About this apartment rental
Life doesn't get much better than this! As you walk through the door to our home, the wall of glass sliders opening onto a large terrace overlooking a beautiful pool and the turquoise Caribbean Sea takes your breath away. Our two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo is updated, bright, open, and airy. The location on the second floor allows for tropical breezes and an amazing view.
The comfortable living room opens into a well-appointed kitchen and dining area. The bedroom in the back has an ensuite bathroom. There are two single beds that can be made into a king if that is more to your liking. The other bedroom has the bathroom directly across the hall. Both bedrooms have room-darkening sliding shutters, ceiling fans, nightstands, warm lighting, and large wooden closets with both rods for hanging clothes and shelves/drawers for folded and other items. The large windows with screens are wonderful for letting in the sunshine and the breeze.
Both bathrooms have a large, walk-in shower, toilet, and sink area with counter space and several wall shelves.
The Casita Blanca property consists of twenty-one units. It is gated, private, and beautifully maintained with tropical plants, trees, and grassy areas. The pool area is gorgeous with comfortable loungers and palapas for shade around the pool deck and on the grassy areas. From there it is about fifty steps to the white, sandy beach and a private, roped-off area with loungers and palapas for guests and owners.
The charming center of town of Puerto Morelos is a ten-minute walk along the beach or the street. If you walk along the beach, there are several beach clubs where you can stop for food and drinks. Puerto Morelos has many wonderful restaurants with all types of cuisine. There is also a large, well-stocked supermarket in town, along with shops, an ice cream stand, pharmacies, and a bookstore. The town square also has a stage and seating for frequent evening entertainment.
There is plenty to do if you get tired of lying by the pool, ocean, or on the terrace hammock. The Mesoamerican Reef directly in front of Casita Blanca is the second-largest reef in the world. Diving and snorkeling tours, yoga on the beach, massages, and bike rentals can be found close by. Tours can also be easily arranged for visits to cenotes and other Riviera Maya adventures.
The property is a well-maintained, small condo complex, with friendly management to assist with any inevitability. Housekeeping services are provided several times a week.
Puerto Morelos is a twenty-five-minute ride from Cancun International Airport. It is located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, but feels far away because of the laid-back, casual, small-town vibe.
Feel free to reach out with questions. We are happy to share this wonderful condo and town with you. We believe that once you stay here, you will not want to leave!

We loved our stay at Casita Blanca. Accommodations worked well for the three of us, owners responded quickly to our questions and they had excellent suggestions for transportation to the airport. We spent much of our time at the beach under a palapa and on the outside porch. Would certainly come back.

My husband and I booked a very last minute trip and we feel lucky to have found this gem! We LOVED being right on the beach with the option of the pool. We spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the incredible skies and on the beach in the loungers. We loved being close enough to town center to walk but far enough from the noise. I like a firmer bed so it was perfect for me. The air conditioning units kept us cool when we needed a break from the heat. One of the best surprises was the cupboard of miscellaneous items including snorkels which we used a lot! We felt safe and secure in the complex, and it was quiet at night. The kitchen had everything we needed and overall we felt very at home there. We would 100% go back! Great communication by hosts and manager was quick and helpful when we needed him! Thanks for the beautiful memories ☀️

My daughter and I spent 6 glorious nights at Margaret' lovely condo in the Casita Blanca Condo Complex.
We've stayed at several condos at this location over the years and it's by far our favorite.
Everything about this place is wonderful. The view, ambience, location, cleanliness and ease to book is just a few of the notables.
Thank you, Margaret, for sharing your lovely home with us!

We had a wonderful stay at Puerto Morelos. The condo was just perfect, the staff members at the condos were very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend to stay at Casa de la Madrugada in Casita Blanca.
I loved it!

