About this house rental
Built 1855, and recently renovated, the "Keepers Dwelling" & attached 4 story Light Tower offers a unique historical and visual experience.
Climb to the top of the lighthouse to marvel at the ingenuity of Mt Hope Bridge. Watch in comfort as sailboats glide-by, and lobster boats drop their pots. Sit under the wisteria arbor and enjoy the early morning calm of Narragansett Bay. Just a few of the unique and memorable experiences for all ages.
The space
Guests will experience what it is like to live in an actual Lighthouse. The views are stunning from every direction. There is a large lawn, perfect for family gatherings and a large patio for outdoor dining and entertaining. A beach immediately adjacent is ideal for fishing and sunbathing. The living room is super comfortable with ample seating. The Kitchen has all the modern conveniences and a utility room with a washer/dryer. Downstairs there is a bedroom with two twin beds (easily converted to a king upon request), and the bathroom with a shower. There is also a super fun outdoor shower. On the second floor there is a spacious master bedroom with a romantic iron bed and a balcony with seating to watch sunrise to the right and sunset to the left. There is also a half bath and what we call the "napping' room where one can read a book, watch tv or just nap!. From the "napping" room it's up a sturdy ladder to a bunk room. From the bunk room there is another ladder through a bulkhead hatch to the lantern room. A conservatory like space enclosed with windows offering breathtaking 360 degree views of Narragansett Bay.
Other things to note
Whether visiting family and friends, looking to experience all New England has to offer or simply looking to relax, the Bristol Lighthouse is an ideal place to stay. Close to the Mount Hope Bridge it is within easy access to Downtown Bristol, the quintessential New England waterfront Town steeped in History and fortunate to have a great many restaurants. Looking to be active, enjoy a bike ride to Warren , walk in Colt State park or play Pickleball on the Common. For a little more people interaction, cross the bridge and visit Newport, famous for its mansions, shopping and scenery. Newport is also know for hosting the Newport Folk Festival and Newport Jazz festival.
Please Note:
Swimming off the beach is not encouraged due to strong currents.
Use bunk room at guests discretion. A trip to the bathroom in the middle of the nights involves a ladder.
Children should always be supervised by a responsible adult. This was a working lighthouse!!!!!!

A fantastic unique stay. We loved the coziness, the cleanliness and the location of this property.
It is a true lighthouse. And the views from the tower were fantastic. And the crisp air there was so refreshing.
We enjoyed the grounds with cornhole. And got great family pictures in front of the flag.
The hosts were so nice. And easy to work with. We had a wedding at Blithewald which was a 3 minute ride.
It’s not walkable to downtown but a 10 minute ride and lots of restaurants and shops to go to.
We will return here if in area.

Unfortunately for us, we booked another VRBO and didn’t have a good experience. I was looking for another home that would take us on short notice, and was blessed to find the lighthouse. I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful and charming this home is. It is clean, well furnished, and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The owners have thought of everything. The master bed is comfortable! My daughter said her bed was comfortable too. We spent a lot of time up in the lighthouse tower watching people fish below us, and watching boats go by. We also bought a fishing pole and went fishing too. We watched a woman catch a small shark right by us! The kitchen is fully appointed. I cooked several times and didn’t see anything missing. The owners were really responsive. I highly recommend this home and we all really hope to return!

Our family of 4 loved this place. Just amazing views. The house was so cozy, and yet there are still plenty of spots to escape for privacy, inside and out. Comfortable beds, great wifi. Simon and Laura are very responsive hosts, and provided many recommendations for restaurants and experiences close by. We used this as a base for exploring Bristol and Newport. Such a memorable time!
