It seemed as if the floors in my room was not leveled, I literally had to kill 4 ladybug-type insects flying in my room, so I called the front desk and reported what I was experiencing with the flying bugs and the front desk said they send someone to investigate, but they never came. Also it took nearly 45 minutes for the Valet to get my car. They claimed the front desk was very busy and didn’t let the Valet know about retrieving my vehicle. I was very disappointed with my stay. I thought my experience staying downtown Chicago (my hometown) would of been better.

The room I had was on the 9th floor and huge and comfortable. Everyone worked well.
The hotel was just a bit tired. Bits of picture frames falling apart, a good but old shower, decor needs a bit of a refurb. It was fine for my needs though so would go back if the price was reasonable.

I arrived a bit early. They didn't allow me to check in early, although it was confirmed the previous guest had left. I asked a kind favor to prioritize cleaning my room first but it was not entertained. I asked to switch to another room that is ready and has been cleaned but my request was rejected. No effort was made whatsoever to help guests except the easy response of saying a sharp "NO" with a stuck-up face. Finally passed the check-in time, 3 pm, but my room was still not ready. I told them straight back, "Before 3 pm you were strict with your check-in timing policy, now after 3 pm, I am being strict regarding my rights".
The staff at the counter, Samantha was rude to me from the beginning. I requested to speak to the manager, but she rejected my request saying the Front Desk Manager, Damazo refused to see me. Then I made a call and sent an email to the General Manager, Octavio but I was ignored.
The overall service at the hotel was really bad. They covered up for each other so that any report a customer made will not reach to the top management of Best Western. Very unprofessional. Bad customer service. I would recommend this hotel at all. Just horrible,

A basic hotel room. The bed was a little too soft and the pillows could have been better. Conveniently located by Roosevelt CTA station and multiple bus stops. Museum Campus nearby. The area seemed sketchy after 9 pm. Location is the main positive of this hotel.

We were given great service. They had said they could keep our bags at the desk until check in but instead had our room ready early. Kept our bags after checkout which nade life easier our last day in town. Great location - we walked almost everywhere.

I guess as usual you get what you pay for. The location is excellent near Grant Park and bus connections. But the hotel is pretty old and worn and when it is colder weather, cold air leaks in via windows and air condition. But the room is decently clean, and the bed was impeccable so for a few days stay it will suffice.

The hotel is in a good location right across from Grant Park within walking distance to the museums there and Soldier Field. There are some excellent restaurants nearby and a Trader Joe's. But, the hotel allows panhandlers to hang right out front, near the front door. The Hilton Garden and Homewood Suites next door do not have this issue.
The check-in experience was good, but that is where the service stopped. Our room had a broken bathroom door (the panel was coming off the door and would catch on the door jam if the door was fully closed.) I let the Front Desk know and they didn't even apologize. The bathroom vanity was dinged up.
There are no amenities such as breakfast, small convenience store, etc or even water bottles in the room. They do have valet parking which is convenient, but the system is inefficient. The front desk personnel also staff valet.
It took nearly 40 minutes to retrieve our car from the valet. The front desk person had to operate the front desk, retrieve luggage from the luggage storage area and get the valet cars. I was told valet was the last priority. For $52 a night, I would expect better service.
If given a choice, I would stay next door at one of the Hilton properties. Sadly, those were booked so I decided to give this one a try.

I read several negative reviews on the property. We found it quite adequate and really good in a few areas. Yes, some of the floors are not level. Yes, some of the furniture is older and has character. Yes, the elevators, hallways, room, and especially the bathroom are small. In New York City all these things add up to 'Vintage Charm'. The place was clean, staff for the most part very helpful. Location was really good. Close to many nice eating places AND walking distance to Soldier Field. 2 blocks from the 'L'. BUT! They had 2 coffee urns in the lobby and for 4 days we were there, THERE WASN'T A DROP OF COFFEE IN THEM. C'mon management, that's an easy one.

AC didn’t work very well, walls were paper thin so could hear our neighbors every move. Toilet leaking and room was outdated.

Super close to the conference I was attending so the hotel made sense. However, the AC kept shutting off. The pillows did not offer any neck support. Bring your own! Front desk were amazing people!

The hotel itself was average. Somewhat worn and out of date, but serviceable. Location was excellent, including the bakery on the ground floor. But the music college across the street was very noisy in the evening. New drummers practicing their stuff loudly, new guitarists going for volume, etc. Would pick a different hotel next time we visit.

Comfortable bed, but street noise was quite bad, people were shouting in the street till 2 am, and car horns were frequent. Bathroom didn't have a working extractor fan, and there was an strange smell in the bathroom. Otherwise the room was clean and the area was great.
