About this house rental
This pretty stone terrace house, has enjoyed a life as a historic ceramics workshop where the artisan lived whilst creating Cortona’s beloved pottery. This stunning exclusive house includes its own Roman private entrance courtyard for outside dining in the sun or shade, and it also boasts its own roof top terrace with views of Cortona City and the valley below. The house has been sensitively renovated and beautifully painted / furnished by local craftsmen, whilst enjoying the mod cons of modern facilities. It sits on a quiet one way street, 350m from Piazza della Repubblica in Cortona centre, with private parking outside the house. 3 double bedrooms (2 of which can be made into twins) with wardrobes, drawers and high beamed ceilings, plus 2 full bathrooms, one with a Victoria and Albert stand alone bath, both with bidets and beamed high ceilings. A large sitting room on ground floor, with huge sofa / sofa bed, TV, Pellet fireplace, coffee table, office desk and drawers with a luminous view from the window next to it. Downstairs utility and laundry room has brand new Bosch washer & dryers and space to storage unwanted large suitcases! The separate upstairs lounge with doors to an open terrace, has a 3 seater comfy sofa and 2 large armchairs looking out onto the terrace and sunset views.
As well as the valley views and the easy stroll into town, with life, cafe’s, shops and exhibitions, wine tasting and history on offer throughout this buzzing little town, we love the windows and shutters of the house, the cool of the authentic travertine floors in the kitchen and walking barefoot on the wooden floors throughout the bedrooms and lounges. Softly lit rooms with ceiling frescos and high wooden beams makes this a calm, traditional home from home. The kitchens and lounge both have double doors opening onto the Courtyard, which has dining for 6 under cover in the shade or in full sun depending on your choice and the season you stay. Pick fresh herbs from our terracotta home grown pots. the 1969 Vespa is an extra. Do talk to us if you feel you’d like to rent electric bikes or a set of Vespas to find places off the beaten tracks or right into the buzzing town centre! We’d also be happy to deliver and serve you at our villa, a local home made breakfast. We can help find you the perfect restaurant, a regional wine tasting experience, cookery class at home, historic tour or shopping experience for your group.
