The details and updating in the lodge was amazing. We loved it so much that we stayed for another night, something we do not often choose to do. There were so many events open to the kids from a movie night, bingo, s’mores and a wagon ride. Beautiful location, the property is situated with a great view of the lake. The decorations also added a lot of warmth to the common area and great photo opportunities (even a large gingerbread house). This stay was much better than we anticipated and we will certainly return.

Had a splendid stay at Lodge at Schroon Lake! I was up that way for work but I plan on taking my kids back! Super clean, love the cider and cookies available upon check in, and a very family friendly enviornment!

The Lodge is located in a stunning area overlooking the lake. Only 2 negative mentions from this guest. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained. It was just very small. Had to go into the bathroom and stand by the side of the toilet to close the door. The only other thing I would mention (and this was my mistake) was that as a traveler I am used to the free breakfast. There is a charge for breakfast which I inadvertently assumed was free. We chose not to partake but I will tell you it looked AMAZING. Staff was incredible. Beautiful lodge space. Easy parking.

Second time staying here and love it so much! The property is just so fun, clean and scenic. An easy walk to town and short drive to hiking. Perfect long weekend.

Went there with the family during the fall and it was beautiful staying here. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool, game room, s’mores at the campfire.

I am not a complainer but. I signed up for a regular room on Hotels.com but we were given a cabin at check-in.Very rustic to say the least. o cups/glasses, no table to write on, no ice nearby, Very rustic to say the least. Found out they had 3 weddings at that time but some explanation at check-in is necessary. The grounds were great, staff fine. Very dissapoointed.w/ reservations.

Very nice place to stay, was very comfortable with one queen, 1 bunk beds. Small refrigerator, coffee with Keurigs. No microwave, it was a small efficiency. Gym and pool area is nice, music on site at the Brown Swan on weekends. Quant little town down the road with great food Pitkins Restaurant.

We will return. It's a great family vacation spot that has a lot of amenities. It's clean refurbished and affordable. There are some kinks to be ironed out. But overall good stay.

Great place to stay in Schroon Lake. Easy walk I to town and a world away when you're at the lodge. The restaurant, especially the vegetarian food, was excellent.

The grounds are beautifully kept with flowers well maintained. The entrance to the main lodge is open, well lit and welcoming. The room was updated and clean. You must close your room door hard to lock.
The breakfast service at the Brown Swan was horrible. We waited extremely long to order then receive our food. The coffee was cold and our eggs were lukewarm. I was looking forward to the egg white frittata to be only minimally satisfied. I would not recommend dining here.
Check out is simple-drop your key at the front desk and leave.

Property was great…loved the amenities. Mini golf was especially fun. The pool was nice, the hot tub was closed when we wanted to go in…very disappointing! We booked to have that after a long hike. The pool and hot tub are also only open from 8am to 8pm. We were never back in time to enjoy the pool. Dinner at 6:30 brings you back at 8. Our room was a 3rd floor walk up. Fine for my family but we saw people struggling with carrying their luggage up. The room had a terribly strong odor that lasted for over 24hrs. I would have asked for a different room but my family was not that bothered by it. Beds were comfy, balcony was cute, bathtub was dated, moldy caulking all around and the tub had been painted white and was chipping a lot. All in all there were some positives and negatives. I wouldn’t pay a lot to stay here but for the price we payed it was fine.

Everything was fine about the lodge BUT it was very loud at night, kids playing on the piano at 11:45 pm with little supervision and no regard for other guests. Tried to call the front desk but no answer!

We loved the nice quiet atmosphere for our family to enjoy. It was especially nice having the property amenities when the weather was less than ideal.

Great find. On beautiful Lake. Schroon. Grounds are really nice, and the on site restaurant is excellent. The bar in the lodge was also excellent and the bartender was terrific. Sat outside at a fire pit and made a bunch of new acquaintances. Fun place to stay.

This is truly a lakeside resort experience. So much to do on the property and within walking distance of the quaint town.

The marina experience was exceptional. The restaurant experience was good, but they ran out of chicken wings and so, I’m hesitant to say we got good experience. The check-in/check-out experience was bad. They charged us a higher rate than what I reserved in Expedia. There is no phone in the room, no microwave, no safe and no elevator. The parking for main building is all the way in the back of the property. The pickleball court is shared with basketball court and the pool is only available until 8pm. There is not enough firepit available for guests to do the smores.

