Only stay here if there are no other options. It's a quaint old building but has not been updated in a long time. The floors were really crooked. The upholstered chairs in the room were ripped and stained. The bathroom baseboards had layers of dust. The bed was hard as a rock. There was no deadbolt on the door, just locking knob and a chain. I stopped myself from looking more into how dirty the room actually was. The linens are not changed daily, no house keeping at all during our stay. We had to ask for a new set of towels.

Older hotel with smaller rooms, perfect location, comfortable bed. Only real complaint is the floral cleaning products they use are overpowering. Smells like potpourri from the 70-80’s. Really offensive. We had to leave the sliding door open the first night to air the room out. Walked by a different room that was being cleaned, and the strong floral smell made me gag!

Only issue we really had was poor internet/wifi....our tv worked only after going to front desk and asked for help. Every time we signed off our phones and tablets we had to go thru the whole process to sign back in only to have 1 or 2 bars that booted us offline frequently. The location was great to walk to all stores,, bars, restaurants and of course the beach

The rooms are terrible. Very dirty. I'm an usually customer of this hotel, but didn't visit for 4 years. I've noticed that the rooms are very very dirty. That's the only bad point for me.

We had a great experience here! Love the location. The staff was friendly and check in was quick and easy. Will definitely be going back there again.

Such a quaint and charming inn literally in the middle of everything Hampton has to offer. The front porch offers the ideal spot for people watching if you are not lucky enough to have a balcony. The beach is literally across the street and you can even hear the waves once the business of the day dies down. If you are looking for an ultramodern hi-tech hotel, this is not the place for you (in fact, we had to forego tv during our stay because they were unable to get it working) but if you are looking for the nostalgia and simplicity of days past while still being in the thick of things, this may be for you

It was a super small room. Very old building, which has it's charm. There were 2 staff members that were very pleasant, girll with curly curly hair at front desk and the grey haired gentleman that checked me in and carried my bag for me. The rest of the staff were standoffish. One improvement would be a simple bottle of water upon check in. (One thing is the ceiling tile in bathroom had a pretty good size missing corner, I felt watched)

I booked an side ocean view room its very small...was not very clean. There was a sign to put towels and garbage by door and they would leave clean towel they didnt..we had to get clean towels on our own.
Above the a.c i dont think has been cleaned at all... for the money we paid it wasnt worth it...

All rooms should have a long mirror behind the bathroom door. We had one on the top floor then we had to move and didn’t have one in that bathroom, that was a bummer!! Overall great stay.

Great location if looking to be right on the boardwalk and super close to the beach. Room was as described but small. Great air conditioning, decent sized refrigerator, and clean beds.

We were looking for a place to stay 1 night because we were going to a show at Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom. (We drove up from Mass.) Hillcrest Inn was perfect. Easy booking, easy check- in and check-out and affordable. The room was clean. The A.C. worked. The pool was clean. They allow smoking on the balcony. It's right in the middle of all the excitement. 2 blocks to the casino. Beach right across the street. Front porch with seating for great people watching. Room is not huge, but suited our needs. We will stay there again for a show in August.

The room was appropriate for an older establishment. It was in good condition but small. Porch needs cleaning . Rate at $250 was a little high for age but location is awesome.

It was very convenient to beach, bars, shops. Parking was easy. We had limited staff interaction but they were pleasant, let us check in early. The room was not particularly clean, but I didn’t expect much with low prices and it being on the strip. The bed was not comfortable. Taking everything into account, for the price I would stay again just be aware it’s not 5 star.
* I might have missed this in the listing, but there is no elevator so this would be important to know for someone who can’t climb stairs with luggage.

Small rooms but decent location

Booked a last minute night at the beach. The Hillcrest was the perfect spot. Walking distance to everything, beach across the street, playground across the street as well. The room was quiet at night and did not let in a lot of outside noise.
Would stay again!

One of the best places to stay on the boardwalk. Great friendly service and so close to the casino ballroom you can walk there in a couple of minutes! Great stay and will definitely be back!

Staff was very friendly. The location of the HIllcrest is the best. Close to playground, arcade, bandstand, Casino Ballroom etc.

Room was fairly clean. Dirty ashtrays on balcony, yuk. People in next room came in at 2:45am, stayed up on balcony & were very noisy. We were disappointed because the pool wasn't open. There was no mention of that when booking.

Room was ok. very close to everything! Could use some updates walls are very thin and there could be better pillows and a microwave in the room. Travled with a 3yr old and needed one but overall it was do able.

Needs updating and cleaning service. Pool out of order and very filthy. Staff heplful and somewhat friendly. But really put some money in up grades like carpet and paint.

Would not return. A trip with my granddaughter and found out, once we checked in, everyone can smoke out on their balcony. Balconies are all ipen and the person is literally 3 feet from us. Found a bug in one of the beds, 5he frig was rarher gross. Book another place!!

Building is older, a little more run down. Shower curtain needs to be replaced. Aside from that the staff working there were wonderful, and we enjoyed our stay!

Check in here during the fall season it was 40 degrees that night but their heater is not running says its not season yet, we can even see our breath inside the room so we called the front desk to let them know that its 40 degrees inside and was told to go walk accross the other building to pickup a portable heater

THIS PLACE!!
Amazing staff and views!! They were so accommodating as we had a family emergency that required us to miss the first night, but they completely made up for it by allowing a late checkout.
I can’t say enough great things about these people. Also, the rooms with views are amazing. Was a great way to relax and rejuvenate. Thank you so much for your hospitality!!

Great location. Room is tiny and old, but affordable.

We stayed here because we were visiting family in the area. THe room was very tired and old, and felt like I was in a dorm. THe walls were thin and we could hear everything in adjoining rooms. THe staff was preoccupied with something besides attending to the guests - not sure what - but it was hard to get accurate info regarding the impact of the next morning marathon on our departure. Parking was down the block from the hotel and VERY tight and we got the last spot - not sure if everyone was accommodated.

Very disappointed it was dirty and the parking was very tight and limited especially if you had a larger vehicle. The whole place needs updating including the pool. The location was fantastic.

It is located in the center and can walk everywhere. Staff was friendly. It is an older building, but very clean.
3.0
I little dated and needs some TLC. It is an old building. The people at check in were very nice but the room was small and the floors were a bit uneven so at night going to the bathroom was a couple of downhill steps from the bed. It was a ocean front room and during the night the traffic was a little annoying. Good thing it was off season. Only stayed one night and probably won't return.
3.0
Good location but the building is old and antiquated. Beds are hard as concrete and pillows were thin as pancakes. Some money could be spent on some upkeep and improvements.
