the money that we paid ($600) we were much better off staying at a no frills motel that offers front desk service and a normal size queen or king bed.

Small but comfortable cabin in a great location.

Easy walking distance to town for shopping or dining. The stay is within a 5 minute drive from Yellowstone, making it very convenient to those traveling for this reason. Hosts communicated recommendations and made themselves available if needed.

The cabins are quaint and comfortable. Just be smart about how many people are staying in one. We had cabin #14, "sleeps 4" but there's a single bathroom inside the bedroom, so the others whose bed is in the "main room" (with the kitchenette and table) have to enter the bedroom to use the bathroom. Had we known this, we'd never have booked it.

Only concern we had is the bathroom is a little small. Loved how we reserved and checked in. No problems. For your information the water in the shower was on when we got there. The handle was up and a small amount of water was running. We turned it down and it stopped running.
The next time we are in the area we will look for the Bucking Moose.

Really fun place to stay - cute cabins, comfy beds, conveniences of kitchen sink, microwave and fridge. Great location - close to park entrance. A few things could use some attention: the keyless entry was very tempermental - took numerous tries to get the door to lock and unlock. The tub didn't drain so a shower resulted in water up to the ankles (this seems to be the case wherever I stay - I hate it). We were in the cabin closest to the road so lots of road noise and you can hear anyone walking by if they're talking. But West Yellowstone isn't known for being a quiet, secluded place so to be expected. A newer double-paned windows on the street side of the cabin would likely solve this problem. Overall very good - would stay again.

Loved the cabins, loved the location, the bathroom is a bit too small. Nowhere to set anything down so hard to get ready with 2 people.

This place was beautiful! The room was clean and spacious and exactly what we needed for our stay in west yellowstone

Choices are very limited in West Yellowstone. I chose The Bucking Moose so my family could all be together in one cabin as opposed to two rooms. It was fine - a little snug, ceilings are low and lighting is poor. It could use a bit of a refresh. It was clean though and the staff ( not on site) was very communicative. It was walking distance to food and stores and close to the park.

The property was dirty, smelly and filthy. The price we paid demands higher standard. The stay was unhealthy and disappointing. Basically a rip off.

No check in office. They sent the pass code to the room door at 3pm to my email. I had no internet service so I couldn't get the code and get into the room. Luckily I was able to phone and get the code. Nice little place but advertised a king bed. It was a queen at best, maybe even a double bed. Not a king. Also toilet gurgled. But it was a cute place to spend the night.

Close to the west entrance of Yellowstone park and to the shopping area.

The parking area is awful and no markings. Ppl were unable to leave to the way ppl were parking. The Back area next store was full of weeds on an empty lot.

This property was perfect for our vacation. The cabin worked well for us with proximity to the oark and dining options

Older style motel. They have done work to modernize and update. Kinda noisy. Our room was very small with a tiny bathroom. very close to most restaurants, easy walking distance. About a 5 minute drive to the west entrance of Yellowstone NP.

Be aware that the Wolf Suite #1 that there is a Loft that is above you. Unfortunately you can hear everything the tenant is doing above you, like going to the bathroom and simple moving around. It is also right next to one of the main roads through West Yellowstone so we had that noise as well. We were unaware the loft would be above and we are very light sleepers and did not get any sleep our first night there. I emailed management asking if there was any way to move to a stand alone cabin for the next night if one is not booked and they so graciously let us switch to a cabin. We were so thankful for their responsiveness and willingness to help us out. I would definitely stay here again, now knowing which cabins to book.

The Bucking Moose is a sweet little place. Right off the main drag in West Yellowstone, it’s minutes from the park entrance, the grocery store, and restaurants… and clean, comfortable, well-appointed and safe. And our hosts were great communicators - both proactive and responsive to my questions. Thanks!

The property served its purpose. We could walk to eat our meals. Close to come/go into the park. But Moose Cabin 14 was right next to the road. We heard noisey semis all night long. Didn’t get much sleep.

As expected, nothing fancy, in a good location.

We got unit #1 and no where in the room’s info did it mention it was a two story building, it was advertised as a cabin and unit #1 it’s definitely not a cabin looking space, second floor was super noisy, since place its older. Website shows mainly pictures of the standing alone cabins and show a cooking stove, but there is not cooking stove in the unit we got. Management was not friendly. Unit is right by the busy street so was also very noise all night.

Pet friendly, clean and loved the area. Also very Convenient being just a few minutes from the West entrance from the park

The location is excellent we stayed in Rabbit 8. I would suggest 1. A repair of the gigantic air conditioning hose barely attached to the window. 2. Larger, wall mounted TV with instructions/guide 3. Repair, repaint and number parking spaces. Not having someone on site does not feel very comfortable and no housekeeping for 3 nights does not seem fair for the amount we paid.

Too pricy for quality!

To expensive for such a cramped place.
