About this house rental
Summary:
Just minutes away from shops, local breweries, McGeorge School of Law, the Golden 1 Center, restaurants and bustling midtown; the UC Davis Med Center is but a few skips away, too.
This is a 1930's artist’s bungalow with a colorful vibe. Your booking actually helps real artists within the community! Their art is featured in the house and also available for purchase :)
The Space:
The entire bungalow is available for access. There's a big backyard and a medium sized deck. Enjoy it. Your booking actually helps real artists within the community! Their art is featured in the house and also available for purchase :)
The detached garage is a closed space and is kept locked. Only the groundskeeper has access.
The Neighborhood:
Oak Park is a rapidly gentrifying area. The area is generally quiet, but sometimes (usually on the weekends/evenings) there are the occasional festivities. The house is about a 7 minute walk from the always fun broadway triangle; an area with great shops, breweries, GREAT FOOD and a kick ass bookstore. I love the Plant Foundry (nursery and garden) and i think you might, too.
Also, if you're stopping by in the Summer months (May - September) I highly recommend a visit to Oak Park Gather- a neighborhood event featuring local food and beverage vendors, cool crafts AND live music!
Getting Around:
If you get the chance, try the city's newest form of transit - electric bike sharing! JUMP Bikes are becoming more and more popular in the area and are a really fun way to get around. Of course Uber and Lyft are everywhere too!
Public transportation runs up and down the main cross street (Broadway); although I'm not the best with navigating the routes. Midtown is a 5 minute car ride away.
If you have a car, feel free to park right in front of the house on the street.
Other Things to Note:
The bathroom is attached to two bedrooms (jack and Jill). The third bedroom has a curtain for privacy instead of a door.
NOTE: We do NOT HAVE cable services. We offer streaming services such as Netflix, Roku, Prime, & Hulu. (Guest has to use their own Netflix account)
We encourage guests not to start fire pits/BBQ in the home as well due to surrounding trees that may start a fire. Failure to comply may result to a $199 charge and termination of stay.
Interaction with Guests:
At the front door, you can say "Hi" with the Nest Video Doorbell - just push the button (if you want to)
When you walk in, just say "Alexa, turn on the living room light!"
Basic household information is on the kitchen table. Wifi, tv navigation, lights (alexa) and temp control instructions are posted as well. I've lived in Sacramento now for over 20 years- If you'd like advice on where to go for great food, entertainment or even a leisurely hike, just let me know ;).
If you need anything else, I can meet, you can call me or we can message.

This is a cute little house. It comfortably fit our family of five. It was walking distance to the grocery and restaurants. It was clean and well-furnished. If you visit, you should drive to the Old Sacramento waterfront. It will take you back in time.

Overall a nice place to stay. We traveled with our young children and they had a lot of fun. The Mortal Kombat game didn’t work, but PAC Man was so fun to play. The yard could use some TLC. Cozy and convenient. Good communication from the host.

Ten minutes from downtown, in a quiet neighborhood. Tons of room and great for our two pets.

Our group of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) stayed for 2 nights. We found the home to have everything we needed and appreciated that the thermometer was set when we arrived. On a chilly rainy day it was nice to arrive to a warm home.
The home has smart features and an updated kitchen. As advertised, all of the beds are king sized and very comfortable. The jack-and-jill bathroom worked great for us because it allowed us to each have very close access to it.
We really enjoyed looking at the art on the walls and knowing that we were helping to support local artists by staying there. As an added bonus, there was enough seating for all of us to watch tv comfortably and be spaced out.
The neighborhood was okay; we neither encountered nor saw any negatives. The home is a corner lot with the street parking in front of the home being more crowded than the side of it. We were able to find parking in front of the home each night.
We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in town!

Great time attending concert at Discovery park with friends and family. This house was easily accessible and surrounded by great coffee and eats. The house itself is wonderful with that old Sac feel. Beautiful. Will definitely stay here again.

This place lived up to the pictures and write-up!
Even the "arcade" was cool. Incidentally, you can access a bunch of other games in the main menus; I had quite a marathon session of Tubin'!
The AC worked great, especially important since it was super hot the weekend of our stay. Floor plan is nice and open and the kitchen and bfast bar were great. I also love the porch in front. In the AM we would take our coffee and breakfast out there. At Sunset switch to a beer. Very pleasant!

Really cute house, Kitchen is open and great for hanging out. My husband loved the game room and spent late nights in there. Owner of property was easy to communicate with and everything on the property description was accurate. The bed was really comfortable and we had no problems sleeping. Recommend this property if anyone is in Sacramento area.
