About this house rental
Our 5 bathroom, 3.5 bathroom residence sits on five acres of beautiful land with mountain views of Hermosa Cliffs. You'll enjoy privacy and seclusion here while being only 10 minutes (6 miles) from Historic Downtown Durango and 20 minutes (20 miles) north to Purgatory Ski Resort.
Our home is perfect for multiple families as it has various living spaces, a large kitchen, bar and large driveway for plenty of parking for vehicles and trailers (and there is one additional parking spot in the garage). The home features amazing outdoor space with expansive decks with sweeping mountain views, several sitting areas, gas fire table and bbq gas grill. The beautiful 5 acres provides endless places to roam and includes a pond fed by a seasonal creek (April - November) that runs thru the property. The game room includes a combo pool table / ping pong table, TV and a walk out patio. Both bedrooms on the main level have AC units while the other bedrooms are on the ground floor and stay plenty cool since its a walk out basement. The historic Durango/Silverton tourist train passes by the house across Highway 550 2- 6 times per day depending on the season.
The home is less then a 5 minute drive to the newly renovated Durango Hot Springs, Dalton Ranch Golf Club as well PJs Market. For the cycling enthusiast, it’s located on Country Road 203, one of the best cycling routes in Durango.

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.
Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

My kids, grandkids, and I LOVED our trip to Durango! The house was great and the location and view were incredible! It’s close to everything; Durango is literally less than 10 minutes and Purgatory was about 20. There was plenty of room for our gang of 13 and one dog. The rental company was VERY responsive when we had any questions or concerns, which was much appreciated. It was hot in Durango this past week (very unusual...I used to live there and don’t remember it being so hot), but there were fans available in each room and we were gone during the day anyway so were able to escape most of the heat. It was pleasant inside at night. I wish the grass right around the house had been mown; it was pretty long, but the field by the pond was great for playing kickball and wiffle ball. The fire pit on the deck was great for making s’mores every night, too! The house was very clean and had most everything we needed (we cooked most of our meals there). One recommendation would be to get new bath towels and hand towels but other than that, no complaints! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Our large family had a fantastic time at this property. The outdoor space was especially enjoyed by the grandkids. The home was very spacious and the game room permitted lots of ping pong competitions and enjoyed by all. It was a perfect set up for our family!

The is a great house with plenty of sleeping space and very nice bathrooms. Convenient location between Durango and Purgatory with a nice grocery / liquor store just up the road. Also, our pets appreciated the fenced area between the house and the road, which has very nice grass. You can see the scenic trains roll north every morning, and then back south in the afternoon. A couple of negatives: First, there is quite a lot of road noise from 550 which never really lets up during waking hours. Second, this house has AC only in the upstairs bedrooms, so it can get pretty warm inside on summer days.

The house is spacious & lovely with luscious views of the mountains and trees surrounding the pond. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you might need. Having a second fridge in the downstairs was nice. We weren’t so far from Durango proper that we couldn’t easily dine out if we wanted. The bathrooms were large, clean and had plenty of towels. The beds were comfortable (always a concern) and had nice linens. Our trip was the first week of June and it was really warm for so early so thank goodness there were plenty of fans. The downstairs was easily 10 degrees cooler. The kids enjoyed playing video games downstairs. We enjoyed the outside spaces as well, roasting s’mores on more than one night. All that said, there’s a few things that could have been better: the listing says the 2 up bedrooms have AC but they are room units with no instructions how to set them up. I googled the brand but they aren’t designed for crank windows. Also, it would have been nice to have a heads up for workmen coming to the house. We had a repairman show up to fix a board on the deck, which, without doubt needed repairing. The whole deck is weather worn and in need of maintenance. The fenced yard in front of the house badly needed mowing. 2 days later a mowing crew shows up, again with no notice, and proceeded to sling mud, gravel and grass on our Jeep while mowing! And no apology for doing so. Road noise is a bit of an issue but the views make up for it. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Could not have asked for a better location and property to spend Christmas with our adult children and their families. The home was immaculately clean, spacious, and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the split floor design featuring family areas on both levels. This allowed the more energetic crowd to play pool or ping pong downstairs while the less energetic crowd (i.e. me) to nap on the sofa before a roaring fire upstairs. We made extensive use of the kitchen and found everything we needed to prepare and serve meals for a group of nine. Just an overall outstanding accomodation!

This house was cozy with beautiful views from the big windows. Fireplaces were stocked with wood, so we could enjoy them right away. The kitchen had plenty of items to cook with. The beds were sooo comfy with the memory foam toppers. I appreciated the room with the bunk beds as that worked perfect for my kids that weren’t quite old enough to sleep on their own in a new place. I liked the open design for gathering with everyone but also the option of separation of upstairs and downstairs. The house overall was gorgeous, clean, spacious, and had what we needed to enjoy our vacation!

We did a getaway Thanksgiving in Durango this year and the property was generally good for our group. Seems like it’s just recently been converted to a vacation rental as it lacks some of the staples and basics (cleaning supplies, etc) that we’ve typically seen.
We had some trouble regulating the temperature between floors with the frigid cold outside, but that could just be simple user error. The location is close to town, offers great views of the canyon and the train every morning. The property is large and the fenced yard for the pups was welcome. The bonus room in the basement was a hit with the kids for sure!
Overall we really enjoyed our stay.. a few kinks to work out but solid!

Fun property, large grassy area not good for games but good for dogs. Clean and comfortable! Close to the hot springs/Spa.

Property was beautiful. Had an amazing time and would definitely stay again. Would only suggest having some basic items like larger bottles of hand soap, basic spices for cooking, and disinfecting sprays to clean up after meals. Other than that, would definitely stay again!