We chose this condo for the view it has, very beautiful!
But, there were things that were disappointing which overpowered our delight.
CON'S:
Master bed is hard, feels like your sleeping on the ground with cardboard, sofa is old, basic interior furniture needs to be replaced/updated, walls would be happier with paint colors of Caribbean blue/green colors.
Extra pillows lacked pillow cases, but this was reconciled the next day after texting owners, AC froze up first morning in MB, didn't realize it for a day or two, then it thawed and dripped water all over MB counters and personal belongings, AC in kitchen/living room AC wall switch was wore out, you turn it on and it would start and then stop, took a few times to figure our the actual wall switch is not functioning due to it being 20-30 years old. This was passed on to owners, they put it on their to do list, I would personally replace every wall switch in the condo, they're 20-30 years old, maybe more.
Dug through the condo cabinets looking for extra ice trays, found 1 in back and it had mold and was pretty disgusting, we through it away...
We feel the condo needs a entire interior makeover, and deep cleaning.
PRO'S:
Owners are excellent to text and work with via WhatsApp, they were very attentive to every question we had, before and during our stay.
We do believe they are genuine and honest, they went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and we appreciate that very much, thank you.

This location is a gem. Its close to the center of town, but also far enough away to feel like you are away from it call. Roberto the manager was extremely kind and very helpful if an issued came up. The host provided everything you needed to entertain your family during your stay. The grounds were well kept and its a place you can truly unwind. 10/10. I would highly recommend.

We stayed with our two teenage boys. We were all comfortable and really enjoyed the patio facing the beach in the morning and the close access to the beach. The pool area was also nice and well kept. The town was friendly and the host was very helpful. Thank you.

Really nice 2 bedroom, 2 bath. Nice living room open plan with kitchen, quiet condo environment, super nice place. The private beach area is really nice place to sit back and watch the world happen. It is close to the north end of town which is about a 20 minute walk on a quiet well-lit street or down the beach. Very pleasant experience and we loved it. Would go back here in a heartbeat.

First time you walk into the condo, you turn and look at that view! Sliding doors open the room and you feel like you are on the beach! Needed vacation and this condo provided a great space to do this. Also, the beach bar next door was a fun plus.

Casita Blanca was a perfect place for me, my husband and our 2 teenage kids. The view was incredible from the balcony. We enjoyed getting up each morning to enjoy the sunrise. Gretchen was wonderful to work with. Great communication and gave great advice for different tours. Roberto the manager was very friendly and helpful. The location of the condo was great. We walked into town every day along the beach. We hope to come back in the future. Thank you for everything.

Stayed 9 days and loved all of it. This is our 2nd stay at Casita Blanca but the first at Gretchen and Greg's place. It's a very nice updated condo, as opposed to other we stayed at last year, and it's actually nicer and more updated than any beach condo we've stayed at in our last 7 trips to Mexico in a similar price range. It's also got it's own dedicated high speed wifi, which was reliable and fast compared to any other place we've stayed. The manager, Roberto, was very helpful whenever needed. We loved the view from the balcony, which also allowed us to keep an eye on our kids whether they were at the pool or down on the beach. Puerto Morelos is still a bit of an undiscovered gem, and we love the location here at the condo which is far enough from town that we often had the beach to ourselves, but still just a 15 minute walk to town, or short bike ride (I definitely recommend renting a bike for your entire stay, which are cheap and make for a great way to explore the town and get around). We'll be back again next year!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The unit was clean, pretty, well appointed, and comfortable. The location was perfect for us because we enjoyed the brief (10-12 min.) walk to the plaza area, and we had direct access to the beach from Casita Blanca. Nice beach and pool palapas and lounge chairs were available to renters. Terrific beach, pool, and ocean view from the unit’s porch. Would recommend this to 1-2 couples, or a small family.

This was the perfect place for us to get away from everything for a few days. We enjoyed being far enough away from the main part of town that we felt secluded, but we were close enough to have a short enjoyable walk to eat, shop etc. Check-in and check-out were super easy, and the hosts communicate very well and are super-responsive. The thing we liked most of all was being able to walk out our door, around the pool and down to the beach. We planted ourselves under the same palapa for our entire stay!
The unit itself is very comfortable. We kept the windows/doors open almost all of the time and were cooled by the ocean breeze. However, if it does get too hot, the air conditioning units worked very well at keeping the place cool.
The property has a very easy phone setup for calling a taxi, which we used a couple of times. Taxis are plentiful and inexpensive.
Thanks Gretchen for a great experience! We would definitely stay here again if (when) we return to Puerto Morelos!

