Absolutely amazing, villa is impeccable, location is perfect, the view is stunning and the people who take care of this place are true friends! Whenever we come back in Cortona, we’ll definitely come say hi! We would’ve stayed another month for sure. You can trust this place, you won’t regret it…

This is a beautiful property in an ideal location in Cortona. There are many beautiful touches within the home and it was very comfortable and warm. The hosts have clearly gone to trouble to make their guests feel comfortable and we absolutely loved our time there.

Our first experience regarding our stay was when Sabrina (the owner) picked us up at the train station! (Who does that?) She is warm and kind and there were so many thoughtful things she did during our one month stay. We loved everything about the property, especially all of the tools in the kitchen to cook, which we did everyday. It is a bit of a steep walk up to town, but it gave us the opportunity to get some steps in. When it was sadly time to leave, Matteo graciously drove us to the train station and actually walked us to the other side of the platform to show us which train. Amazing experience, wonderfully kind family. Can't wait for next year!

Fantastic experience, Mateo and his family were very accommodating. A great space with plenty of room for 2 or 4. Daily breakfasts where lovely and the view spectacular. The pictures do not justify this apartment. A 7-10 minute walk uphill to the center of Cortona. Thank you family Paci.

Beautiful view & cute accompdations. Had to pay extra for air condioning (only place that charged for this) Host was helpful with a ride to bus station. We opted ti give her 4 Euro to compensate her. Relaxing place to stay & fairly close to oldctown Cortona. The walk there was mostly uphill & in the heat, it proved quite challenging. Dudnt appear to be any nearby public transport

Beautiful views, clean apartment. Exactly like the description! About a 7 minute walk into town. Big hill into town, but we went every night. Hosts were kind and welcoming. They picked us up from the train station at arrival and then took us back to the train station at the end of our visit. Would highly recommend and will stay again sometime!

Just returned from a 2+ weeks of vacation in Italy and our time spent in Cortona was wonderful. Mateo was such a great host helping us with directions and suggestions. We booked a cooking class with him and his mom Sabrina and it was the highlight of our trip. Can't wait to try and make Pici. I'm sure it won't be as good as Sabrina's. I highly recommend staying here if ever in this area and can't wait to return one day. You guys are great.

Loved this house. Close to town but still secluded and quiet. Great hosts and great time.

Glorious setting just below Cortona
What a wonderful, peaceful stay we had at Apartamente Luna in Cortona. The apartment is comfortable and well-equipped. Matteo met us down below Cortona, in Camucia, to escort us to the property. He was gracious and welcoming, and very generous with his time during our stay. We walked into Cortona numerous times, and also enjoyed strolling/hiking through the family’s olive and fruit tree orchards. We felt like we were living in a movie — the setting is gorgeous! We would stay again and if you have the chance, you should too!

A gem in Cortona! Our first visit to Appartamento Luna, but we certainly hope to return. We were accompanied by our daughter and her partner, and all agreed that this is a marvellous place to stay. The view from the terrace just outside our apartment of the Valdichiana and Lake Trasimeno, with the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in the foreground, was superb and it was a perfect place for al fresco meals. Booking is through an agency who were good to deal with, and we were welcomed with such warm hospitality by the family who own Luna. Our apartment on the ground floor was very comfortable and well equipped - and always cool despite the Tuscan summer! We could walk up the old roman road (a bit of a steep climb!) to Cortona and explore the Tuscan countryside and hillside towns. Just wish we could have stayed longer!

This a wonderful place to explore Tuscany and Umbria. Day trips to Florence, Siena, Assisi, Perugia and the Tuscan hill towns are all easy, and the walk into Cortona is short, although a bit steep. The owner's family couldn't have been more gracious and helpful--with homemade cakes, a drive to show us the local supermarket, restaurant arrangements, and great advice and information about the area. The apartment was spacious for the three of us, charming, and well equipped with modern appliances and kitchenware. It is accessed down a short but narrow road with tight turns (not for huge vehicles or uneasy drivers), but once there, the apartment is ideal for exploring a charming town and the beautiful, historically and culturally rich surrounding region.

We loved the place! It was a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with a large kitchen & drawing room in the ground floor of a nice house situated on a hill right under the ancient and beautiful town of Cortona and above a beautiful valley and a magnificent church. The hosts were most friendly and helpful, and the place and the whole area around the house are peerless. We would certainly come again.

I absolutely loved Matteo and his beautiful home! His family is so kind and welcoming, the apartment is a 10 minute walk to town, clean, safe, and BEAUTIFUL! Would absolutely come back this is incredible apartment.

