The Lazy Duck Inn Yellowstone is a comfortable inn nestled on the western side of Yellowstone National Park. The new owners of this West Yellowstone classic are slowly updating this property with all the comforts of home. This 15 room cozy inn offers quaint, affordable and quiet rooms right in the center of West Yellowstone Montana, Yellowstone's most popular gateway community. No matter the season we are here to host a perfect Yellowstone vacation! Countless memories await you in Montana's outdoors paradise. Whether its fly fishing, hiking, snowmobile or ATV riding The Lazy Duck Inn is the perfect home base for exploring the greater Yellowstone ecosystem.

Lazy Duck Inn Room #26: has everything you need for a comfortable stay. This single king room has a large smart TV with basic satellite package and a full bath making this unit perfect for relaxing after a long day. A communal grill with plenty of outdoor seating makes for a great hangout space to enjoy a beautiful Montana evening.

Please note:

This room does not have AC. We encourage our guests of the Lazy Duck Inn to open the windows at night to enjoy the cool evening temperatures and close those windows during the day (including curtains/blinds) to keep cooler air inside the room. For your safety, please only open windows when you are present.

Yellowstone National Park Closures

Yellowstone National Park is a seasonal attraction, and it is not open year-round. The majority of the park is closed from mid March to mid-April to prepare for the Summer Season. The summer season runs from mid-April to the end of October. It is then closed from November 1st until mid-December. The park reopens mid-December for the winter over snow season. The winter season requires a guided snowmobile or snow coach tour to be able to enter the park. Please plan your visit accordingly.

Pros- Spacious room, updated room, nice amenities with a goody basket at check in, expansive tv menu Cons- No AC and the location of our room was on second floor facing the sunset. It was HOT! And the only way to cool it down was to keep windows and blinds open, which then takes away privacy as everyone walking by can see and hear into our room. Then, in the dead of night, bc the blinds needed to be open, the accent lights hanging outside the room then illuminated the entire place. At several points we had to open our front door to enhance the breezeway in attempts to cool the room down. We were uncomfortably hot for half of the night before it naturally cooled down. A fan is provided but it provides minimal relief when it’s circulating hot air. Check in time seems late, we were exhausted and ready to rest in the room before 4. Staying in a lower level room or even the adjacent rooms that aren’t hit with direct sunlight at sunset would have prob been much cooler.

It went well enough. The check in process was a bit unclear, and I had to call to get the proper code. Adjacent room noise was sometimes disturbing...thin walls.
