Ideal for two families traveling together, this classic A-frame ski chalet boasts plenty of character plus modern updates. Tucked into a secluded setting on 2.5 quiet acres, complete with a babbling brook, guests will enjoy both seclusion and convenience, with three ski resorts nearby. Sugarbush at Mt. Ellen is less than a mile away; Sugarbush at Lincoln Peak is four miles down the road; and Mad River Glen ski area is around five miles away.
And, with a location just off the main road to Sugarbush at Mt. Ellen, it's easy to catch the free Mad Bus that circulates between the two mountains and throughout some of the Mad River Valley. Warm-weather visitors will be equally spoiled for choice, with abundant hiking and mountain biking trails nearby, and guests year-round will be within just a few minutes’ drive of shops, restaurants, and other amenities.
At the home itself, outdoor highlights include a large deck, ideal for summertime coffee or cocktails, along with a private patio downstairs, facing the woods. Inside, the main level features an open, airy space with high ceilings and comfortable furnishings. A loft overlooks the main area. The full, well-equipped kitchen makes meal prep a breeze, and there’s room for everyone around the rustic-chic dining table. Downstairs you'll find another full kitchen (no dishwasher), so it's easy to cook for the whole gang.
After a day of outdoor adventures, snuggle up in front of the wood-burning fireplace upstairs while the kids stream the latest release on the TV downstairs in the second family room. Check up on the day's events with the free WiFi or unplug entirely with one of several board games around the dining table. At the day's end, four pristine bedrooms provide comfort for a good night's rest. The serene escape you've been dreaming of awaits - all that’s left to do is book.
This main unit can be rented for smaller parties in the following subunits: Mt. Ellen Minikin (unit A) and Mt. Ellen Ski Chalet (unit B).
