Enjoy private access to the calm waters of Picture Lake at this bright, charming home on the lakeshore in Pocasset. You'll have a prime location for exploring Cape Cod and a waterfront haven back at home - one with beautiful views, great outdoor space, and a pair of paddleboards to take out each morning.
This home sits directly on the banks of freshwater Picture Lake (also known as Flax Pond), in one of Pocasset's quaint, quiet neighborhoods. There's direct lake access from the backyard, making it easy to paddleboard (with life jackets provided), swim in the warm shallow water, or fish for bass, perch, and sunfish. The lake's two sandy beaches are an easy walk, offering a wonderful place to escape the summer crowds.
This spot just over the Bourne bridge also makes a scenic and convenient home base for all things Cape Cod. You need only drive a few miles to find beloved beaches, charming villages, local restaurants, miniature golf, ice cream shops, and the ferry to Martha's Vineyard.
No matter how you spend your days, you can cap each one by rinsing off in the outdoor shower, sharing a sunset meal on the back deck, and swapping stories around the firepit as night moves in. The cooler months are every bit as enjoyable, with games, books, puzzles, and a TV (with a Blu-ray player and streaming capability) on hand to accompany views of migratory birds traveling past the lake.
Other special features of the house include a well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a light-filled dining nook, a private washer/dryer, and three gorgeous bedrooms - including one delightfully outfitted for kids.

Great location with short drive to beaches and tourist areas. Comfortable, clean and functional accommodations. Lake was perfect for kids and adults. Great stay!

We were 2 couples staying at Calm Waters. The house was a perfect size for us. I thought it was super cute inside- very beachy and bright. Comfy blankets in every room, plenty of towels, both bathroom and beach, a lot of kitchen equipment etc. I would definitely bring extra toilet paper, paper towels, and garbage bags. You are only provided with 1 or 2 extra of each and that definitely doesn't last long with a group. The dock was perfect to hang out on all day- I brought 2 beach chairs down there, popped a paddle board in the water, and it was a super peaceful area to relax. You get plenty of sun out there until the afternoon. The Adirondack chairs on the deck were great to hang out in as well. We didn't use the outdoor shower- it was full of spider webs and the bugs were out in full force, so we stayed out of it. We used the charcoal grill once- heads up, there's no grill equipment and we didn't know until we got it going so we had to improvise. Bring a metal spatula and tongs with you if you plan to grill. One of the guys had picked up a grate scrubber thing, so we were able to at least clean it. The grill also was moldy and had to be cleaned out when we opened it up.
Our only other issues were having to clean up dead bugs all over the house on the floor as soon as we walked in and having to clean off all the outdoor furniture as it was covered with dirt, bird droppings, and spider webs. Vacasa was very responsive about this- but having to spend an hour and a half cleaning as soon as I got there wasn't ideal, especially for what we paid.
Overall, it was the perfect spot- 5-10 minutes from a lot of restaurants, super close to the Coast Guard base, which was what we needed, and a very quiet and relaxing spot right on the water.
We would definitely recommend and stay here again.

We were in town visiting loved ones and had a great location to the base. Check in was a breeze. The kiddos loved the dock and beautiful lake. We enjoyed the aesthetic options and the ability to have snacks and coffee at home before heading out. Beds were comfortable and we had no complaints! We will absolutely book again when coming back to visit.

Very pleased with the property! Super cute and clean. Only downfall was the refrigerator didnt work, however they did provide a small one in its place, but it wasnt big enough to store a lot. Loved being next to the water and having the outside shower to rinse off. Will definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at Calm Waters - the home was beautiful and clean; spacious rooms for our family of 5 and lovely private access to the pond through the backyard. Puzzles and books were a nice touch. Quiet neighborhood and accessible to great restaurants and sites in Cape Cod. We loved our stay.
