My wife and I stayed and as always Dave Norris was excellent!!! The property was awesome, and everything was as advertised. We cannot wait for all the new amenities; we will be booking this property again. We have stayed with Dave before at the Bellissimo Castle in Gainesville at his other VRBO property and Dave was the BEST!!!! Lake Chatuge was everything it was on the site. Despite other reviews. We Connot believe the poor review that was posted. We booked the house not the new venue. The pool was beautiful and the venue grounds with new amenities were awesome. Dave was the utmost professional!!!!

Owner was nice ,but place was a construction zone outside many of the amenities listed were not there or were unavailable for use . Owner had an issue with the pool and was there daily working on it , also the house was outdated and needed much work on the inside with plumbing issues and mold in the bathroom ceiling. The property was not ready for rental use

I booked this location to celebrate my wedding anniversary with family and friends. One of the main reasons we were attracted to this property was for the outdoor activities. Dave warned that there was some construction going on, but it would not interfere with our stay. The grounds were unsightly and the putt-putt green was gone. There was a golf cart parked in front of the front door which paused a safety concern for me. The house was clean. Plenty of kitchenware. There was even some seasoning to use. There were two sets of washers and dryers. The home was stocked with coffee and tea. One large kitchen would have served us better than having 2, but the home is set up for multiple families. It's like a duplex that was combined. It was clean, but it could really use some updating. For the price, it was not luxury. There was like a mold stain on the shower curtain liner in the king room downstairs. The carpet could use replacing. The grounds were not well kept. The outdoor kitchen area was not appealing to use, the furniture was icky. There is a board loose by the patio door where the exercise equipment is that should be considered a safety hazard. The pictures do not show the tractor company's parking lot right on the other side of the lake. This home is really a 7 bedroom with 2 loft areas with beds which would be suitable for kids. I had to refund some of my guests because the lofts were not private. This was a private location, but needs updates.

This house had all the amenities you need! The pickleball court was a hit for our group. Lots of space for our group to spread out, and everything was really clean. I would definitely stay here again

Plenty of bedrooms, 2 kitchens & 2 sitting rooms with a basement Arcade! Both the adults and the grandchildren had plenty to do before and after the football games.

Property was great. Journey to the fire pit and dock a little challenging for our older and handicapped guest, but we all made it

The house and grounds were the perfect fit for our annual family and friends fall retreat. There was ample space for everyone and tons to do that fit the diversity of ages. The house was clean and the owner was very accommodating for anything we need pr wanted to do. The tweens in our group had a blast and never got bored, while the adults had various spaces to mingle and relax.

We absolutely loved staying here. Large enough to comfortably hold 12 adults and 6 children. Tons of activities to keep everyone entertained. Great location close to lots of hiking trails and outdoor activities.

Fantastic! This is our second time at Nancy and her family’s home. It’s perfect for us. So many bedrooms. 2 full kitchens. Great outdoor area. On the lake. We had a blast. Nancy is so easy to work with and so thoughtful.

All of my siblings and their families got together for a long weekend at the lake. The house had everything we needed for kids and family fun, and the way the house is set up, it made it perfect so that each family had their own little area of bedrooms. Really great fun.

Our large, extended family had plenty of room and so much to do with all of the extra amenities offered. The eleven children ages 2 to 12 were never bored. The lake is lovely and we really enjoyed renting the pontoon boat. The hosts are friendly and helpful.

The property exceeded all expectations. We had rooms for everyone and the gathering places around the home were perfect for a large group. The game room was so much fun for team building. We were able to use the firepit outside and the grill. Such a great time. The owner was awesome with the communications.

We had a good time at this property. We were a family of 5 with kids and the property has enough room for party as large as us. The views and lake as shown in pictures don't look the same so that was a little disappointing. The house could use a change of carpet as it seemed rugged and dirty. A stand alone heater on the porch in winter heater would be a great add. Other than that we had a good time.

We had the pleasure of staying at this amazing Lakehouse right before Thanksgiving, and the house was perfect! Plenty of activities for a large family, from hiking to putt-putt, and a great golden tee setup. The house was very clean and had everything needed. We have already recommended it to a few close friends and looking forward to the next visit. Priscilla, thank you for all your help before and during the stay.

We rented the property for a small wedding. The house is set up perfectly for families to congregate or have privacy if they choose to.
There are so many things to do outside from games to putt putt go volleyball to a beautiful fire pit.
We were married outside and the trees, lake and waterfall made beatbackdrops.

Overall excellent. One large kitchen vs two small kitchens would have been preferred. Poor water pressure in one kitchen.

Wonderful home for a large family vacation. Something for everyone to do. Short drive to trails, waterfalls and Helen. Rent the boat for your stay, it is worth every penny!

We rented this house and a couple smaller ones nearby for our family reunion. The house is very clean. We had young families and babies and everyone was satisfied with the cleanliness. There are a couple rooms adjoining the loft rooms that are only accessed by passing through the bathroom that separates the two rooms. It’s a bit unusual but it worked out ok. We rented both the pontoon boats since we were a large group. We had a blast going to the rope swing, hanging out at small islands, wake boarding and fishing. I had many people tell me they would be happy coming here for all our reunions. We also used the paddle boards and the kayaks. It was very helpful that there was a motorized cart to help transport coolers and elderly people from the house to the dock. The property manager Priscilla is excellent and she goes above and beyond. Thank you for helping make this such a memorable vacation. The only reason I knocked off a star was due certain things needing a little TLC. When you rent the pontoon boat they should have supplied a checklist of damages that the owner is already aware of. We discovered these things after I signed the waiver but I informed the property Mgr promptly and it was not a problem. Check the props for damage in advance. And the panels covering the lower unit of the motors are loosening and missing bolts. The Bimini top had a broken rod that was taped together which didn’t hold. We came up with a temporary fix. None of this interfered with our ability to use the boats. The lower pavilion really needs to be cleaned up. There’s some old boxes of maintenance supplies laying around, boxes of worn out pool toys and cob webs and the cushions for the seats don’t look clean. In the end we stayed up on the decks adjoining the house since it’s hard to bring the babies and all our food up and down those steps anyway. We loved the dock and how it lights up at night but they had a floating island that was gross it’s all filled with algae, quite an eye sore. The kayaks could use a little attention. There were only 2 that had seats that were not broken or missing. You can make it work without the seat insert if you’re not going too far. All and all we would come back and I highly recommend this house for your lake vacation.

