The dock gets all day sunlight, until around 7:30. Kayaked around, cooked food and drank, that was all the wife and i wanted, but we got a very comfort home to stay in and that's a big plus, would love to rent it again next year.

I can't remember a more relaxing week. If you can pull yourself away from the view, there are great hikes in the area, and we loved the waterside dining at the Tapoco Tavern so much that we went back for dinner. The kitchen at this property did not succumb to the common rental problem of too many cast offs from the owner's kitchen crowding the cabinets, with plenty of room to store groceries and well organized kitchen tools. Beds are comfy, hot water nearly instant and plentiful, water pressure excellent. Figure out how to work the high tech thermostat, and realize that it needs to be reset every 24 hours, or it goes back to it's settings. The owners have left the manual for you.
We took the kayaks for a 6 hour paddle out to the dam. They are sit on top kayaks, so consider bringing an old towel to put over your legs if you are looking to do long floats. Could go fishing at a moments notice, when the lake starts boiling with fish, and be sure to bring a float so you can simply relax in the water. Internet is somewhat spotty, given the rural location, and we had issues with our Verizon cell service. I would not want to be working from here, not that I would be disciplined enough to do so. Spent most of our "indoor" time on the screened in porch. We will be back, but probably with our own kayaks this time, so that we can drive to other put ins and explore more of the lake. Thank you so much for sharing this stunning property with us!!!

We checked in Thursday and stayed through Sunday. The place is very nice. The screened porch was relaxing in the heat of the day.
The dock allowed for me to keep my boat close. The setting is peaceful. We will definitely want to stay here again.

Simple lake life, older home but renovated with everything you need to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Pristine water and well
kept dock. We swam and ventured out in the kayaks. Read and ate meals on the screened in porch and watched the clouds dance on the water. Great house for a small group. Definitely contact Jared at Smoky Mountain Kayak Fishing. Went on a sunset fishing cruise and it was gorgeous. Don’t miss Roger at Pineapple Whips!
