About this house rental

The new owners of this lovely home have thought of every attention to detail while readying it for vacationers. The ground floor gives you a bunk room, family room with TV and sleep sofa and laundry area. Up on the main floor, you'll find the kitchen/living/dining areas as well as a full bath and bedroom. Access to the deck and both screen porches is from this floor. Up on the top floor is the loft with murphy bed and a bedroom with it's own private full bath. The two screen porches offer plenty of space for gathering or slipping away by yourself for some quiet solitude. The screen porch on the back of the house even boasts comfy seating and a TV for those late night movie-thons with a big bowl of popcorn. A fire table will add charm and take the chill off as you share your funny stories or ghost tales in the evening. There are split A/C units in the main floor living area, main floor bedroom and top floor bedroom. The ground level stays quite cool, being partially below-grade. The TVs are smart TVs for guests to use their own streaming accounts. Imagine waking up and having your breakfast on the screen porch then meandering over to the beach for a morning of fun before coming back to grill some burgers and dogs to fuel up for your afternoon adventures. A wheeled beach cart, beach chairs and toys are included and the walk to the beach is flat with no hill to climb. Are you a coffee aficionado? This property even has a espresso/cappuccino maker! PLEASE NOTE: As of 2022, the Suissevale Association no longer allows tenant use of the association beach on Saturdays. Instead, the property owner will provide a beach pass to the nearby State’s Landing Beach for guest use. Parking is available at State’s Landing Beach. Guests are able to enjoy the Suissevale Association beach on all other days during their stay except Saturday.
If you would like to rent linens, the fee for this property is $120 for sheets and $12 per person for towels. If you would like to have the beds made for you, the fee is $8 per bed.

Overall the property was a good place to stay and easy walking distance to the beach. However, our first night was not the best, as improperly stored trash cans were pummeled by a bear on our first night. Upon arrival on 7/27 at 4 pm the trash cans were strapped to a pole. We were in the house for two hours before going to dinner and we had not used the trash cans. Upon our return to the property @ 9:15 pm. Two trash cans had been disturbed & one tipped over. Trash/garbage was on the ground which included raw chicken & beef. We cleaned up what we could. Next day 7/28 we noticed even more trash way out in the woods. We called the mgmt. team who came quickly, but after we had picked up the trash. We ended up never using the trash cans. We took the trash over to my father's house. The trash cans really need to be put in a secured shed. We saw a small black bear near the unsecured trash bins under the deck (but not used). We can see a large trail of trash in the woods, which may not be part of the property land. Second, there was an awful stench in the pantry - right of the fridge. It was likely from a bog of something rotten that my son found on the top shelf. It smelled of rotten meat. The cleaner came out , but it did not go away. We were unable to use the pantry. The clearner, and my father, also cleaned the trash bins which as I said were filled with raw meat and chicken. Finally, the front door lock stopped working. Apparently the battery died.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great spot with a 5 minute walk to the lake. Home was clean and up to date with all the items needed to enjoy the week. Only item to note is make sure you secure the trash cans before bed as the bears do like to see what you had. They are nice to leave mess contained to little piles for easy cleanup.
