Lovely, unexpected place

Very pleasant stay, great to live the station a bit. Super clean.

Because it's remote, there's zero services in the surroundings and no drinks available in the premisses.

Disappointing

The lady who did our check-in was very friendly.

The building and the room were freezing cold. We slept with all of our clothes on, but we still didn't manage to sleep because of the cold. Heating is insufficient. Breakfast was served late (9 AM) and wasn't fresh. Instant coffee, defrosted bread that was still cold etc. Also, the place is more like a hostel and not a guesthouse. You have to do you own dishes etc. We booked two nights but decided to go home after the first night. A big disappointment after a long drive.

Very good

We chose this place due to a very interesting location and its history. The main space was nicely decorated, kitchen fully equipped, staff welcoming and helpful. Good breakfast.

Bathroom was moldy. It was very hot in the room (we stayed during August). The church bell nearby was banging loudly the whole night.

Best stay of Portugal trip.

Amazing 1926? building and stay at a now inactive building that is part of the closed Train Station next door. It looks like the Train Station but the ground floor has a large room with a fireplace that was used as a cafeteria eating area. No trains run on the railroad tracks and the location is very quiet day or night. The old kitchen where you make your own breakfast with owner-supplied bread, eggs, etc. has a fantastic original cast-iron range stove and huge marble sink. The entire ground floor is original. The second floor has upgraded bedrooms and bathrooms. Great exterior like Train Station with original Portuguese hand painted blue/white tiles. Hotel-recommended, nearby restaurants are excellent. The man and his sister who manage the hotel are friendly and very helpful. They are great hosts.

None, this hotel is one of the highlights of our two week Portugal visit.

Beautiful reinvention of the train station space respecting its original elements.

Missing A/C. Room has small fan in the but that is definitely not enough for Alentejo summer temperatures. Breakfast dynamics seem clever and adequate to space ideal but simply not functional starting at 9am does not help …

A little gem of the Alentejo region

This place is literally a hidden gem! The station is beautiful and it’s been renewed very carefully leaving all its original features. The room was clean and comfy. We stayed just for a night but it would be better to have more time to explore the area that is very beautiful and full of little photogenic villages.

Just some things to improve for the future. The lady who welcomed us, forgot to give us some blankets, so it was a little cold at night. She forgot also to give us the wifi password and we couldn’t find it written anywhere. Not sure if it’s always like this, but after 8/9 pm there’s literally no one soul around and nothing to do/ no bar or restaurants nearby. It’s better to find a place in advance to eat for dinner.

Exceptional

A beautiful location, one of the nicest I've stayed in and definitely unique. Breakfast was lovely with nice touches such as local beers. Great advice and tips for things to do and places to eat available either in person or in your room.

Very unique place to stay. Highly recommeneded if you visit the area. A pure work of art.

Bed was too short and noisy kitchen downstairs.

This place is just fantastic.

The location is perfect, a quiet street in a quiet town. A spacious but cozy common hall, terrace and garden to share with other travellers, thoughtful staff and owners. Stylish interior and exterior, breakfast of your choice with many options.

Convenient access is possible only by car, I believe. A tiny room, but it was ok due to great common spaces.

Very special building

Location and the place is very beautiful. I would recommend to stay there just because of the beauty of the place

The bed room of the apartment was not so good. Very basic. Also the breakfast is rather basic (packaged cheese, coffee pads cost extra etc)

Great experience

My friends and I had a very special experience in Train Spot Guesthouse. The location and the style were outstanding. The breakfast was good and all the facilities were accessible. I did enjoy sitting in the living room, listening to the music and getting warm with the fireplace. I highly recommend Train Spot Guesthouse.

The heating in the bathroom would be better.
