About this villa rental
A small paradise: tradition combines with contemporaneity, peace & nature.
Typical example of rural construction of the Minho of the nineteenth century, this villa is located in the region of Braga.
Integrated in an old farmhouse, which has fields, vineyards and a pine forest distributed over an area of more than 6000 m2, it offers visitors privacy and a privileged atmosphere for relaxation.
This sunny and quiet champagne house is fully equipped.
It has a private swimming pool with a beautiful panoramic view of the Tâmega. The surroundings where the pool is very private and allows naturism. Its location gives it a magnificent view of the countryside.
The pool house has two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and veranda with an exclusive wooden table for guests.
Upon booking the main house, the pool house may be used as well.
The Portuguese atmosphere and the peaceful location ensure that you will have a carefree vacation, far away from the busy city centers.
The rustic furnishings, traditional materials and ornate carpets take you back to the time when a rich farmer used to live here. You can also see it on the old stairs, walls and porches, made of large natural stones.
The vacation home is surrounded by trees, which provide plenty of shade on hot summer days. If the heat becomes unbearable, take a dip in the swimming pool while enjoying the beautiful panorama.
Moreover, you can visit many cities of culture in this region, such as Fafe, Guimarães, Braga, Porto, Amarante, Chaves (between 30 min to 60 min by car). In the meadow of the Douro region where the famous Port Wine is produced, this refuge in a small village on the banks of the river Tâmega is surrounded by the nature of the forest and the vineyards of the country. It is ideal for families looking for a restful vacation.
In the area we produce the "vinho verde". It certainly deserves a tasting.
If you like festivals and the outdoors then the month of June is ideal. If you like wine tasting and harvesting activities, then the month of May, June, September or October is the best.
We are waiting for you and we know you will love it!

We enjoyed our stay at the villa very much. Peaceful and tranquil, the pool area was gorgeous but the breeze in the balcony of the villa made it very pleasant during the heat of the day and the evening time.
Hosts were charming, all amenities worked well…very enjoyable stay.

We were a family of 6 with parents, grandparents and 5 year old twin girls. In the words of the twins " this is amazing". Everything was perfect and the amout of things included with our stay was beyound anything we have seen before. Geraldene met us and explained everthing to us with a grand tour of the property. She was always available if needed and is an incredable host and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxed stay with old world charm and modern conveniences. Steve and family, Canada

We stayed for two weeks at the end of September. We expected mixed weather and that is what we had. The first week was cloudy but warm which gave us a chance to explore local cities like Braga and Guimaraes. The second week we had glorious sunshine and made the most of the swimming pool.
The house has a lot of character with living accommodation over two floors with a spiral staircase, and the outside terrace or balcony was a lovely place to sit and watch the sunset. As someone in another review commented, the pool is quite a walk from the house down steps and cobblestone paths, and so it may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. However when you get there the pool is lovely. Having the pool house with the extra fridge, dishwasher etc was ideal for relaxed lunches. We could imagine teenagers using the two bedrooms in the pool house to get away from their parents - and vice versa!
The vino verde from the vineyard was delicious! We were fortunate enough to be there during the vine harvest and were invited to join in harvesting the grapes. For us it was a once in a lifetime experience.

How can you not like a villa in a vineyard! The villa was exactly as described, plenty of space and clean. The kitchen had a very good range of utensils and was of a good size, the rooms were all good, and although there was no air conditioning that did not matter, there was a lovely cool breeze (the lack of mosquitos meant the windows could be left open). Would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to get away, relax in a beautiful location, the pool with the kiwi trees providing shade, the veranda on the first floor with breath-taking valley views, what more could you ask

Great place to go to unwind, surrounded by vineyards, great spaces inside and out. The pool was lovely. Owners and managers were all great. Would strongly recommend to friends

The Villa itself is very large with a lovely balcony overlooking the vineyards and the river. The swimming pool was heaven in the heat, and has an even better view across the valley. The setting is perfect for those who have car use and want something in the heart of the countryside. Nearest facilities are only a short drive away. The Vinho Verde they produce at the family vineyards that surround the villa is very nice too!

