Beautiful guesthouse right near the seafront and with lovely views. The guest house is stunningly decked out and the team working there are amazing.
Nothing. Wanted to stay longer

OMG how can I describe the pleasure we had in no42 !
This was an incredible stay !
There is a pantry !! Free access all day long, for sparkling water, fresh baked cakes … and more !
Everything was perfect !

Absolutely everything! The decor is beautiful, stylish and relaxing. All the staff are exceptional and couldn’t do enough to make our stay memorable. Special mention to Joe the night porter and nothing was too much trouble. He went above and beyond even though he was busy with lots of guests returning from the same concert.
The vibe here is perfect. We will definitely be returning.
The extras offered were also exceptional. Complementary sweets, crisps, cakes, ice-cream, fruit and soft drinks. We felt truly spoiled.
The bed was super comfortable.
The style was perfect. But I have to go back to the staff. They were amazing and made a gorgeous hotel feel like home.
Nothing, we cannot fault it.
4.5
Well furnished bijou boutique hotel very well placed overlooking the sea.
Bed too soft, lack of handle bar in shower cubicle and extremely long wait for cooked food at breakfast time.

The hotel was really good, the room was great.
Margate on a Monday most things were closed

The interior design and attention to detail.
Lack of choice in the mini bar. Everything else was exceptional.

You couldn’t get a better location in Margate for a hotel, when you walk in to reception it feels like you’re on the continent. From start to finish hotel staff were excellent, warm and friendly without being fussy. The room was beautiful, beach vibes and comfortable, there an effortless style, a real experience you don’t often find. There was a pantry with free snacks and pastries on the floor above which was a fun touch. We had a balcony overlooking the sea and it was a real joy to chill out there and enjoy the view and the beach life.
The staff booked us a spot for sunset drinks on the roof bar which is well worth the visit for the epic view and delicious cocktails. We also ate at the hotel restaurant The Pearly Cow which has a balcony section if the weather is good. The food was very high quality and cooked to perfection, and the waiter was charming, down to earth and couldn’t help you enough. These guys really know what they’re doing. You get city service with small town charm here and as I said there’s a continental air. They’ve created a little world in this hotel and they seem to love what they do.
I travel a fair bit and over the last few years, due to personal circumstances, we’ve had to holiday mostly in the UK and I have to say this is one of the best hotels I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. A real surprise and a total treat in an arty upcoming town. Don’t think, just book.
Another vegetarian option on the menu would have been good that said what we had was a wonderful cheese soufflé I’d highly recommend so this is a very minor nitpick.

The decor was lovely, the bed was extremely comfortable. Beautiful views and appreciated the upgrade.
The bath had a leak.
The door to the adjoining room was unlocked and the family next door came in by mistake!

We loved the hotel! The location was perfect, the interior and comfort of the hotel was amazing and the staff were great and genuinely cared!
That we didn’t stay longer!

The room was just lovely, only comment was we could hear the air conditioning unit or a heating unit on the roof all night. Location was superb, and the guest pantry was fun an a novel feature which was appreciated. We would love to come back in the summer to take advantage of the gorgeous terrace & views from the roof.
As the breakfast was expensive (in addition) we went out for breakfast to a local traditional cafe. For half the price we got a great breakfast as we explored the town.

Beautiful hotel with a fantastic restaurant and lovely staff. Excellent touches like record player in the room and and vinyl to choose from in the hallway, really nice products, and individual hand drawn art on the walls. Gorgeous furniture and views
Would have been great to be able to have brunch at the hotel, but there are loads of great places nearby

I booked this one night stay as a gift for some young friends for their wedding night. The hotel went above and beyond to make this the most special experience with some wonderful additional touches and caring for their every need. Apparently it was a fabulous time which they will remember as a wonderful end to their wedding day. Everything from the accommodation to the breakfast was apparently first class. Highly recommend!

It was so beautiful, the staff were amazing, the location was great. Felt like a Soho house by the sea. So many amazing little touches and the balcony with the sea view was worth upgrading for. The breakfast was gorgeous, couldn’t fault it from start to finish!

The guest house was perfect for a quick weekend break to Margate! Our room was exceptionally comfortable, spacious and with great special touches (the record player + vinyl selection!) The pantry was an added bonus with complimentary snacks, soft drinks and ice cream!
Location wise the hotel is brilliantly situated in Margate for easy access to the beach front and on a road full of fab independent shops, restaurants and bars.
I can imagine in the Summer the rooftop bar and Pearly Cow views would be even better.
Nothing - it was perfect!

Perfect location. Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Super quality bedroom linen. Lovely thoughtful touches in the room and of course The Pantry!! Staff were delightful. This is an absolute gem for anyone exploring Margate looking for unpretentious luxury and pampering at great value too. PS the bed is like being wrapped up in a fluffy cloud all night!
No complaints at all

The room was beautifully decorated and furnished with the stand out feature a plaster cast shell chandelier. The view from the balcony was westwards down the beach, probably great for summer sunsets. The facilities matched expectations for a boutique hotel - dressing gown, slippers, the availability of pastries, drinks and pastries from the Pantry backed up by a friendly , professional and very helpful team. The bar was buzzing when we visited and the meal in the Pearly Cow was superb.
Parking is not easy - old town Margate issue.

So comfortable and beautifully dressed
Only problem I have is no hanging space for longer clothes, dresses etc. I had to hang my coat in the bathroom

Immaculately clean / beautifully appointed, good size room / attentive, friendly, helpful staff / great restaurant - decor, view & food quality. Very good value.
Having a hard time trying to think of something…

All staff were very friendly and wanted to help. Breakfast on first day was absolutely fine though on second day some basics were missing. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and everything was very good. The roof top bar was fun and great for watching the sunset. A great place for a couple of days break. Margate itself still needs a lot of revamping but with No 42 leading the way the future is promising.

The interiors are really beautiful. The staff are amazing and so friendly. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The location is perfect. Some rooms overlook the sea - ask for one. They have a lovely coffee shop on the street level, it’s great.
The rooms facing the street side can be a little noisy.

Still under nice impression of staying at this place. From the beginning we feel home after warm welcome from lady at reception. The room was unbelievable: all details are perfect, especially the artwork and a record player. We were impressed by view and cozy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, we’ve met helpful security as well. The property is very clean and has been made with a high level of taste. Design of room is exceptional!!!
I cannot wait to come back. Thank you for the expiration and this place where I could recharge myself!

The room decoration, the bed that was huge and comfy, the location and the hotel atmosphere. And the spa.
The scrambled eggs, but I'm really picky on the way they're cooked. I'll take something else next time.

The staff were amazing! Special shout out to Kevin, who was so helpful. The location is gorgeous, right on the seafront. The hotel offers lots of small touches and services which make it really special- for example they pick up your luggage from you at the station so you can explore Margate straight away.

Thought it was a great hotel with great staff in a great location.
Having a load of down and outs and street drinkers congregating outside the hotel in the evening.
