Not the greatest stay. Was told by email upgrade would be $25 per night. Got charged $30.
Was told i have a daily credit for $25 to spend at the restaurant and store. They did not honor this.
Was told room would have view of lake. Impossible viewing angle.
Yesterday after a day out in chicago, came back to room to the door open.

Very noisy rooms and I didn’t get lake view room as I booked, checking in experience was poor. I won’t come back to this hotel!

The room was clean. But all elevators broke down late night on December 3, after asking the front desk for help and waiting for nearly 30 minutes with no updates, I had to climb 31 floors to my room so I can get some sleep.

This was our 2nd visit to this hotel, it's right in the heart of the loop next to the river walk. This trip I reserved two junior suites the rooms were spacious my only complaint was the bathroom. Very small counter space and the water pressure in the shower was not the best. The staff both at the front desk and parking area are incredibly friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a hotel that is clean, updated and has bars and restaurants onsite I higly recommend this hotel.

My family stayed here at the Hyatt Regency Chicago over Labor Day weekend. Their check-in line took 30 minutes to go through for non-gold club members. We paid extra for a "city-view" and received a view of the building next to us..
Upon checking into our room, we discovered that the bathroom was not cleaned from the last customer. We called the front desk and housekeeping came and cleaned it pretty quickly. They left an apology card under our door.
The drains in both showers of our rooms would not drain so everyone had to wait for it to drain between showers or else they had to stand in idle water. The beds were 6/10, not the most comfortable bed they have slept on in Chicago.. only 1 of our 2 beds had a thick comforter, with no extra stored anywhere. It was really odd why they would have 1 bed with a thicker comforter than the other bed.
Overall we were pretty disappointed with our stay at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The location is actually a little inconvenient. We have found better hotels for this price and with a better overall experience. We will not be staying with the Hyatt brand again.

My recent stay at the Hyatt Regency Chicago was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm and attentive service that set the tone for my entire visit. The hotel’s location is unbeatable—right in the heart of downtown Chicago, with easy access to the city’s top attractions like Millennium Park, the Magnificent Mile, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
The room was spacious, modern, and impeccably clean, with a stunning view of the Chicago River. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the little touches like the plush robes and high-quality toiletries. The free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which made it easy to stay connected during my stay.
The amenities were top-notch as well. The fitness center was well-equipped and had plenty of space, and I loved grabbing a coffee at the on-site Starbucks before heading out for the day. The hotel’s restaurants offered a great variety of delicious food—I particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the American Craft Kitchen & Bar.
What truly set this hotel apart, though, was the staff. Every interaction I had with the team was positive—they were always eager to help and went out of their way to ensure I had a perfect stay. Whether it was providing recommendations for local dining or assisting with transportation, the service was impeccable.
In summary, the Hyatt Regency Chicago exceeded all of my expectations.

A very large business hotel that is near the shopping district. Nothing fancy, but we did have a view of the river and the breakfast was good options.
