About this apartment rental

Built in 1890, and located in Lancaster’s historic district, the ‘Houdini House” takes it’s name from the famed Welsh Brothers Circus that Harry Houdini once performed with along South Lime St. The studio is a short walk to everything downtown has to offer, and the neighborhood is known for it's colonial architecture and tree-lined streets that provide travelers with a portal into America's past and access to downtown Lancaster’s best breweries, dining, shops and more!
The ‘Houdini House’ was recently restored with tasteful touches throughout. The space hints to a past when things were simpler while highlighting the creature comforts one demands of today's modern spaces. Tasteful accent lighting, hardwood floors, and high quality linens ensure a good night's rest, while the smart tv and Xfinity high speed internet provide travelers the peace of mind of staying connected. The studio is filled with afternoon light throughout and offers enough space for four guests to enjoy comfortably. You can rest assured knowing the space is professionally cleaned and cared for, and our team is readily available to ensure your experience in staying with us is the absolute very best.
The studio entrance is easily accessed from S. Lime St. (See check-in link). Enter through the front, blue double doors at the front of the home. Once inside, the entry door to the studio is to the right . All areas of the home are secure and have outdoor security cameras.
We are available through the Airbnb app or phone, and we have a local service team should you need assistance during your stay.

The place itself was ok. Big problem was there was no where to park after i bought a 5 day parking pass which i didn't know i was required to purchase until 1 hour before check in. First night i ended up parking 3 blocks away, lucky it was a holiday so car didn't get towed. Had an issue with temperature in room also. Very cold and had no way to control in room. Tried to contact owner twice with no response. Ended up leaving after first night and purchased another vrbo in the country. Really wished it had worked out.

This little studio is in a cute historic property. The space is very clean and nicely decorated, the bed is comfortable, and considering I was just using the space to sleep, the space worked. Because the property is old though, sound travels quite easily and there have been no steps taken to minimize sound from traveling. I could hear the upstairs tenants and their tv quite easily, as well as when they were on the stairs - just on the other side of the wall from the head of the bed. The street in front of the property is quite busy and the windows offered no sound proofing at all so I could hear the traffic, which was quite loud, until around 2am. If you are a sound sleeper, this shouldn’t be a problem. Unfortunately, I’m not. Some throw rugs for the unit upstairs might at least help with the noise coming from up there. Otherwise, I appreciated how clean and well-maintained this unit was and how close to the convention center, where I needed to be.
