My husband and I booked 2 nights here as apart of our Japan honeymoon. Only bad part was we didn’t want to leave!! The property, the amenities, the staff, everything was exceptional. The private onsen on our balcony had a beautiful view of the mountains, yet so much privacy. We were able to dine in a private room for same of our meals, and that made it feel extra special. The food was innovative yet traditional Japanese, it was truly interesting and enjoyable. The guest lounge had amazing selections of beverages ranging from nespresso drinks to Japanese whiskeys, and fun little snacks! It rained the 2nd day we were there but honestly, it didn’t matter at all as we were able to truly enjoy the luxurious property and all it had to offer.

Loved the rooms. Loved lounge.
Property was quite complicated to get around.
Food so so. However Teppenyaki was exceptional. Our chef was great. Sorry to have forgotten his name.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had at a resort or hotel. The facilities are in immaculate condition. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinners were world class. If I had known how wonderful our stay would be I would have booked several more nights. Im very grateful for a wonderful stay.

We had such a lovely stay. Thank you so much! 😊

The architecture and design of the property was very simple and clean and adapted well to its natural surroundings. The room with its bath in the balcony and the attention to details was amazing.
The food at the restaurant was a bit bland and could be better. The service was great but the staff need a bit more experience in telling its story of the food and dishes. The times were also a bit inflexible despite being relatively empty. Nevertheless, it was a good time.
The guest lounge was also very good but closed way too early - especially if you wanted to spend some time after dinner.
The open-air vista bath was absolutely fantastic, especially at night. It had all the necessary amenities and was luxurious. I went for both nights, but found it strange that a lady worker kept visiting the men's bath to clean and refresh.
Overall, a great experience with a luxury feel.

Quite simply the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The service was impeccable and everything was spotlessly clean. This felt like a holiday within a holiday. My only regret is that we could not stay there longer.

Service at the hotel was amazing. Very traditional Japanese hotel. Comfortable beds and bedding great shower. We used taxi to get in and out and spend 1 night only. Our dinner at the Western restaurant ( grill ) was 10 stars. So amazing - expertise , food , service - all
Worth it. We had western breakfast. We used bath on the balcony and it was spectacular. I can't recommend this hotel high enough. We also wore kimono all over and to dinner and that too was fun !

We had a lovely room with a private onsen. There's nothing quite like waking early and walking from your bed to a warm bath on a terrace with a stunning view. Easy walk to the cable car and ropeway to enjoy views of Mt Fuji, Lake Ashinoko and the steaming caldera.

Nice but way overpriced and full of kids who stay for free - hotel should not allow kids

This is a beautiful, newish property.
Pros:
- Comfortable stylish lounge for all guests with free snacks and drinks (including a wide selection of wine, beer, spirits, and soft drinks) all day
- Beautiful lobby and common areas
- Professional and attentive staff
- Located 5 minutes walk from the Gora train station so very convenient
Cons:
- The price was very high
- The food was sub par in general and compared to other ryokans in Hakone (the western breakfast was much better than the Japanese dinner)
- The style and view from the public onsen was not great despite facing the mountains (e.g. you could see a large factory, and the view of the trees was blocked when you were sitting in the onsen)
Overall I would choose another ryoken next time I visit Hakone

Hotel stay was a great experience! Staff were friendly and helpful and courteous. I would not include the meals as they were not authentic Japanese food and could be better quality as an experience.
Hotel was very nice and very enjoyable stay.

Spent 2 nights here with 2 friends on a girls’ trip after several days in Tokyo. It was superb! Room was spacious, stylish, and well-equipped. We made good use of the private osana with a beautiful Mountain View. Western breakfast and fixed price Teppanyaki dinner were both delicious. We especially enjoyed and took advantage of the variety of private bath options. Great guest lounge with food and beverage, as well super relaxing stay all around!!

The Breakfast was excellent, dinner however has room to improve! Other then that, this is the best Onsen hotel we have ever stayed at! Great location, the architecture is absolution beautiful! The staff are super nice and helpful. The gentlemen who help us check in is super nice, this name is K.K. and he will go above and beyond to help us get information to our sight see location.

The Hotel is awesome, the room is really nice, just that is an extremely complicated Hotel, for the price you don't get the service, you get a nice room, but everything is annoying.
For breakfast, they dictate the schedule, and the occidental menu is always sold out, so you must have Japanese cuiisine at 8 am, with some might find nice... but still there should be the option for timing and preference between oriental o occidental food.
Also for dinner, this is a Hotel who tells you at what time you will have your dinner, you don't have to much of timing options, neither choices.
For spa don't even mention, impossible to book, you must book your spa session few weeks in advance.
Onsen is great, people are extremely nice, but just needs some customer friendly timing and service.
I dont know if I would recommend this place, for 600-700 usd per night, there are much nicer and more customer orientate places.

This hotel has wonderful amenities and a courteous staff. But the staff's ability to speak English is greatly challenged, making it difficult for my wife and I to communicate. When there was a problem, it took way too long to resolve. Their accounting systems were also slow, and we were incorrectly charged for a dinner that took15 minutes to resolve, putting at risk the connection to our reserved train 45 minutes from the hotel.

The resort is beautifully situated with views of the mountains and valleys. Modern in style with everything you would expect from a traditional Japanese onsen. The restaurants were amazing, both offering delicious fine dining experiences. Finally, the staff were amazingly polite and accomodating.
We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were only disappointee by the fact that we couldn't stay longer.
