About this apartment rental
The (Marquis de) Lafayette is located in the heart of Lancaster’s historic district and a block to Musser Park. This one bedroom, upper floorflatis a short walk to all that downtownhas to offer. Lancaster's historic district is known for it's colonial architecture and tree-lined streets that provide travelers with a portal into America's past. The home is close to the city's best breweries, dining, shops and more, and has one off street parking space for added convenience.
Built in 1794, the Lafayette is a spacious, downtown apartment home overlooking one of Lancaster’s most prestigious, private city gardens. The space hints to a past when things were simpler while highlighting the creature comforts one demands of today's modern spaces. The bedroom fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere during cooler nights, and the bed and high quality linens ensure a peaceful night's rest. The home is equipped with a smart tv and Xfinity high speed internet to provide travelers the assurance of staying connected. The shared outdoor area allows guests to interact with other travelers, yet equally provides plenty of space for a more intimate travel experience. The home is filled with morning light throughout and offers enough space for four guests to enjoy comfortably. The home is professionally cleaned and cared for, and our team is readily available to ensure your experience in staying with us is the absolute very best.
The Lafayette entrance is easily accessed by parking in the rear of the home located at 133 E. Marion St. (See check-in link). The third parking space from Marion St. is reserved for this home. Once parked, enter through the iron gate to the right of the garage, and follow the path through the yard and up the stairs just past the fire pit. All areas of the home are secure and have outdoor security cameras. The entrance to the Lafayette is private and the laundry room and rear outdoor space is shared with other apartment homes on the premise. The laundry area is accessible from the exterior of the home by following the path under the stairs to the door next to the trash & recycling area.
Our team is available through the Airbnb app or phone, and our service team is in the neighborhood should you need assistance during your stay.

The Lafayette has a walk-score of 98, so for those who love an adventure walk - Lancaster is a foot warriors dream!
In addition, Lancaster has a network of bike paths with mindful motorists and clearly marked bike lanes throughout the city. The city is inter-connected by rivers, parks, and side alleyways that are sure to leave a lasting impression. For those looking to travel by car, you’ll appreciate the lack of traffic often found in larger metropolitan cities. If you take a car, be mindful of our local horse carriages and buggies often found traveling throughout our community and back-country roads.
The home is 420/smoker friendly, but in outside areas only, at least ten feet away from windows and doors.

Great location! Clean and quiet. Only suggestion to offer would be a little welcome pamphlet that might include reminder of the WiFi info, instructions on the fireplace, etc as well as recommendations for local shops. Most of this info avail online, but older guests might appreciate the information on paper as well.

I'll start with the good. The location and property were very nice. It has a pretty little courtyard in the back. The bed was amazing as was the shower! However, now the not so good. The fireplace wouldn't work and I didn't have good communication on how to fix it. The other thing is you could hear a crying baby the whole time! I get that it's a city but oh my goodness you could hear everything in the building!

The stairs are many and narrow especially moving luggage which I found challenging for me . Having off street parking was nice but the area walking to the unit is not well lit and I was a little uncomfortable given the neighborhood . Area maps and info would have been helpful but not provided . The kitchen area is small and could benefit from a couple storage cabinets . tv is a little small for the space and the seating is low and uncomfortable . Lighting in bedroom is minimal and living room lamp has to be plugged in to use and unplug off. Cozy for sure but could improve on creature comforts . Bath area /shower was great . Lower unit had a noisy tenant a few nights and their cooking smells permeated upstairs . I’d be concerned staying there if solitude is important as it is for me . It was great when no one was below . Overall I had a good visit but I’d probably look at another location on a future visit . I’m older and The stairs were really challenging for me .

I was in town for a conference and the Laffayette was a short walk to the convention center. I appreciated the off street parking so that I didn't have to worry about moving my car.
The outdoor space is really beautiful and the apartment is super clean and comfortable! The bed was really comfortable with nice cotton sheets, and the small kitchen was just what I needed.
