It was in a good location
It was freezing cold no heating at all

Good location in town. One of the few places that can offer just one nights accommodation.
The owner was quick to respond to questions.
Breakfast, paid for separately was good.
The room wasn’t great and needed a few things fixing including the windows that we couldn’t open.

The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly.

Very quirky
Noisy with traffic noise. Secondary glazing didn’t fit properly. Green light shining in room meant room wasn’t dark. Ended up checking into another hotel so we could get a nights sleep

Great location in Sudbury. Easy to park safely near by. Helpful host.
Shower a bit slippery - easily solved with a mat.

Rooms basic, but at least clean
Bed OK
Parking on street
Place was closed except for the rooms
Breakfast extra, and didn't start until 09:00, no good for business travellers

Location excellent, Staff super, comfortable beds, good hot instant shower, tea and coffee in room.
No complaints, windows in room could do with a bit of renovation.

Great location
Staff and owner Tracy very helpful .
Bedding very clean and fresh . Coffee & tea making facilities good . Blankets and hot water bottles nice touch .
Didn't get chance yo sample the food but looked very nice . Had a wedding so we ate in town for breakfast .
Needs a little more attention to room to be better than it is .
Lovely old wardrobe but no rail or hangers inside to hang clothes .
Bathroom shower needs attention, showr head keeps falling as you shower. Fan above needs a good clean .
The room my son was in didn't have a wardrobe at all and no hangers for their clothes .

Only needed the room as a base for visiting relatives but it was comfortable and clean.

Nice room and bed linen
The noise level and vibrations from banging doors late at night was significant and disturbing.

Really unique and beautiful property. Quirky decor and the room was comfortable and well maintained. Free parking right outside as long as there is space on the road. The host Tracy was so accommodating, really helpful and kind about nearby attractions, and although there was a party on that eve, put us a few delicious pizzas in so that we could eat before we left for a gig.
Nothing not to like!

A lovely characterful place to stay. Ideally situated for the Quay Theatre. Very pleasant staff. Both evening meal and breakfast were really tasty.

Lovely location, lovely hosts who were very helpful and friendly
The room was slightly dusty in places and the macerator was very loud at times!

not open to us. we went there because of a nice cafe but was told on three occasions Am mid day and evening (also not open on Sundays )
POOR and very Disappointing
The whole place was not open to us. we went there to be able to use the Cafe or some down stairs area.
we were told we could not use it …am Sat no table available for coffee when we arrived. back at mid day to eat sorry we have a party all areas closed. evening told on food as party is still going on. Sunday for breakfast we are closed on a Sunday. Also no parking one hour out side the property but always full. my husband can not walk to far and this weekend was spoilt by this. The room was not much better, very small 8ft by 13 usable area. nowhere to sit and very small double. decor and cleanliness just ok. We will not be using again. 89 pounds for a
box room no chill area, no food available all weekend.
Painters iv heard your cafe is good you really need to include your guests into this part of your business.
This would have made our stay so much more enjoyable. if you can not accommodate your guests please let them know before hand.

I had the pleasure of being the very first guest coming from booking. The very nice owner didn't expect it to happen so quickly, as it was only online on Thursday and three days later on Sunday this guy (me) from Germany arrives. The hotel is part of a pub – which is closed on Sunday – which was the reason for the surprise :-) After I was shown my room, I learned from her that she had only just moved her Painters' café to this pub. The room was clean (and large), shower and heating worked great and I had this special honor of getting to know the owner. I wish all the best for this little hotel which is only 250 yards from the town center.
