The Refuge Inn is a beautiful little hotel in Chincoteague. In particular, the indoor pool area was a gem. It's a heated pool in a greenhouse like enclosure. The pool is clean and surrounded by plants that were brought in for the winter. At night, there was steam coming off the pool, creating a lovely atmosphere.

We enjoyed our recent one night stay at the Refuge Inn. Check-in was quick and easy. The lobby, hallways and our room were all well-maintained and clean. Our room looked like it was recently renovated. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have two chairs to relax in and a small dining area to have our breakfast. Luckily, the weather was warm enough to enjoy the balcony in the afternoon.

Room and cleanliness were top notch. What a comfortable bed! Shower and bathroom perfect. Front desk staff were about the friendliest I've ever spoken with. Coffee was good! hot, and put out nice and early for us stargazers. Nice breakfast too. We made use of the rooftop deck every day, several times a day. Also the back deck to check the stars early morn and late eve every day. We were extremely happy to see that you still have the roof deck! And that the ponies and bikes are still just across the parking lot. We are definitely coming back! Thank you for all the thoughtful touches- it was noted and much appreciated.

I liked the location overlooking the salt marsh, the colors of the Inn that blend into the trees instead of offering a stark contrast as do the newer condos and apartments. The house staff are very friendly and front desk very welcoming. I also liked looking out at the pony corral in the morning, the 2 cats that seem to travel across the paddocks, and the well maintained facilities.

This Inn and family owned and operated. Awesome clean comfortable place to stay! Nice amenities and affordable. Free hot or cold breakfast delivered to your room ever morning at a time of your choice. Lovely, would definitely stay there again and will.

Hi, you Folks are all friendly and we Like That. But: I expect a breakfast room were i can sit properly and Enjoy my breakfast. You showed bikes in your Website. I expect then Hotel bikes. Under this conditions the next time i prefer again the hampton inn.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Refuge Inn. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The pool, sauna, and exercise room were very nice to have available as the weather for our three day stay was not the best. The little extras, like the deck, beautiful landscaping and the horses make the Refuge the perfect choice. We hope to come back someday.

Wonderful hotel with spacious rooms. Refuge ponies are right at the hotel. Beautiful views of the marshes and great gardens and pool. Assateague Island is within walking/biking distance. Bike rentals are available right next door. Staff were friendly and helpful. We plan to return in the future and recommend this hotel.

We loved this place! There is much care in the little things. Real furniture in the room, enough towels, nice soap and shampoo, coffee and tea all day, nice pool, and just that extra touch with everything. It is walkable distance to the National Park and just enough away from the busy beach stores. Staff was very helpful!

The Refuge Inn is the place to stay if you really want to relax near the park and have interactions by the pool with other interesting visitors like yourself! Bike Rental next store puts you in the driver's seat to visit the Wildlife Refuge right across the causeway.

It was nice beds comfortable,shower hot,pool clean,staff friendly,affordable . I liked the horses in pen!Only thing I didnt like about hotel no microwave in room.The island had plenty of places to shop and eat .Mcdonalds next door.Didnt see any wild horses at this end of Assateague but several on Maryland side .Got ate up by mosquitos especially near lighthouse.

This is our second time traveling to Chincoteague and both times we stayed at the Refuge Inn! We absolutely love it here. The most important thing to me is cleanliness, and the rooms are spotless here. The location and property is beautiful and allows you to truly escape the business of life. Everything about this place is great except that the floor in our room was durty and they don't clean it when they come to pick up the trash as well as the AC and the mini refrigerator were so laud we ended up turning them off so we can sleep. Thanks God nights were cooler. Not sure if all rooms are like this. Other than that very friendly and welcoming people.

Last stop before entering the island. Made it very easy to bike around. Enjoyed the flowers and landscaping and the hot tub was nice after a day out on the island. Breakfast was nice idea but sandwich was stale.

Have not stayed at The Refuge Inn for years and was delighted to find that it remains such an excellent accommodation and so close to the National Seashore and Wildlife Refuge. It remains affordable and very very well maintained. Morning breakfast delivered to your room is superb. Number one location in Chincoteague for me.

We had the most relaxing time at the Refuge and loved the breakfast delivered to our room and the closeness to the island. We jumped on the bike trail every morning and rode through Assateague. We had a fabulous time. We will be back soon.

We loved our stay for the weekend. My kids especially loved the ponies next door. The facilities were very clean and conveniently located close to shops, restaurants, and a short drive to the Chincoteague Beach. Our rooms were very nice and comfy. We loved having breakfast delivered to our room too. It was a nice touch.
