If you are looking for something away from the crowds, this is it. Lovely rural location within easy drive of attractions. Shopping nearby. Great host who provided insight into our activities. Home was clean and neat and as advertised. We really enjoyed our stay!!

We are two friends touring Portugal. We had a lovely stay here. House as advertised. The owners met us on arrival. Had snacks for us and recommended dining on a pre printed sheet. Loved having space to spread out and relax at end of the day. Would stay here again.

After contact the owners on our arrival, we were met by a very friendly couple that showed us around the home. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed staying in the small village outside of Coimbra. We have plenty of bedrooms and baths for the three of us. We enjoyed driving around to explore the restaurants in the different villages surrounding Coimbra which was different than being in the city.

Quaint retreat in a tiny village outside of Coimbra. Made good use of the beautiful private pool to recharge between busy days. Need a car for everything! And an adventurous driver to navigate the tight streets. Host was very nice.

The house is typical of a Portuguese home with everything you will need plus an outdoor pool. Lovely country village just a short distance from Coimbra. Great host, helped us find our way after getting lost and met us to show us around. Just wish we had given it more time.

Such a beautiful little village in the hills near Coimbra. Great parking in the front, plenty of room for 2-3 couples and the swimming pool was the perfect way to end a day of exploring Coimbra. Coffee, juice, cookies & fruit were provided by the host. The nearby restaurant of Dom Franguito had the best chicken we have ever eaten. We happened to be in Villa Verde during a festival & met many of the locals who were so friendly & gracious. I highly recommend this house!

From Ricardo’s great communication throughout, to our initial reception and terrific guidance, to the lovely generosity of the home’s owners- we loved our stay in Vila Verde. Felt a little part of the community for a week! Easy trip into Coimbra and then made a number of day trips from there. Great market and bakery nearby, coffee shops and several restaurants too. House was very comfortable- pool and front and back gardens were wonderful! We will recommend!

We loved our stay in Vila Verde - it’s a lovely little village and we met very friendly people. The small épicerie on the left sold excellent bread and fruit so we were able to get basic supplies. Ricardo’s recommendation of Franguitos as a nearby casual dinner was great - perfect after a day’s travelling. His mother greeted us and was delightful- we both had a bit of French in common so communicated just fine. It’s an easy drive into Coimbra and we went exploring there for two out of our three days. It was nice to relax and rest-up back at the apartment which has a lovely garden and outdoor seating on one side and the pool on the other. The solar heating of the pool works a treat. All in all, highly recommended.

We had a more than lovely stay here. Luxury is found in the private pool, airconditioned bedrooms and fully stocked kitchen, but it is really the personal service, homey atmosphere and warm feeling than totally won us over. Our family could not have wished for a better place. Sure, it is a bit far away (i.e., 20 mins by car) from bigger shopping and dining opportunities, but that can (and for us was) a plus.

We spent four nights here while touring Coimbra, Obidos, Nazare, and Conimbriga. It was a good location for visiting them all (Obidos and Nazare a bit far but not difficult). The home is spacious, clean, and all the appliances work well. Peaceful country view, charming neighborhood mixed with old and new homes, farm fields. Refreshing swimming pool. BEST VRBO HOSTS we've ever had. They greeted us with fresh fruit and juice, and lots of information about the area. Excellent restaurant recommendations (do not miss the cod dish in the restaurant called Quinta da Palmeira near the home). Note: driving to the house is a little tricky with a few narrow twists and turn. Do not take a large car there. Our Citroen hatchback did fine.