Our group of 6 (ages ranging from 1 to 60 year old) stayed for 4 days during a heat wave. Geraldine was extremely helpful and available for any questions, making the check in process very easy. The house, as advertised, does not have ac, and we visited during a heat wave so the bedrooms were a little hot until the cold of the night set in. Perhaps some fans would help bring some of the coolness in for the very hot nights, even though these temperatures are usually for the country. The pool and views were amazing and we loved the number of available bathrooms for such a big group. Keep in mind that the access to the pool is very steep, so difficult for older guest and well as kids. Only suggestion would be to add a high chair for kids as there was a crib. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

What most surprised us, was the house and its commodities, that look a lot better than what we could see in the pictures...the house was huge with plenty of spaces to relax and appreciate the tranquility of this Portuguese region called Minho. On top of that, the amazing pool with a view to remember was the perfect place to appreciate all the surrounding vineyards and the Tâmega river. Absolutely stunning!!!

Absolutamente deslumbrante !!!

This lovely granite house is in a fabulous location with spectacular views across the vineyard, down to the River Tamega and the valley beyond. The house was cool even when it was hot outside. The pool area was beautifully maintained and the swimming pool was a joy to swim in to cool down. We enjoyed sitting on the upstairs verandah at the end of the day, with a glass of vinho verde from the vineyard, watching the sun go down. We ate at several local restaurants and enjoyed the typical Portuguese dishes with a glass of wine at very reasonable prices. We found it an interesting area to explore and were delighted to come across small villages were time appeared to have stood still.
Our ensuite rooms were clean and comfortable and the house was well equipped for the six of us. I would recommend staying here to discover a little of the real Portugal.

Large, traditional house set in the grounds of a vineyard, totally secluded. Property was spotlessly clean on arrival and well equipped. Owners very friendly and quick to respond to queries. Comfortable bedrooms all en-suite. Large reception rooms, however we spent most of our time eating outside or sitting on the veranda surrounding the house. Pool area set away from the house, however it is very pretty and large with plenty of space to sit or for kids to play. 10 minutes drive from nearest town with supermarkets, cafes etc and close to larger roads making visits to larger towns such as Guimaraes, Braga & Chaves very easy. Straightforward drive from Porto Airport. Would thoroughly recommend.

The villa is located on the upper side of a valley overlooking the River Tamega and extensive vineyards - the owners produce a very drinkable Vinho Verde and at just 3 Euros a bottle!!! The location is very peaceful. There's a terrace for breakfast and a first floor balcony for after dinner drinks and a clear sky full of stars.
The four of us thought it one of the best villas we've ever stayed in, very well equipped and everything working properly . The villa was spotlessly clean.
In the courtyard there is a fresh water spring, we stopped buying bottled water on day 2 and drank the spring water.
The swimming pool is very well maintained and has a wonderful panoramic view.
We would seriously consider returning here in the next few years. But maybe next time for 2 weeks. Thank-you Helena and Juliana!

Starting with 30” thick granite walls with h beautiful custom doors and windows. Then go to wonderful pool or swing softly in a hammy, you can’t go wrong. Comfy beds, nice bathrooms. Great furnishings. A keeper.

We spent a very relaxing holiday in July-August 2018. When we arrived Geraldine gave us an elaborate tour of the house and the grounds. She provided us with all the useful information: restaurants, shops, accommodation......She even guided us by car to the local restaurants and supermarkets. On Sunday evening she came back with a coffee machine (which was highly appreciated) and some vegetables from her own garden. She's a real gem. She's only a phone call away and will do anything to help you if necessary. Thank you very much for the effort.
During the first week of our stay it was scorching hot but the pool, the many shaded areas in the garden and the cool interior of the house came to the rescue. We thoroughly enjoyed walking through the vineyards to the river, exploring the grounds, chilling by the pool, going on excursions. The pool is a little walk (about 100m) from the house but since we could use the fridge, toilet and shower in the poolhouse, that was not a problem at all. The views from the pool and the balcony of the house are incredible: you can sit, relax and enjoy them for hours on end.
We were a group of four and the house and grounds provided ample space: spacious interior, well-equipped kitchen, good-sized bedrooms and bathrooms..... We had breakfast near the kitchen, lunch at the poolhouse, drinks before dinner at the pool for which the little shaded area, the wooden table and chairs are ideal.
Doing the shopping is quite easy: Cavez has a small shop for groceries, Arco de Baûhle is a convenient 10 minutes' drive to local butchers, bakers, mini-supermarkets, restaurants, Cabaceiros de Basto has a weekly market, Continente.....
One call to Geraldine and we could even order the Villa Franca wine which Joseph delivered to our doorstep in the mornings! A useful tip since the wine is excellent.
We adored staying at the villa and will certainly consider coming back.
