Clean, comfortable and spacious room—we had a junior suite. Nice amenities and loved the gas fireplace. The pool and hot tub area were nice, though not very large.
In general the decor is showing its age, but is well maintained.

Loved the fireplace and the size of the room. Several comfortable places to sit, along with a big desk, dresser, frig, and many extras--a safe, iron, separate kitchen area, just so much. Loved the large walk-in shower. Luxurious drapes. The only thing I didn't care for were the thick pillows, as they give me neck aches. The cost of breakfast was exorbitant. We ate elsewhere. The lobby was lovely with the wood fire going. Staff were very polite and helpful. I would recommend this place.

On the 2nd night of a 4 day stay the A/C broke and I had to move to another room which was an inconvenience
of packing and unpacking. At the end of the stay I asked for a discount for that one night and instead was offered 2 free drinks even though I was alone and leaving with no way of using the drinks. A discount would have been more appropriate.

Overall great hotel. Beds were very comfortable and loved opening the window for cool air at night. Loved the little pot for boiling water.

My wife and I had a great time at Royal Canadian Lodge. The staff was very attentive and professional with any questions we had. The concierge was also very helpful with us planning different days around the area. We had a junior suite and it had plenty of room to move around and lounge. The windows opened letting you breathe in the cool morning air while getting ready for your day. Our only complaint was security. We were getting ready one morning to go to Lake Louise, and well you have to be up super early. We had our music playing quietly on our phones as we aren’t loud people in general and are also respectful of other people. Long story short the security guard bangs on our door multiple times making more noise than our music. Not knowing what was going on we called down to front desk to check if this guy was legit before opening door. Evidently they do nightly rounds, but front desk said there have been no complaints from any guest so they have no idea why he knocked. He was really pushy and asked where we were going and why we were going so early, very intrusive. Just to double check when we got back to the hotel later that evening, my wife turned up the music and I stood outside the door, the ONLY way I could hear the music from outside the room was with my ear to the door, and that’s with it turned to max on phone. That would be our only complaint. Everything else was flawless and perfect with everything else..

This hotel was awesome. It was very walkable to downtown Banff, which was just a wonderful city. Our suite was homey and comfortable with a cozy fireplace. The pool, hot tub area was very unique. Staff was friendly.

We had a great stay here. Very close to downtown Banff and we found it easy to walk to most of the places we wanted to see. Also close to main transportation hub for Lake Louise, Lake Minnewanka, Banff Springs Hotel and Gondola etc. The only thing was the pool and fitness centre only open at 10 am, a bit late for me, but probably fine for most people who would rather swim/work out in the evening (both are open until 11 pm).

Definitely a 5 Star stay! Would recommend.

Our family stayed for two nights, and the experience was wonderful. The hotel is in a convenient location, just a few minutes’ walk from Banff downtown. The atmosphere was peaceful, and everything was clean. Our two daughters loved the pool, and we appreciated the relaxing hot tub and steam room after a long hike. The reception girl did her best to assist us when we arrived, which made our check-in smooth and welcoming. Overall, we had a fantastic time. What we liked most was the quiet environment and the quick access to the lobby and elevator, without the long wait times you often find in larger hotels.

Good choice for an affordable stay on Banff Avenue. It's a bit of a walk to the stores, approx. 8 mins, but it's quieter at that end of the avenue, which is a bonus. There are lots of restaurants and cafes close by too. Our king suite was lovely, spacious, and had everything we could ask for regarding our comfort. The staff at the front desk were really pleasant and welcoming each time we entered the hotel.
