The beautiful expanse of Long Sands Beach is an easy stroll down the road from this sunny duplex in York. Surfer or sunbather, beachcomber or lobster enthusiast, you'll have the very best of Southern Maine at your fingertips.
This two-story home is half of a duplex property, one that sits only three blocks up Beacon Street from Long Sands Beach. It's the perfect setting for taking it easy or for getting out and exploring, with York's Wild Kingdom, the Nubble Lighthouse, and the center of town all within two miles. Head out for scenic drives up and down Route 1, with Ogunquit (seven miles), Kittery (nine miles), Wells (12 miles), and Kennebunkport (18 miles) close by.
Take your pick of the upper and lower decks for your first cup of coffee each morning, and return to these lovely outdoor spaces with coffee and dessert at sunset. The interior is every bit as inviting, thanks to an open floor plan, high ceilings, and generous windows that let in the coastal sunlight.
Enjoy a well-equipped kitchen for all your culinary needs, both a breakfast bar and a dining room table to seat your guests, and a cozy den with a smart TV for after-dinner movies. There's complimentary WiFi to help you keep track of the tides and surf, and three serene bedrooms.

Before we stayed we asked a few questions about the property and learned that the listing is quite inaccurate and the company that manages it has absolutely no idea what is in the house. When we got there and had multiple problems (no hot water, the house had an intense kitty litter smell, the air conditioning barely worked and ALL the fans in the house were broken, the outdoor shower didn’t work, there was no hose to rinse any of our beach things off so sand got everywhere, even if there was a hose, the connection to the house was broken, the outside garbage barrels were overflowing and there were no notes or binder or email describing when to get the garbage out to the road), the management company was awful. We decided to leave early and asked for a partial refund multiple times. Wouldn’t you know it? They never got back to us any of the times we asked. Never again will we book a property managed by Vacasa. It was a challenging and not very enjoyable vacation thanks to staying at this property.

I expect rental photos to show a place in its best light, but this home was a big letdown. The layout was unchanged, but it felt like we walked into a “before” shot of a house that had seen better days.
The entry rug was filthy, and the door blinds were moldy. For a home sleeping 6-8, the tiny dining table was useless; we couldn’t all eat together. The patio set on the deck was bigger but rusted and caused cuts. The outdoor shower didn’t work at all. The kitchen was unappealing with a rusty oven and missing cabinet doors.
The first-floor powder room was outdated, and the cartoon of a naked woman was an awkward surprise for my young son. All the rugs were dirty and needed deep cleaning. The central AC was broken, so the master bedroom had a jerry-rigged window unit vented out a taped-up balcony door, letting bugs in all night. The AC was plugged into the bathroom, so we couldn’t close that door.
On the positive side, the master and upstairs baths were updated, but we were given minimal towels for a week-long stay with no access to a washer/dryer. Linens were provided, except for the sleep sofa—something not mentioned in the listing. property mgr did kindly bring them the next day.
The fan in the bunk room was broken and dirty. The “living room” was crammed into a small, dingy space that was uncomfortable.
For the rate and fees, we expected more⬤

The space and location themselves are great. It was clean with updated bathrooms but could definitely use some TLC
3.0
The upstairs bathrooms have been remodeled. The kitchen is well-stocked and large. The location is 2-3 blocks from the beach and the area is quiet and residential.

Great location, updated bathrooms on second floor, potential is there for it to be a great place ....but it is not there yet.