After many years of coming to the Riviera Maya, Puerto Morelos has become our special place, and now Casa de la Madrugada, after this first stay, has become our special place to stay. Everything about the condo was as described and the whole Casita Blanca complex was just the right size and well taken care of. We loved the wonderful terrace and watched every sunrise and moonrise during our stay. It was very easy to stay there and we hope to return often in the future.

This condo is perfect in many ways - clear view of beach and sunrise; nice sized balcony with hammock; very clean and well equipped; newly renovated; close enough to town but in a quiet, residential area; friendly and responsive staff. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. We loved walking into town along the beach or quiet streets. Puerto Morelos is such a safe and friendly town with many terrific restaurants and nightly live music, great snorkeling, fresh tortillas, fruit, fish and more!! Gretchen is very responsive and easy to work with. We hope to be back!

My husband and I stayed at Gretchen's very lovely condo the last week of May. We have stayed in Puerto Morelos many times, but this was our first time at Casita Blanca, and we loved it so much we will be returning there in the future. The pool and grounds are perfectly maintained, the staff are all friendly and helpful, and Gretchen's condo has a wonderful straight on view of the beach and ocean from the living room balcony. It was heaven to just sit on the balcony and enjoy the view! The condo was very nicely furnished and had all the extras that anyone would need while vacationing. We especially like all the restaurants in town, and it was an easy walk (either on the road or on the beach) to the town square. There are plenty of places to eat and drink along the way, too. We cannot wait to go back---we missed hitting several spots that looked like fun! Do not miss out on this town or this condo! Gretchen was also very easy to work with.

My wife, seven year old daughter and I spent two wonderful weeks at Gretchen's Casa De La Madrugada condo. The view was spectacular, the condominium was spotless and there was a wonderful assortment of appliances/utensils to satisfy every need. I would, without hesitation, recommend Casita Blanca and especially Casa De La Madrugada for your next trip to Quintana Roo, Mexico. We sincerely look forward to another trip to this special place.

Our family had a wonderful vacation! This unit has wonderful views of the beach and is position just north of town. The unit has all the amenities you need and is very tidy. We loved our stay and location. My only advice to all Puerto Morelos visitors is bring Pesos. The ATM's in town were out of order often and many restaurants and shops are cash only. This was are only inconvenience during our trip. Otherwise Casita Blanca and Puerto Morelos is a little slice of paradise.

Arriving from the smog of Beijing, Puerto Morelos was literally a breath of fresh air! This condo was absolutely delightful and Gretchen was truly easy and fantastic to work with despite our differences of time zones! Between this condo and another, we housed the extended family of 9 of us--from gramma to the kids. It was superb. The listing does a good job in telling it like it is... a cozy, lovely, and wonderful spot on the beach. We would love to be back!

My wife and I recently returned from a week in Puerto Morelos, staying at this rental. The whole experience was very positive. The apartment was neat and clean, the beachfront location featured marvelous sun rises and refreshing afternoon and evening breezes. Tropical landscaping added to the experience as did the easy walk to the town center - about 15 minutes by the beach or by the road. Travel to nearby tourist traps, e.g. Playa Carmen, Cancun , Tulum, and Cozumel was cheap and easy by "Collectivo" vans or bus, or there is always the option of taking a taxi. Restaurants were plentiful in Puerto Morelos but it was not overrun by T-shirt shops and the like. Snorkeling on the shallow reef a couple of hundred yards offshore was excellent, containing many coral and fish varieties. Boats with guides and equipment will get your there at a cost of $30 per person for 2 hours of snorkeling We found nothing, really, to complain about. Others might feel it is too quiet, for example lacking in crowds, commercial entertainments or U.S. TV access. If you like classical music, as we do, bring your own CD's. The apartment includes lots of recent DVD's for evening entertainments and there are a sufficient number of beachfront restaurants or bars where one can get a good mixed drink for a mere $5.
