About this house rental
BOOK NOW FOR YOUR HOLIDAY GETAWAY AT THE LAKE! Discover this extraordinary light-filled retreat perched above the serene shores of Lake Waukewan! Winner of the 2024 NH Home Magazine Design Award for Green Design, this exceptional home was crafted by award-winning Boston architects and recently featured in Forbes magazine.
Situated on a wooded lot with natural landscaping, this stunning lakefront home is thoughtfully designed for those who want to relax and unwind in a quiet setting but is just 4 miles from charming downtown Meredith and Lake Winnipesaukee. The property offers swimming, boating, canoeing/kayaking, and during the winter enjoy skating, skiing and snowmobiling. Its southwest location offers gorgeous sunrise views over the water, perfect for morning coffee on the dock. Hear the resident loons call at night and see bald eagles’ nest along the shores. The location has easy access to nearby hiking in the White Mountains and ski areas including Gunstock, Loon, Waterville Valley.
From the car park with EV charging, enter the house via a suspended walkway. The house features clean, modern design with every window framing a unique view of the natural landscape. Enjoy cooking in the well-equipped high-end cook’s kitchen, gather around the breathtaking waterfall countertop breakfast bar, relax in the comfortable living area, and linger at the dining table. The open concept first floor has ready access to the deck where you can gather with friends and family at the large dining table after cooking dinner on the gas grill. A screened porch is the perfect place for an afternoon nap or evening cocktail.
Upstairs, choose from three bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a forest view. The primary suite indulges you with spectacular 8’ windows and an ensuite featuring a shower encased in marble walls. Two other bedrooms feature oversized windows, with one hosting a generous built-in desk for remote work. The bedrooms share a sleek hall bath with shower. On the lower level find two sets of twin bunks snuggled against a striking lake mural. Unwind with TV entertainment, engage in foosball battles, pull a game or puzzle from the game closet, or step onto the back deck to commune with nature. A third full bath with a shower and laundry room enhances everyone’s stay.
A second lower-level deck offers more lounging space, an inviting outdoor shower, and access to a forest path down the wooded slope to the lake. Cross the historic Winnipesaukee Railroad which runs in late September and October for scenic foliage tours; the rest of the year enjoy a lovely walking path and Nordic ski route. Emerging from the forest, discover 150 feet of private waterfront with a patio and firepit, a wood dining deck, and a private dock for a boat up to 20’ long. Enter the water from the dock to swim out to the floating raft; SUP, canoe, or kayak to one of the nearby islands; relax in the hammock swaying along the water’s edge; or gather around the firepit in the evening. The public boat launch is a short 5-minute drive from the house.
The path to the waterfront crosses natural terrain and descends an exterior staircase so those with limited mobility may be more comfortable at other properties.

What a unique and wonderful home to spend our week-long family summer vacation. My husband and I stayed with our 3 kids and had the best time. The house was meticulously maintained and thoughtfully designed. We had many meals on the outdoor patio. The lower level was great for movie night and sleepovers in bunk beds. We loved using the paddle boards and kayak out on the lake too!
