Deer, Cows, Donkeys, Bunnies visited us everyday. We spent the weekend in Coldspring at the house and really loved the seclusion. This place is great! LOVE the views front and back.
The interior is comfortable and inviting.
We are thinking about coming back again.
Thanks for sharing this VRBO with us.

My husband and I had a 4 days without kids. We loved this secluded retreat. The night we arrived we sat on the front porch with a glass of wine and enjoyed the wildlife--lightening bugs, deer, birds even an owl landed on the fence to say Hello. We were not directly on the lake but had access through a little canal behind the house. This spring has been a wet one so the water was high enough for us to use the kayaks provided to paddle out to the lake and check it out. The lake was so quiet in the morning we only saw one boat on the water while we were out. Very enjoyable paddle. The house is well laid out and clean. We were only two people so we did not need all the furniture provided but I am sure if family was together it would be useful. The attention to detail was very appreciative. Everything from coffee provided to clean smelling plush towels were appreciated.
Howard the owner was very helpful and communicated quickly. We picked up groceries in Huntsville before arriving and went into Livingston one evening (about a 20 minute drive)and had delicious fresh Mexican food at Hacienda Palomas. We hope to get a chance to do this again someday.

We are seniors so the lack of things to do in the area wasn’t that big of a deal for us! It was to cold to go out on the lake, we were there in the winter months. Still, enjoyed the peace and quit and the wildlife! Howard was a gracious host! Comfortable beds & loved the openness of the house. I enjoyed using the jacuzzi bath! There are a lot of cute shops around Coldspring & in Livingston to check out. All in all, loved the property!

Enjoyed the peace and quiet at the Bungalow. It's décor is cute and the place had everything we needed. The drought kept us from accessing the lake from the property, but we drove to the state park close by and were able to get in from there. Communication was good with owner. FYI... don't use Apple maps for directions, it will send you to the wrong house and doesn't have updated roads in this particular area.

My husband and 12 yo son stayed in the bungalow over a weekend. We arrived at night, the place looked so inviting lit up. Seeing it in the day, made us light up. So much to see around the property and house, whimsical decor outside and in making it such a delight. Home was clean, linens smelled great, the owner has paid attention to detail to ensure you have a great stay.

This was such a peaceful home to stay in. Loved having all the land to walk the dogs on. House had everything we needed. Large wrap around patio with plenty of seating. Peace and quiet. Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Lake Livingston was easy to access (only a 7-minute drive to the marina).

We had a great time at the bungalow! The place was very clean and well kept. It also was fully stocked with everything we could need, including a nice collection of DVDs which we enjoyed watching in the evenings. We spent a lot of time hanging out on the porch, reading/relaxing in the comfortable chairs/hammocks under the fans, as well as playing darts, frisbee, etc that came with the bungalow. We spotted some wildlife that we don't get to see often in the city including deer, fireflies, and a hummingbird. We also loved how close it is to Sam Houston National Forest. Overall it was a great weekend away for my family and not too far of a drive from our home.

We had the best couples get away! The house was so clean and the decor immediately relaxes you when you walk in the door. The owner is so sweet and checked on us to ask if we needed anything. The porch and kayaks are a great touch. We easily paddled out to the lake. The property is the perfect place to relax and unwind away from the city. We hope to return!!! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

The Bluegill Bungalow is the most perfect place to go to unwind. Quietly nestled in the trees at the end of a road, this private bungalow is the perfect marriage between fairy-tale ans Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Would give this property a 5 Stars. Very clean, communication with Owner was excellent.
We enjoyed the kayaks, walks in the neighborhood, grilling, and the wrap around porch was serene. Lots of reading and games as well. Thank you for great memories. Will definitely come back.

From the moment we arrived we were greatly impressed. The property is beautiful and quiet. The amenities were more than expected. The bungalow was extremely clean and smelled great. The front and rear porches were our favorite place to relax, even in the heat of the day. The fans make a huge difference. The beds were extremely comfortable and the sheets and linens smelled great. It was the most relaxing few days we have experienced in that area of the lake. We are DEFINITELY going to keep this one at the top of our list for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

We reallt enjoyed our time at the "bungalow". The property was exactly as expected. We enjoyed use of the kayaks, went fishing and hiking at Livingston State Park, and found the hammocks and porch accommodations relaxing. The kitchen was very well furnished as was the other amenities. You can tell Howard, our host, takes great care in providing a wonderful experience. From the small nice touches of large spa towels, brand new dishes and other extras, there were so many positives. We will definitely be back. I recommend this cute stay for families, a girls trip or anyone looking to relax and get away.

My wife and I (with our two dogs) really enjoyed our stay at the Bluegill Bungalow. The home is well decorated inside to make you feel at home and very well stocked. We really loved the front porch area watching the dog's run the yard while sippin some drinks to decompress and enjoy the sounds of nature and mini fountain pond. The hammock (there are 2) on the porch was very comfortable too! The bedrooms provide for one softer queen bed while the other is more firm - so you can select which fits you best. There is very nice lighting around the home at night which looks real nice and provides good securtiy lighting. Howard was great and was available for questions we had prior and during our stay. We will be back to enjoy again!

What a super find! We took a quick trip to visit family and this property was just a quick drive to the quaint little town of Coldspring. The little bungalow was very welcoming and super clean. I was extremely happy with the accommodations and the attentiveness by the owner to make sure we were checked in and all set. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a bit of privacy.

My husband and I just had the pleasure of being the first guests in this bungalow. Having stayed in quite a few VRBOs, we thought we knew what to expect in terms of amenities. The bungalow is gorgeous and perfectly situated close to the lake, but not right on the lake. There are scenic views from the wraparound porch of a creek and a beautiful garden. We enjoyed the comfortable patio furniture last night while having a glass of wine and watching a thunderstorm. The place is stocked with hotel-like bathroom products, all the fresh towels and pillows you’d want, and they thoughtfully left condiments, bottles of water, and supplies for a hot tea/coffee station. The beds were so comfortable and I could have spent hours soaking in the jacuzzi tub. If you stay, be sure to check out the Paradise Grill in town for breakfast. We will definitely be returning.