Perfect place to stay when visiting Cortona. A steep walk into the town but lovely to enjoy the fantastic view from the outside seating area. Matteo and Sabrina and Luna were welcoming and gracious hosts, the apartment is well equipped and charming. Matteo booked us a table at his cousin's restaurant which turned out to be one of the best in Cortona. Would definitely stay here again.

If you and your family are planning a trip to Tuscany, you will have the trip of a life time by staying at Casa Luna! My husband and I, along with our two teenaged kids, stayed here for 4 nights. Every aspect of the stay was a delight from getting to know this lovely family, enjoying a private cooking class, short walks to the town of Cortona, the incredible views from the yard- all magical. We will be back to stay and look forward to keeping in touch with our new friends!

What a wonderful experience my sister, mom and I had at Apartment Luna. We were truly sad to leave. The entire family was so kind and warm in addition to doing so many generous things for us, starting with picking us up from the train station and carrying our luggage. In the apartment waiting for us were a home-baked crostata and olive oil from their trees. Sabrina gave us rides (insisted!) until we got our rental car, and even drove us around to see some local sites. DEFINITELY don't miss her amazing breakfast, which you can enjoy along with the amazing view. We loved chatting and laughing with everyone, including Nonna Pia and little pup Luna. Regarding the location, it's a lovely combination of being in a house with a yard and a view but also right at the entrance to Cortona. It really is just a short walk up the hill to the center of town, although if you are 81 (like my mom) you may find it too steep to navigate. But Sabrina was there to drive us right into the center of things (where we couldn't go with our rental car) and picked us up from dinner RIGHT OUTSIDE the restaurant. I really have never met such kind people in all my travels. The house itself is also lovely and well-equipped, but the highlight was this wonderful family. GRAZIE MILLE a Sabrina, Jeanluca, Matteo, Leonardo, Pia e Luna!

I can't say enough good things about our stay at Appartamento Luna. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with warmth and hospitality and felt like a part of the family. There were homemade treats and the family's own supply of olive oil from their small farm. We were lucky enough to have Sabrina fix us breakfast on three occasions and it was absolutely spectacular, not just in flavor but in presentation as well (I'm still dreaming about her homemade yogurt). She never left out a single detail and went above and beyond. In addition, Sabrina hosted a Tuscan cooking class for us that was beyond our wildest dreams. I would highly recommend signing up for that. Such an incredible meal and experience. We'll be making pici pasta for years to come, I hope. Sabrina's son Matteo was so generous with his time to help us communicate throughout our stay since our Italian is almost nonexistent. He was always patient with us and helped extensively with both the cooking class and to make arrangements for a private tasting at a local winery. He was also happy to recommend local restaurants and surrounding towns for day trips. The walk into town was very manageable and the little extra hill climb up to the city walls was worth it to have our car parked right there on site (cars are only allowed in the city center by special permit, so other AirBnBs inside the city walls will have you carting your luggage from public parking lots). If we find ourselves in Cortona again (and I hope we will), we'll definitely choose Appartamento Luna and recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Tuscan experience

I can not say enough wonderful things about this place and this host family ! Apartment Luna is so lovely with gorgeous stone and brick on the inside and a charming outside . The beds are comfortable and bathrooms nice . The kitchen is open and spacious and has everything needed . Most of all is the incredible view which really gives the Tuscany experience . The location feels secluded and allows the authentic experience yet has a path way right there to walk to the center of cortona . Although it is small there we truly enjoyed the views the shops and the food. It felt like a very full experience . Although the husband and wife , Sabrina and Jeanluca do not speak a lot of English and we unfortunately don’t speak much Italian we still enjoyed the communication with them and their son Matteo speaks English who communicated via text any time needed . They as a family went above and beyond picking us up from the train and bringing us back when we were leaving ( there was a small fee for this service but they did much more then just drive us bringing two cars to fit us and luggage helping to carry all of our things all the way to the platform when we were leaving and taking my boyfriend to the grocery store to buy some items on the way in ) There was an absolutely delicious home made cake waiting for us upon arrival as just an added touch . As well as tomatoes from their farm gifted to us . We were treated like family or friends and they did more than required as hosts just really wonderful people . This was my first trip with our baby who turned 5 months while there and I will admit i was not as prepared as normally am when traveling with every detail worked out and they were willing to accommodate anything that came up. They even drove us to dinner when we couldn’t walk because it was raining right up to the door ! We opted in for the breakfast one day that the agency told us was an option and it was incredible ! So much fresh and home made food offered and she even adjusted for My mother and I dietary restrictions! We ate outside while enjoying the view and it was a incredible part of our stay . I highly recommend doing the breakfast during your stay! There is also an option for a cooking class which we did not do because of time restrictions but from meeting them and eatting their food I can tell guarantee you it is a wonderful experience as well and we would do it next time if came again. They also sell their own olive oil which is delicious ! They ...