How do you rate a house that is great in most ways but failed in one very important, fixable way? The beds, Owner. The beds. The king & queen mattresses desperately need to be replaced (as of July 10, 2021, at least). If you want a good night’s sleep, you won’t get it on these mattresses. Hopefully, they are being replaced.
BUT, the rest of the house exceeded expectations! Our family of 22, from 76 to 10, thoroughly enjoyed our week. Plenty of room to spread out when needed. Plenty of dining space indoors and a covered porch seating 15 or so; more on the other covered porch. Two full kitchens allowed us to have one for breakfast/lunch and the other for dinner stuff.
Lots of games, video and otherwise. Kids enjoyed the volleyball and miniature golf setups, even the hot tub. You need to rent the pontoon boat & “water toys”. That was the highlight for the kids. The boat is like new with a very quiet motor that easily pulled the kids for tubing or skiing. Tubing in the nearby cove in the day for the kids and sunset cruises for the adults. Paddleboards, kayaks, etc. It’s all there for a week of fun. For the non-boaters, keep in mind the pontoon boat gas tank is about 80 gallons. It’s not a cheap fill-up but worth every penny for the fun and memories.
The manager, Priscilla, was very prompt to respond to any questions and super easy to work with. House was very clean and organized when we arrived. Lots of towels and other supplies on hand. Plenty of parking. Look closely at the house photos. There are a lot of steps to get to the dock. As they say, “It is what it is.” In spite of the distance, we were pleasantly surprised at how easily you can talk with folks on the dock from the house balcony.
Without the bed issues, I would easily give this place 5 stars. Our family enjoyed the week together and the house & boat were big factors in that. Great memories were made. Hopefully, the beds will be upgraded soon.

The property has everything for a family looking to have house days and enjoy the amenities, including the boat which was a lot of fun! We had 20 family members 10 kids ages 4-16 and 10 adults. The pictures do need to be updated as there is no peddle boat, and the boat offered is the black top that’s in the water not the red top pictured, (there’s 2 boats on property.) Property manager Priscilla was amazing and always available and very responsive to all of our needs. Highly recommend and hope to stay here again soon!

We had a awesome time at the Bend of the River lodge for our week long family vacation. We had 6 adults and 5 kids (ages 4-16) and everyone had a great time. Paying extra to have the boat all week was definitely the right call and the kids wanted to go out everyday. We loved having the two main kitchens so people could spread out when making dinners. Tons of activities so the kids had a blast every day!

My 70+ year old parents, brothers, myself, our mostly adult children and grandchildren stayed in this amazing lodge for a week. We enjoyed coffee in the mornings looking out over the lake, cooking meals together in the two full kitchens, boating, kayaking, cookouts, board games and so much more. We celebrated a birthday and early Father’s Day while we were there. This is a great place for memory making!

All of the younger visitors 7-55 had a great time on the rented kayaks and boards. Spent most of the day on the lake. The owner happened to be nearby. He was awesome and could not have asked for a better owner. The two kitchens worked out great for the family and all the extra games and activities were as advertised. Communication with the property was faultless as was check in.

We had 17 family members staying in the lodge. We celebrated my nephew’s high school graduation. Ages ranged from 8 years old to 60 years old. The kids had the time of their life. Everyone was entertained by all the amenities the house offered. They played volleyball, mini folder, badminton, air hockey, etc. Me, sister, and dad sang our butts off using the karaoke machine. The guys enjoyed playing Golden Tee. The entire family enjoyed the boat and the paddle boats. The kids loved the knee boarding and tubing. A huge float was available for us to tie off to the dock and enjoy the water. You will never get bored at this location. We definitely recommend it and would love to return one day.
A Dollar General was a few miles down the house and a very nice grocery store was a little more miles down. If your family are drinkers like mine it’s good to know to bring your own liquor. Beer sales are not at the gas station and can’t be sold at grocery store till after 12 on Sunday. We had to drive to NC, which wasn’t too far away, to get liquor.

We had senior leaders of our organization for a week. There is plenty of spacious room for 8 adults and many relaxing activities.

we have had the pleasure of staying at the chalet several times. Living in Atlanta, the Chalet gives us a nice relaxing break from the congestion of the city. We are able to unwind and relax if we want, or go hiking up to Brasstown Bald or other nearby trails. We brought our Kayaaks up and took them down the river. I would recommend the chalet to anyone of any age for relaxation or outdoor adventure.

Beautiful home. We rented both sides for a family reunion and had a great time. The home is in excellent shape. Lots of room to spread out. Everything in good working order. The hot tub was a hit with the kids. We did not get out on the lake because it was a chilly Thanksgiving and the lake was down for repairs on the hydroelectric plant. Town is close by with shopping for those interested and golf for the rest of us. I would highly recommend this property.