Brown swan was not great but we loved everything else. Skip the fancy restaurant.

The property is beautiful and well maintained, but the rooms are uncomfortable and very noisy. We were up half the night with doors slamming and kids screaming in the halls. Also, tiny bathroom with no shelf in shower to place soap or shampoo. We asked for two foam pillows instead of feather due to allergies, but we were never accommodated. There was a power outage during our stay that lasted from early evening into the next morning. We asked for a credit for one night’s stay so we could find a comfortable place to stay for the night miles away from the outage, but they wouldn’t accommodate us saying it was “an act of god”. They gave us two glow sticks to use for light instead. They could have at least given us credit for their “resort fee” since none of the services were available, but refused. Very disappointed in our stay. Such a beautiful place should treat their customers better than this.

The property is new and clean... Unfortunately that's the only positive thing about the resort.
Wherever we went, we were dealing with restrictions and unwillingness to meet our needs. My 13 and a half year old couldn't kayak, or paddleboard without guardian, because you need to be 14. My 16 year old was kicked out of jacuzzi at the pool because spa is only for 18 . We were so degraded by the unfriendly and indifferent staff, that we stayed in the room the whole time. Why not! We had a "beautiful view" of the parking lot behind the resort.

This is a family type resport. The outside is beautifully laid out. It is set on top of a hill overlooking Schroon Lake. The resorts marina is a nice area to hang out and enjoy lunch. Unfortunately they only have two boats for rent. When escorting kids from the game room, we had to walk through the bar which one of the TVs was playinh music videos with what I would call soft pirn. Utterly inappropriate. The West Lodge where we staying was a disappointment. While the living quarters were nice the stink in the room and throughout the building was at times unbearable. Not sure if it was a form of mold or from the restaurant next door. The staff was so unpleasant. It felt lime i was burdening them with my questions about the resort. Only the cook was a very pleasant young lady that had no issue with assiting us.

The majority of the staff are international students who work on work-and-travel visa. They do a phenomenal job, keep the rooms and bath rooms spotless clean. Kudos to all of them. Too many to list. You guys are the best. I hope your hard work is appreciated by the hotel administration!!
There are restaurants in the town which are all within walking distance. (hint: you can skip the hotel restaurant)
If you are a vegetarian I strongly recommend Frontier Town Gateway at exit 29. Fantastic! A unique place in many ways
The administration keeps the pool water at 80 (apparently) yet the pool is practically empty all day (very puzzling) I couldn't convince my kids to go back to pool after a trial (apparently fuel is very expensive. How about solar energy? ring ring)
The pool tables were the nicest amenity available. It literally saved the trip from being a total disaster for kids. We didn't know about the pool tables and were pleasantly surprised.
Kayaking on the lake was just amazing. The view is simply breath taking. We got the same view from our balcony.
The bar area is simply pleasant to hang out at any time of the day/night. Take your fav book with you and grab a cup of coffee (free!) and enjoy both. Or play games! Or watch TV. Thank you for that! Much appreciated.

My wife and I and our 11 year-old twins stayed for 1 night last month in the West Lodge. The front desk folks were very pleasant and checked us in quickly. The West Lodge allows pets, which I didn't catch when making the reservation. We're dog lovers so no worries there. However, upon entering the room there was a very strong urine odor. We attempted to get another room but they were sold out. A very apologetic maintenance person was sent up promptly but really couldn't remediate the problem. It was a tough night. We had dinner at the Brown Swan that evening and breakfast the next morning as well. The food was absolutely delicious. However, the wait staff, while very friendly (as were all lodge employees we encountered), seemed undertrained or new. It took an eternity to get our drinks (a vodka soda and prosecco-nothing complicated) and the food took even longer. The restaurant was only about half full which made the delays even more perplexing. The long delays nearly ruined an otherwise very tasty meal. I think perhaps they are having some staffing/growing pains? The front desk gave us a $50 discount for the urine smell issue which we were grateful for, but all in all, we would probably not return perhaps unless we could get one of the chalets which have amazing views.
2.0
Cheap construction meant that the children running up and down the halls could be heard very clearly in the room. Pillows were horrible, the room smelled of mildew, and the Brown Swam restaurant was horribly overpriced for the quality and accuracy of the food.
Don't waste your money.
