About this house rental
Enjoy a fabulous Mediterranean holiday with family or friends in our light, spacious villa just minutes from the centre of the historic seaside town of Collioure.
Sip a glass of chilled local wine on one of the house's two spectacular terraces, overlooking the sea or the hills, or enjoy a cool swim in the pool, surrounded by bougainvillea in the secluded, enclosed garden.
Our villa is in a peaceful location, but just a 6 minute walk from Collioure's stunning beaches, restaurants and galleries.
The three double bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and the two twins, both of which have French doors leading onto the garden, share a large bathroom. All the bedrooms have air conditioning and heating. Bathrooms are all decorated in clean, modern style and contain contemporary fittings.
The light, airy main reception room is furnished with two comfortable sofas and Eames armchairs. The room leads on to an enormous terrace with panoramic views of the sea and the Chateau Royal. A large modular sofa and a dining table that seats up to 10 people mean this terrace is a main focal point of summer days.
As keen cooks we have ensured that the modern kitchen is equipped to a high standard - we love creating delicious meals with the abundant local ingredients.
The downstairs sitting room runs the length of the house and features a huge modular sofa, a Smart TV and a full-size table football table. It's a great chill zone for kids and teenagers.
The garden is Mediterranean-style, filled with the vivid colours of bougainvillea and plumbago. The aqua-coloured pool (11 metres) has an electronic safety cover. The garden also contains a table tennis table and enough space for a fun game of petanque. Both a wood-fired and gas barbecue/ plancha mean there are plenty of options for outdoor cooking.
A second terrace to the rear of the house, with table and corner sofa, means that on windy days guests can enjoy a meal or a game of cards whilst taking in the views of the vineyards and the Fort St Elme.
The property is located in a quiet residential area, and guests are provided with a key to a special shortcut which takes you to the gorgeous beaches and restaurants on the historic town centre in just 6 minutes by foot. We will give you a great list of our favourite restaurants, markets, galleries and walks so that you can get away from the tourists and enjoy living "like a local".
Collioure is a beautiful fishing village at the foot of the Alberes mountains and just a few miles from the Spanish border. Its medieval church tower, fort and narrow, bougainvillea-clad streets, as well as the pinky hue of the sky and sea, made it a haunt for artists such as Matisse and Derain. The Templiers bar, with its walls covered in oil paintings, remains just as it was in their day, and evenings can be spent there or at one of the beach bars, drinking Banyuls and then going on to one of the wonderful Catalan restaurants in the town. There are no fewer than 6, very safe, beaches in the town with fabulous protected swimming areas and then a short drive away there are more beaches with plenty of water sports on offer. Excellent walking routes and bike rides are just minutes away in the Alberes.
It's also easy to visit the lovely market town of Ceret (a favourite of Picasso), the fishing port of Port Vendres, the long white sands of Argeles, or go across the border to Cadaques, Figueres, Girona and the Costa Brava.
In all, there is a lot of fun to be had, whatever season you visit

The large villa overlooking Collioure to the sea is a truly great place to relax. Large rooms, well furnished and finished throughout. Multiple exterior zones including a large 1st floor decking with amazing views. Inground pool, bbq grill options and ample seating for dinner or relaxation. We enjoyed as a couple but it can accommodate 2 families comfortably. Highly recommend, would love to return.

The house is beautifully decorated and very well equipped; from the kitchen, to a lovely pool with plenty of loungers, outdoor areas to bbq, sit and eat and admire fabulous views of the sea and mountains. We had rain one day and amused ourselves with the table football, games, books, tv etc. An excellent house for our family holiday for adults!
Catherine, who looks after the house, was very friendly and helpful.

We recently returned to reality from a blissful week at this incredible property. The views from this villa were like a daily postcard of the idyllic French coastal village with mountains and the sea as backdrops. We took amazing hikes every day to earn the wonderful food and local wines we were happy to consume at both the villa and the recommended restaurants in the area. The layout of the villa afforded enough privacy for our 4 couples as well as perfect group gathering space on the upper deck, pool terrace, and ample kitchen/dining/living area. Wish we could have had the vacation time to stay longer and explore more, but hope to return in another season to take time to immerse in this charming region and use this villa as our perfect base.

We visited the villa with 10 adults- my wife and I plus 4 sons and their girlfriends/wives. The villa was perfect and we found there to be plenty of room. The pool was perfect and isn't overlooked so everything felt very private. There is plenty of equipment and the table tennis table came in very useful on the only wet day we had. There is only a short walk to reach the town so its only a ten to fifteen minute round trip walk to the bakers for breakfast croissants! We had a great time and wished we could have stayed for longer.

We had a wonderful week in this gorgeous house. Collioure is picture-perfect and the sea is crystal clear. The villa was extremely well set up for our family of 7..(kids, us and grand-parents), with enough space for everyone. We had our meals on the kitchen terrace looking out to sea and the kids loved the pool.
We went to the excellent market and bought fish, dresses, ceramics and jewellery; ate crepes; fished off the harbour walls; swam and snorkelled in the sea in the evenings; visited Le Racou and Pailles beaches as well as the wonderful marine reserve at Cerbere; had a tapas feast over the border in Figueres (great shopping) and enjoyed a day in Perpignan for art, architecture and meandering. All in all, an amazing week that finished too quickly. I'm sure we'll be back. Thank-you x

This house was absolutely perfect and from the moment we arrived it exceeded all expectations. The villa is beautifully laid out, wonderfully furnished and in a great location with easy access to the main town which is just stunning with beaches to swim from, cafes and bars to enjoy as well as lovely places to eat. The owners provided intricate noted which gave us everything we needed to know resulting in no time wasted trying to figure things out for ourselves, and we would highly recommend following the guidance closely! A fantastic pool meant that we could retreat from the beach and find peace and quite and the generous additions of football and table tennis tables and an entire 'teenage' den meant there was space for all of us to find a place to relax. Collioure itself is an absolute hidden gem and just so pretty. A wonderful twice weekly market in the summer, a stunning harbor and all you could need within walking distance of the villa. We could not recommend this villa more highly and really hope to return to do more of the owner's recommendations! Thank you for an amazing holiday.and letting us stay in your home.

A spacious property with 5 large bedrooms, all air-conditioned. The newly painted house is full of lovely art and well stocked with things to do - pétanque, table tennis and “babyfoot”.
The kitchen is obviously owned by a food lover, with everything from coffee machines, to paella dishes , orange juice squeezers and loads of presentation dishes.
It was hot when we stayed, so having the pool just a few metres from the downstairs kids sitting room (yes, there are two!) was very useful.
But perhaps our favourite bonus (apart from whiling away the early evenings on the enormous terrace) was the information about all the local - and quirky- restaurants that this couple favour as well as many local leisure activities and walks.
A great stay.