Love, love, loved this stay and this location!! The family is warm, welcoming and delightful; the apartment is comfortable and well provisioned; and the view is one of the most spectacular that we have ever seen!! The property is on the edge of Cortona, surrounded by olive and fruit trees and gardens, overlooking the valley all the way to Lake Trasimeno. It's a short walk into the center of Cortona, but also an easy drive to go out for day trips. Counting the days until we can stay here again...!!

This was an amazing place to stay from so many perspectives. The location is great, you are just outside of the old town but can walk in in 5 minutes. This allows for a great view, a garden setting for breakfast and end of day but also the convenience of town and restaurants without having to drive. The hospitality was amazing, the family was extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of little touches that made the stay great, felt like a genuine Italian experience in the countryside. Cortona as a town is in a great location to do lots of really interesting day trips. Would definitely recommend this place. Breakfasts were available for a bit extra, would highly recommend, all homemade food which was delicious.

We stayed 5 nights in Luna apartment. The location and the views are spectacular! Sabrina and Matteo were very hospitable and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and welcomed. The apartment is spacious and provides all of the amenities for a comfortable stay. The walk to town is steep but a short 7 minute walk. Sabrina treated us like family and we love her. If we visit Cortona in the future we will stay here again!

Apartment Luna is perfectly situated for a stay in Cortona. Within walking distance (although very steep in the beginning ) of the town but with its own terrace and seating area - perfect for breakfast - with stunning views. It accommodated our family of 5 adults and 1 baby quite comfortably and we would thoroughly recommend it.

Apartmento Luna is magical! Hosts, Matteo and his mom Sabrina, met my husband and I, along with our 22 month old twins at the train station like we were long lost family! This set the tone for the warm, considerate and loving hosting we experienced for the rest of the week we spent in the Apartment. Sabrina instantly unearthed a bag of trucks and spades for our twin boys, along with two little chairs so they could sit with us taking in the beauty of the magnificent views below the house. The apartment is the ground floor unit of the family home which has all the amenities you will need for a blissful stay (dishwasher, oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, washing machine and iron). It has a farmstyle kitchen which is open to the Lounge/TV room. There is a bathroom with shower, a twin room (which is wonderfully dark and cool, perfect for little ones to nap in) and the main bedroom with a firm comfortable bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower. The house is nestled on a terrace between olive groves and fruit trees just below Cortona town. As previous reviews mention, it is rather a steep climb up into town. We managed, rather slowly, with a twin pram and two small kids. Cortona is a charming town. We enjoyed the public park and the public swimming pool on some of the hot days. Highlights were Sabrina's delicious breakfasts, the cooking class with Matteo and Sabrina (who graciously accommodated us with a shorter course so we could fit the class in while the the boys napped) andMatteo's dad, Gianluca, let the boys ride on his tractor and even let them pet his newly purchased chickens! Much to everyone's delight! We loved our time spent with Matteo and his family and were very sad to leave but will definitely return.

Privacy in a Tuscan Hill town
Very comfortable. Nice that each room had its own AC. Wonderful to sit at the table outside and look out over Tuscany. One bed very firm, the other on the soft side. Not a lot of natural light inside. Well equipped kitchen. Very interesting setting….. they had to meet us a few KM away and show us the way in on the narrow road. Property was just outside the town proper and a steep walk into town but we loved the town so much that still we went up every evening. You do come home in the dark down a steep dirt road. Marco and his mother were helpful and sweet. Had some wifi problems but solved it eventually by rebooting the router. Used the washer with no problem. Would stay again.

Spectacular views!!
I can't say enough about this property! The hosts were so kind and helpful. The breakfast Sabrina prepared each morning were delicious with many of the items homemade. Her son Mateo was very helpful in organizing taxis to and from the train station and just full of information about the town. Luna the dog greeted us each day with a wagging tail in search of head scratches. She was adorable!!
The view of the valley was awesome. It was just beautiful at night with all the lights. The house itself was surrounded with flowers and a lovely garden. You truly felt as though you were a part of the family and not just a guest. I would definitely stay here again!!

Our family travelled to tuscany and spent 10 days in the glorious surroundings of apartment luna. From the our first meeting with Matteo and his family they were all so very helpful and obliging. Apartment luna is the perfect base for a short or long term stay in this beautiful part of tuscany and is located close to Cortona or Camucia. It is easily accessible. The accommodation was ideally suited to all our needs and our two young children enjoyed the freedom of the area. Gianluca, Sabrina, Matteo and Leonardo were so helpful in every way throughout our holiday and We highly recommend apartment luna.
