Other local attractions include: Lanark Loch, which adjoins Lanark Golf Course, Castlebank Park, and the Scottish Equestrian Hotel with pony-trekking activities and riding holidays. There is also a vibrant high street with a selection of independent and high street shops as well as a variety of restaurants and cafés. The town provides good access to the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, which can be reached in around an hour’s drive.
